The hotel is humble but clean in a great location. Walking distance to the Tahrir, Egyptian Museum and buses to the pyramids. The staff went out of their way to share information to avoid the tourists traps. Although i stayed only one night to travel through Egypt I came back on my last night. They let me stay for a few hours since my flight left at almost 4am. They kindly offered me tea, a shower and a room to relax at no cost since I only had money left for a taxi (i took their airport drop off service). They even offered me a wake up call, which I accepted. I am greatful for their hospitality especially since I'm a woman travelling alone. I felt safe in this hotel at all times.

The Isis Hotel is in an exceptional location on top 16th floor, Amazing views, 360 degrees across the city and towards the Nile river and expressways. At night it is simply magic. The hotel is only 200m from the Nasser Metro station and a few minutes walk to the Museum. The breakfast was good, generous. The staff were really helpful with advice on things to do around Cairo. The hotel offered a discounted rate for an extended stay to the following evening which made my stay comfortable. Very affordable budget hotel in an outstanding spot in town, thanks ahmed allam and staff.

From the airport pick-up right through the week (including two tours booked through the very helpful staff), I had a great time at the Isis Hotel. I had been recommended this hotel from friends of ours who had stayed here two years ago knowing that views of the Nile and Cairo Museum were just on our doorstep and we were not disappointed. The hotel is all on one floor in an apartment building, with the rooms and reception located around a central, very homely living room. The staff are excellent and there is always someone one reception as the staff take regular shifts. They speak very good English and are happy to help when it comes to booking a variety of trips without being overbearing. Breakfast (egg, bread and jam), two internet computers and WiFi is free for guests, plus tea and coffee is complimentary all day long.. The rooms are very big (I had four single beds in my room.it is the best choice if you come to Cairo , thanks for the manager and the staff.

This budget hotel is perfect for its cheap price and location. The rooms are cleaner than I expected. The staff is generally very nice. The building isn't nice but I didn't mind that much. The elevator is awful and the hotel is at 15th floor. If the electricty cut off, you have to climb the stairs which seem scary at some floors. You'd better have a torch with you, just in case. Also, be careful with the pyramid tour they offer. The tour price is fair but you're taken to a stable for a horse-ride around the pyramids and the stable owner asks for too much money (which isn't included in the tour price nor mentioned beforehand), plus your "guide" on horse, asks for tremendous tip and wants you to tip him before returning to the stable (he doesn't want his boss to see it). So, ask the reception about all the details when you want to book a tour. One last thing, the hotel accepts only cash. No credit card.

If you saw the entrance to this hotel you would not go in! Ditto for lift or street outside, Fabulous location near Museum, rooms adequate but the staff here make up for all the shortcomings. Friendly, helpful, they are great! Lots of fun! Lovely driver for tours.

As many have said, the hotel is on the 15th floor of a rather rundown building. The elevator is ancient and slow, but eventually gets you to the 14th floor, where you walk up a flight of steps (don't be afraid!). That said, once you get there, the owners make you feel welcome, the rooms are spartan but clean, and the breakfasts are filling. You have to know what you're getting into - Cairo is hot, dirty, noisy and overpopulated, and you're right in the center of it. If you're not prepared to deal with that, go to one of the highly priced US tourist hotels. However, if you're an adventurous traveler that can rough it a bit and fend for yourself, and if you're looking for a cheap place to sleep in a good location with caring staff, this is a great option. The AC keeps it cool enough, there are fridges in the larger rooms (ours was a bit noisy), they have satellite tv, the views are terrific, the sheets are clean, and the staff are very friendly. The only downside was that the windows don't do a great job of keeping the noise out. I wouldn't recommend the Nile cruise that they offer (it's a bit too low budget), but the driver they provided to visit Memphis, Saqqara and Giza was outstanding. They also provided excellent service to and from the airport. There is a hole-in-the-wall little shop around the corner for water and drinks, and you HAVE to visit Abou Tarek - a fantastic place for a cheap but tasty meal of koshari (the restaurant is a block away - it was visited by Anthony Bourdain, if you watch the US Travel channel). The museum is also just down the road. If you want the real Cairo experience, then this is a terrific option, but keep your expectations reasonable - it's a 2 star hotel in a major city of a developing country. I'd certainly stay here again, if I went back.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. When we became ill, they served us healing drinks, and went out for special food for us, and were concerned for us. Mahammed Ali and Mr. Medhat are to be highly praised for their work here.

We stayed in Isis hotel for 3 nights and in general, the experience was nice. Their pickup service is reliable (even at 3am from the airport) and free (if you stay for 2 or more nights). Our A/C 4-bed room (with bathroom) is large and has a great River Nile view. Staff here are friendly and helpful. The free and workable Wifi is also a plus.

The Isis Hotel is a great place to stay! Wonderful staff, very clean, comfy rooms with tv and huge fridge, great view from both the room and the reception area. The (Arab)breakfast is really tasty. The location of the hotel is perfect. The free airport pick-up and WLAN are also a nice treat. We'll definitely come back!

The prices are very cheap and very well located. However, the building where the hotel is located is very poor, and, because of the highway entrance nearby and the poor conditions of the average egyptian cars, walking from/to the hotel can be very dangerous especially at night.

the shared bath room is dirty looking and poorly equipped, but staff is nice and the pickup from airport was reasonably priced. Okay for travelers on budget.

I went to Cairo with my wife and son to attend a conference. We had sufficient time to tour around. In Cairo we visited Pyramids, Egyptian Museum, Citadel and Coptic Churches. On our last day, we spent a few hours in the Khan-Khaleli Market place. We had time to visit Luxor and spent a day there. Our stay and trips were organized by the hotel itself. We found them economic and hassle free. They have arranged experienced tour guides. The arrangement in the hotel is also quite good. There is good internet connectivity. Telephone facility is not up to the marks. However, we were more dependent on internet chats and mail exchanges for communicating with my friends and family. Rooms were regularly cleaned and had enough space to move around. The hotel is run in the 16th floor of a very old building equipped with an old lift. However, it did not give any trouble to us, though you should be patient enough for its docking with the floors and opening of its door. The best thing of this hotel is the friendliness of its staff members. They really cared for us. Definitely for a traveler with tight budget this hotel is a good option.

This is a straigthforward cheap hotel for travelers that are on a low budget or that just want a place to crash for 1 to 3 nights! The hotel is actually on the 15th floor, the elevator luckely worked and brings you to the 14th floor! The rooms are wared out with ancient and 'cracky' furniture that remains functional, the shared bathroom is in the same state but ... the shower worked nicely and warm water was okay! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and in fact the scrambled eggs for the morning breakfast was a surprise to me! For this price you can not expect better then this, I actually took a big risk to book this quite late - and was happily surprised by the experience that exceeded my expectations! I also took with them one day tour and was very happy with the taxi cq guide Khalid and the tour! I stayed in total 3,5 day in Cairo and do not advice to others to do so, I believe 2,5 is more then enough to visit the main things and get a sense for the city, after that get out of this noise and enjoy other Egyptian sites!

the Isis Hotel is a hidden gem in cairo. they show true egyptian hospitality that a number of named hotels have lost. you are a guest, and they treat you as the most important person in egypt. everything is done for your convienence, breakfast cooked to order at 6am, 11am,2pm or whatever time you wish. the housekeeping staff service your room when you go out the hotel, no knocking on the door disturbing you, like i've had in other places. the reception staff can not do enough for you. Medhet, is fantastic, organising anything i needed. transport to coach station, a take away, and site seeing trip. one night was not enough.on my next visit to cairo, i will stay nowhere else. the ISIS HOTEL, will be my only choice.

I found this hotel excellent value for money. Though the entrance and ambience are not the best, the friendly service offered by the employees more than makes up. Besides, the hotel is located in a very central location of Cairo and so would serve as a good base for any traveller. I would definitely recommend ISIS Hotel.

Very kind and friendly staffs. Reasonable price. The owner of Mr. Hamada is also nice person. Location is OK but not very convenient for eating out. Walking distance to Metro Stations. This hotel could be better if they furnish maps of surrounding areas for travellers. Also, this hotel is located on a very major street, but not easy to find if you can not read address in Arabic, so the hotel should put a map on the website.

The people who worked at the front desk were always very helpful and friendly. One evening I wasn't feeling well so didn't feel like getting dinner and they went and got my husband and I dinner. We really appreciated that!!

Stayed twice at this hotel, the first time for 3 nights and the second time for 2 nights. Staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We had to leave Cairo very late by train and were able to sit in the lounge for several hours before we left. Maids were friendly and efficient. We went on two quite inexpensive private tours arranged by the hotel. The one to the pyramid fields was excellent. However, the driver was keen to take us to places not on the itinerary (the carpet factory, the lotus flower factory etc, etc) and was obviously put out when we refused. Conversely, the hotel arranged to pick us up at the airport free and provided a cheap return taxi. The room was quite spacious but the furniture and sanitary fittings have seen better days. Sheets were changed daily and the bedding was clean. It is difficult to keep things dust free in Cairo and the staff obviously do their best. The area round the hotel consists partly of car repair shops so is not attractive but we found the locals friendly and felt safe. Very near is Abu Tarek's kushari restaurant which is clean, extremely cheap and provides tasty kushari and rice pudding. The Egyptian Museum is close but you need to cross a busy road or take a long walk round Tahir Sq and use the underpass. The Nile Hilton next door to the museum has a good cafe which is priced about the same as a UK department store cafe. There are stairs from the floor below which is as far as the lift goes so this hotel would be unsuitable for those who cannot manage stairs.
