The Rooney lives up to its reputation as a truly unique boutique hotel. It is a really great place to stay. The staff is very helpful in recommending places to visit and eat. It is in the heart of the city but the location is not noisy. It reminded me of a classic hotel. To introduce you to the Tango, lessons are available on Friday evenings. I can't wait for my next visit.

This was a solid choice in a very central location, good security, nice breakfast, happy hotel staff. I was recommended the 'Bike Tours' half day outing when I had a day to kill in BA and throughly enjoyed it.

The hotel is next to a hooker's bar called Pelvis. The street isn't very attractive and doesn't feel that safe after 10:00 pm. Rooms are basic but very clean and the staff is fluent in English and very helpful

Very nice hotel, staff welcoming and friendly, rooms clean and tastefully decorated. I recommend this hotel. My room was off the street, hence quiet. In Bs.As. any rooms facing the street will be noisy - anywhere, any time! If quietness is important to you,ask for one of the rooms off the street and you will be perfectly happy here.

I've stayed at Rooney's twice now and have enjoyed my stays. The only negative is the noise level--both from the street and tenants on the floor above the hotel. If you ask for a room not on the street (especially Calleo), it will be quieter, since there is no insulation from street noise. The breakfasts and service are great--staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel's location is excellent. You are within walking distance of two subway lines, downtown, malls, and pedestrian shopping streets and the port is a $4 cab ride away. Be aware that if you ask for a room with a balcony, you will be over the street, and since the balcony is only about 12 inches wide and filled with the A/C unit, is unusable. I'd stay there again for the location and the staff!
