Hotel Babel - Buenos Aires

I can't say enough about how warm and welcoming, knowledgable and helpful the staff is at Babel. The hotel is small and has the feel of a bed and breakfast. Coming back after a long day and evening in Buenos Aires is like coming home to family. There is always a smiling face behind the counter/bar. No matter how late it is, you want to sit down and chat about the day, ask questions, and plan the itinerary for the next day over a glass of wine. The rooms are quite small, but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is cooked to order and very good. The front door is kept locked at all times, but is usually opened in greeting before you have a chance to ring the bell. Because we were told that the rooms with windows facing the street can be a little noisy, we opted for a room with no window but with shuttered French doors facing the courtyard. Since we felt so safe and secure there, we were able to leave the French doors open on warm nights with just the shutters closed for privacy. This may not be the most luxurious hotel in B.A., but I'm sure it is one of the most homey and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Babel to anyone who is looking for a home away from home in Buenos Aires.

We loved our stay and the staff made it even better. They were very friendly and helpful. The last day we didn't have a flight until late that night, so they took care of our bags and allowed us to hang around for several hours in the afternoon until it was time to head for the airport. The only real downside was the street noise - we had a room overlooking the street and traffic was noisey. I suggest you stay away from rooms 8 and 9. Overall though, a great place.

Hotel is located in an area where you can easily walk to Plaza de Mayo, anything in San Telmo, and Puerto Madero. Clean and stylish facility with very comfortable bed, huge bath with large walk in shower, and since the outside temps were in the 90's, the air conditioning was a lifesaver! Staff were very helpful and helped us arrange for a Tango show, as well as transportation to the airport. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel Babel is comfortable, clean, and good value for money in an excellent location for San Telmo restaurants and antique shopping, particulary art deco. The Sunday market is very close and a must see. The Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada are also within walking distance.

The rooms were very nice and clean, as well the bathroom. The cheaper one we've been were in the front and a little noisy some times and had a regular bed. I think the larger and more expensive ones at the back are athe better choice. It's 5 minutes to Porto Madero and 3 min to the santelmo's plaza. 10 pesos to florida and 25 pesos to Palermo Soho by taxi, and 3 minutes to the new tourist bus stop. Certainly i'll use the hotel again in a next time. The price/ quality is very good! Thanx for all in the staff!

Overall this was an excellent hotel , great value for money, very friendly and efficient staff, breakfasts all natural and unprocessed foods, I recommend it without reservation
