Hotel Spa Senator Cádiz - Cádiz

Hotel with a good location in the old town.Our room was rather small but the bathroom was spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly. We did not use the pool or spa that the hotel promotes. An average place with nothing outstanding, good or bad.

For a 4 star hotel, this was far below standards one would expect in the UK or France. It is some time since I stayed in a Spanish hotel, so I may not be up to date with the expectations there. The TV in the room was on its last legs - an old square Grundig which did not receive all the channels it was supposed to, and the picture of poor quality. The furnishings were similarly drab and depressing. It was relatively clean (although on arrival the bath contained hair from the previous occupant). The communal areas were draughty which did not encourage you to spend any time there. The last night was a costly 209 euros which was admittedly the first night of Carnaval, but ludicrously over priced for a place which only provided one sachet of coffee per day! I have stayed in 2 star hotels in London which are much better and a third of the price.

Excellent hotel. It was located in the port area. I would recommend it for its location as it was within walking distance of everywhere.

We stay 2 days in Cadiz. Hotel is near shop area.

Although we had booked 2 nights we returned home early. The hotel seemed more like a youth hostel and the noise from both guests and from the street kept us awake half the night.The hotel is unfortunately situated in a narrow alley. The restaurant was also a disappointment. We certainly did not receive good value for money. It was a pity as the staff were friendly and helpful.

OK hotel, but the price was a little to high. Disappointing pool at top roof. Excellent located in center of Cadiz. Personally i would rate this hotel as a 3-star, not 4.

All the staff at reception were both welcoming and helpful particularly the manager. Breakfast on offer in the bar was simple and very good value and it was nice to call in late in the evening for a last drink. This hotel is in an excellent position for wandering round the old town and it is a 2 mins walk to a bus stop for the beautiful beaches.Cadiz is still one of Spains best kept secrets!

A nice hotel for visiting the old town! Some good restaurants are nearby.

Two mature couples seeing the historic sights of Spain. The hotel was very central and great for seeing Cadiz on foot, there were great views from the roof. All the facilities a city centre hotel should have. A little noise from the port, but the central location more than made up for that. Wish we had know about having to book a slot for using the indoor pool and spa as it was not available at a convenient time during our stay. A little difficult to get into the hotel car park - by lift to the underground park, which took a little manouvering to get into. A great location.

Reception staff were excellent, resturant staff struggled to make average

Stayed in 2 other places in Andalucia this holiday, one 4 star, one very simple. This was by far the poorest value,and very poorly managed. Ants in a 5th floor bathroom, rain dripping down the central lift shaft,tatty and minimal hotel and spa information in room, failure to replenish tea and coffee, cheap loo paper and very poor standard of workmanship

The private garage was not included (eur 15 per night) and very difficult to achieve. the hotel is of good level and the service too. the position central respect of the storic areas. we stayed just one night.

While this four star hotel did have all the facilities that it advertised, the public areas were little used and a little 'souless'!However, as we were on holiday, it was in a very convenient and lively location with many nice little bars and restaurants nearby and there was a bus stop round the corner making trips to the very clean beach so easy and cheap.We think Cadiz is one of Spains best kept secrets!Friendly,old and interesting, with lovely beaches, great food and wonderful weather.
