Hôtel de la Plage - Calais

The staff were fantastic from the moment we arrived and their service was appreciated. The room was so spacious - the biggest we stayed in over our 3 months in europe - and in excellent condition for its age. The view of the beach and the sound of the sea was also very relaxing.

OK just to stay. It was bad and cold weather, to small heat in the rooms.

Stayed one night as passing through to channel crossing, very happy with facilitis and location, rooms very clean and spacious enough for two on overnight stay. Nothing else on beach location, hotel restaurant very good, only possible gripe is that walls are not sound proofed and can hear noise through connecting walls, but would definitly stay again and happily recommend as good location, clean and tidy and good restaurant

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a good hotel in such a good location in Calais. I doubt that there are any better.

A very nice hotel with an excellent restaurant- eat here ! Comfortable room but a thin door to a noisy adjoining room. Stay here for good value and friendly service, proximity to beaches and the port, and did I mention the restaurant ?

Good location and enjoyable restaurant

Convenient and efficient. Rooms a bit small for the price, but OK for the night which I guess most people will be spending here. Breakfast good, but additional to basic price. We had supper at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with both quality and service.

We only stayed one night but our imitial impressions were very good for the price paid. This is a good quality hotel on the beach in Calais and very convenient for the ferry terminal and Tunnel (10 minutes from each). There is also a pretty good restaurant attached if you arrive late so no need to leave the hotel. Will definately return.

Hotel and Restaurant are ok. A problem with Wifi, the room was too far from Wifi Access. The same thing with hot water for shower, I waited for several minutes before to have the good temperature(too far from the boiler.

Very friendly & helpfull staff

First stay ( previously stayed at Hotel Du Golfe next door)and would certainly consider staying there again.

We arrived late afternoon and were shown to a disabled room with a very large and grubby bathroom and an exceedingly tiny bedroom with no surfaces on which to put anything. When we tried to change the room, which were all the same price, we were told they were all the same size. The following day we discovered on looking at several vacated rooms, that this was far from true and most of the other rooms were very much better. We had been put into one of the only two disabled guest rooms. At breakfast we complained that we were given entirely false information and a different member of staff from the day before, apologised profusely and did not charge us for the meal. The hotel is very well positioned on the sea front with more than adequate parking and if we had been given a standard room we would have been very satisfied. The buffet breakfast was adequate and fresh, but no hot food was served.

My french is limited but they allowed me to try and were extremely helpful with getting us to meet our friends at another hotel. We were as close as you could want to the boats, the tunnel and Citie Europe but still quiet. The sat nav will not take you to the door you end up in a car park a long way along the beach but you can still find it. The beach was great,brilliant watching the ships - not a lot to do in the town, but the walk was good, everybody we met was friendly and I would love to visit again in warmer weather.The food choices at Citie Europe were excellent but we did not get the chance to go shopping, visited Le Touquet from here easily. Parking was free and plentiful at the hotel.

Nice hotel to stay for the night.Quite , Clean room,coffee making facilities basic but there were there and needed!Bed very soft and squicky.Not good for bd nerves.Overall a pleasant stay.I would recommended it!
