This hotel definitely met our standards as far as a 3 star is defined. Liked the fact that they had security and the bellboy was always attentive and not greedy wanting tips. The area is great for restaurants, discos and parks. No near-by museums nor sightseeing land marks. Overall I think this hotel in Cairo is far better than other so called 4-stars.

The Havana Hotel was great! The front desk staff is very helpful and they stay on top of things. It is close to lots of good shops, even a food market just a few steps down the street. You must try the chicken shawarma wrap @ Aboa Maar, which is about half mile down the road as you go to the right out of the hotel. The food market is as you go left out of the hotel. The streets in Mohandaseen are arranged in a circle, so you cannot get lost. I like to walk, so I was able to walk from the hotel to the River Nile quite easily. The rooms facing the street are quite noisy, so if you are a light sleeper you might request a room in the back of the hotel. If you have the hotel staff book your flight through their travel agency to Israel, make sure you get a paper ticket, not an e-ticket. You can tell whether or not you need a paper ticket by seeing if your ticket number begins with an "E" or "P". I learned this the hard way. Also, the breakfast is good, but I attempted to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant one night, all I can say is YUK. The sandwich was greasy and the french fries were cold and nasty. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and I will stay there again. I definitely recommend this hotel. However, if you are looking to stay in Cairo city proper, you might want to book at the City View hotel. The Havana Hotel is officially considered a part of Giza, which as I stated before, is in the suburb of Mohandaseen.

Air Conditioning in he room was not stable, needs improvemnt. There is a room for service staff on the second floor, the bell or telephone on that room was ringing all the time, day and night, that was realy a source of noise to the whole floor...I think it should be moved from there.

The service they provided us was great and they are really helpful. Price was also inexpensive for this type of hotel. I can recommend all the travellers to go to Cairo to stay at the hotel. It would be much better if we could find a hotel like this one that is close to Subway station.

Staff was great! Construction going on outside room. Would have preferred a room in the rear away from traffic. Room door allowed a lot of hallway lighting inside at night.

We had a wonderful stay at Havana. If you stay in Cairo you must stay at this hotel and ask for a tour with Imad...The staff was wonderful and the food in the restuarant attached to the hotel was great!

I stayed for 5 nights in February. The Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. It helps if during your stay you leave a tip for the cleaning staff. I left £20 egyptian pounds in the envelope provided, and we got extra blankets on the bed, the shower unblocked etc without having to ask or make fuss. You can get freshly cooked omelette for breakfast. Would not recommend the restaurant for dining as quality is nothing great.

We found the Havana an excellent place to stay for the first two days after arriving in Egypt - quiet, close to some nice cafes, and banks/teller machines nearby. Accessibility from the airport, and to the Giza pyramids and Giza railway station are also good from this location. To get to other parts of Cairo it's a harrowing taxi ride at times and the metro is awkward to access. A great place to start or end your trip.

The room was VERY noisy not because of outside noise but it was due to the joining door to the next room. The hotel should not have allocate such room to us & it should have been reserved for a family split between 2 rooms, because there was no solid wall i could hear everything that was going on next door including the plastic bags! Other than the above, it is a good location & hotel!
