This was our first visit to Hotel Windsor and it will be my hotel of choice next time I visit Cairo. Staying at Hotel Windsor was one of the highlights of our Egyptian trip, because it is so unusual to find such a hotel in the modern world. I do not refer to it's wonderful ambiance of a century past but to the fact that the visitor feels instantly at home due of the warmth and friendliness of it's staff. The hotel is centrally located and it is possible to walk to the Islamic section of Cairo and to the Egyptian Museum but although it is so central it is on a quiet tree lined street. It is not a grand hotel,it's entrance one hardly notices, and not all the rooms are impressive although our first one was totally Edwardian and large( some are much simpler.) It has a marvellous bar and the food is better than we could find elsewhere. We loved this place

Too high price for the quality of the hotel. Air conditioner did not work well. Beds were not comfortable, dusty-old place.

Very, very good if you like some old charm and a feeling of the real center of Cairo. There are no tourists to be seen outside the hotel, just ordinary Cairo people, and no hazzles or stress. It is best to check out the surroundings in daylight if it is the first time. Try the fresh falafel in the nearby street market, or the mint tea just across the street. The hotel bar is also very alright!

The hotel was quaint, but certainly not something that I would book again. It hasn't been updated for 30 years, apparently. The people were pleasant and helpful; however, we feel that the clerk at the reception desk kept a portion of our taxi fare for himself. At any rate, it was a pleasant place to be, vis-a-vis service and personnel. What we didn't like at all was the fact that the hotel was on a very noisy corner. We simply couldn't sleep until three in the morning and the din from the street started up again at five. Additionally, when you step out of the hotel, you are on a very dirty and run down street.

The Hotel Windsor is worth looking at. We spent two enjoyable evenings eating and drinking in the 2nd floor lounge. The room was large, clean, quiet but also aging and basic - as was expected. The bathroom was large and ok - which probably is all you expect at this price point. Cairo is a noisy city but the street noise outside wasn't a big problem in our room. Cairo is difficult to find your way around so make sure you have a driver or have a good map.

This hotel isn't tired its exhausted. The rooms are desperately in need of refurbishment. The bar is interesting and has a good atmosphere and good food. The surroundings are very dirty and smelly - even by Cairo standards. I was badly bitten by mosquitos overnight - not sure where they come from in the middle of a city. People we chatted to had had the same experience. Bedding and bathrooms were clean but I wouldn't stay there again

Windsor is an old hotell with style and atmosphere. I espesially liked the big bar, it is a very nice play to have a Stella. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The hotel is located in downtown, and it is just a short walk to the different sights. I allways stay in Windsor whwn I visit Cairo.I can truly recommend it.

Acceptable cleanliness, poor and not good breakfast, big room but with very small and old bathroom inside. Traditional (bad) hotel surroundings. Kind employees. At the end: nothing special but a decent staying!

We had a great time at the Windsor Hotel! It's an old hotel, but it still is charming. The 2 rooms we stayed at were a bit worn out, but the restaurant and lobby are really nice. The staff at the hotel was the best! Erian booked us a day tour with guide to Memphis, Sakkara and Gizeh, just for the 2 of us with a driver and guide for 35 USD per person. He also booked our night train to Aswan and from Luxor back to Cairo and the 4 days/3 nights Nile Cruise. We paid 2000 Egyptian Pounds per person, including the trains, the cruise, all excursions and guides. Not included are the entrance fees! Full board on the boat, we were on the Nile Saray, bit old as well, but we had the best time, great food!! All excursions were organized very well and they never forgot about us (even if it was just the 2 of us and no one else!). Good organized by Erian and Amigo Tours (which Erian booked through). Fully recommend them!

We booked a "deluxe" room but upon arrival were informed it was not available. We were given a regular room (at the reduced price) but the bathroom was arranged so that we had to step into the tiny shower area in order to reach the toilet and the floor filled with water after our showers. Breakfast was sparse to say the least. Location was good but hard to find. Overall, adequate but nothing special.

The atmosphere is great... rooms are clean... I didn’t receive the deluxe room I have booked for but a cheaper standard one which was ok though! Some of the staff is very kind some other not at all! All considered I would go back and recommend.

About the price in UD$ on which I agreed the booking throught Venere.com, once there, they required to be payed with local divisa and the exchanged rate they applied was much higher than the official at bank-offices. I felt cheated for that.
