Situated on just outside the Buda Castle area in Budapest City Centre, the Mediterran is a 4 star hotel near Budapest Convention Centre and the MOM Park shopping mall. The hotel is very easy to reach as it is close to the M1 Motorway from Vienna and the M7 Motorway from Lake Balaton. There are excellent bus and tram links into the city centre and should you want to walk into town, there is a nice path that will take you around the foot of Gellért Hill and into the heart of the Buda Castle district.
Whether in Budapest on business or coming here for a relaxing city break, the Hotel Mediterran provides fairly central accommodation close to Budapest business and entertainment districts in a modern and stylish setting. Another highlight of staying here is that you do not have to worry about finding parking, as the hotel has ample underground garage parking.
The staff at this 4 star Budapest hotel will do their utmost to ensure you enjoy a pleasant and stress-free stay. Keep on top of your emails by logging onto the lobby's guest computer with free internet access. You can also get a drink from the lobby bar, which has a summer terrace.

Most importantly, the directions posted on the site are out of date. The tram stop is actually "BAH-csomópont" -- that gave us a lot of trouble as we tried to get there. However, this stop is about one block away and once we knew that it was the stop, it was easy to get around. The bathroom was very nice, much larger than most in Europe, and appeared new. I wouldn't have a complaint about it if the showerhead hadn't fallen out of its place and smacked me in the forehead, leaving a decent sized lump for the duration of my stay. The "double bed" was two twin beds stuck together which was very disappointing. The evening/night front desk guy was very nice and tried to be helpful as he could with us, however, we had trouble in the daytime as the desk seemed to be staffed by the bartender for the hotel's restaurant and he was less than enthusiastic about being helpful. We checked out with him and had a lot of trouble communicating that we had pre-paid the room (for a special price deal). TV had news in many languages which was appreciated.

ALL OK BUT ONLY ONE BAD THING: WINDOWS HAVE TOO TRANSPARENT MATERIALS SO WHEN IT'S 5,00 A.M. THE MORNING LIGHT WEAKS UP YOU... AND SO IN EVERY ROOM... IT'S INCREDIBLE... YOU CAN NOT SLEEP AFTER 5,00 A.M.

A good price-quality relation, easily accesible from the airport by train+metro, a nice room and helpful staff.

This is a very lovely establishment. Everyone there was very accomadating. When we arrived there was a beautiful wedding reception going on in their lovely garden area. This is NOT a easy walk to a lot of the areas so get a bus pass it will make it easy to come and go.

This is an excellent hotel. We arrived late and we managed to get a fabulous meal in the restaurant. The restaurant doesn't close until 10. The walk is about 2 km to downtown. We walked it but it was cold and a little difficult. The rooms were tastefully furnished and comfortable. The only mishap is that the levator is a little tricky. This is fanatastic hotel for the price.

The staff at the hotel was not very helpful nor were they knowledgeable.

Although the hotel is not accually in the centre, the tram & bus stop is almost outside the hotel and the journey into the centre is very easy. A few stops to the castle area & a change to the metro for Pest was easy. If you are site seeing get a transport "Pass".
