Hotel Patagonia Sur - Cádiz

Enjoyed our stay at Patagonia Sur. A nice little hotel. We stayed in the Attic room on the 4th floor which had a lovely terrace and view of the top of the Cathedral. BUT it was a very small room. I did expect this from the website but I wasn't quite prepared for how small it was - and once we got two suitcases into the room there wasnt much room to even walk around. My husband could touch both side walls when he lay on the bed. But despite being tiny we had a great stay and made the most of the terrace in the evening.(too hot in the day) The other rooms were probably a more normal size so i'd recommend booking those instead. Other than that the hotel was good- recently completely rebuilt so quite modern inside. The owner was lovely and friendly. the breakfast was one of the better ones we'd had in Spain - they even had muesli! The location was pretty good inthe old part of Cadiz.

Our only problem was that it was very noisy at night due to garbage collection every night. One could not sleep until after 3.30 a.m. it seemed, so may suit younger travellers.

This Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old town, old buildings line cobbled stone streets and the Plaza de la Cathedral is at 20 paces. Not to mention some great shopping in the immediate surrounds! The staff are friendly and welcoming, the room (#23) that we got was small, but ample enough for a weekend stay and super clean, the shower is roomy and very powerful, blast the dust from tired feet after a day exploring the streets of the old town. Air con is most welcome too, together with minibar and plasma tv to catch up on the days news whilst enjoying a cool drink and perhaps a cheeky snack. It is a little noisy in late evening (well it is town centre), but come 1pm everyone is asleep and the crisp white sheets of the comfortable bed, lull you into dreams of the nearby Playa de la Caleta (old harbour beach) and a yummy ravioli you enjoyed at the nearby Italian Restaurant, not to mention the tapas enjoyed in the Plaza de la Cathedral :) Breakfast is "continental", i.e. no fry-ups here, but there is more than enough to suit anyone from yoghurt to muesli to hams, cheese, croissants and other nice pastries, freshly squeezed juice, coffee a selection of herbal teas, you won't be hungry afterwards, I promise! We would definitely stay there again :)

Friendly staff; co-owner speaks good English. Very close to town centre, bus and train stations. Good choice of buffet breakfast with helpful staff member. Firm beds, very comfortable. Small modern hotel but with good ambience. Street outside can be noisy in the normal Spanish way. Very welcoming.

Extremly small room, otherwise great conditions, great breakfast, great location.

The hotel is clean and well-situated within the old city of Cadiz. The breakfast was fine, service and price reasonable. However, the room is very small (like a college dormitory), although there is a large balcony overlooking the cathedral. There was some noise from doors slamming. If you're not concerned about the size of the room, then it's well worth it.

This was the first stay at Hotel Patagonia Sur, Cadiz and we found the staff, location and cleanliness of rooms excellent. Be aware that the parking is dearer than that stated in Tripadvisor, now 14.5 euros per 24 hours.

Great location! Good price value! Poor breakfast! New Hotel. Highly recommended.
