On the plus side: excellent hotel, clean spacious and quite rooms for a fantastic price. On the minus side, the area is a little shabby and lies outside the city center and the overall amenities are not the most modern. Still, I had a great stay at this hotel and can recommend it.

I thought it was a great place to stay, especially for the price. While not downtown, it's in a quiet residential neighborhood built in the late 19th century. It was an easy 25 minute trip by subway or an interesting 45 minute walk to the center. Convenient to Keleti and the airport. The rooms are simple, but clean and quiet. The hotel even has free wireless.

I found the hotel very comfortable and the receptionist and other staff very helpful. It was a little far from the nearest subway but that's not a problem during the day as it's a fairly quite walk. There's not much to do in the immediate vicinity but it's not far by subway to the centre of Pest and the river.

It is a family-run hotel, so not much professionalism from staff, but they are polite and speak fair English. Rooms spacious, comfortable beds, very good shower, nice towels and everything fairly clean if you don't look up. Breakfast OK. If you want eggs or something extra and the room is crowded you may not get it. Quiet neighbourhood, 10 minutes walk from metro station. No lift.

Not a bead hotel, but everything seemed to be extra (including the air conditioning). Quite a long way from the centre too.

A very beautiful hotel, small and comfortable, the rooms are very nice and clean. The 24 hours reception is very good and many languages spoken. Quite far from the underground station. A very good place to stay and I suggest this to everybody.

Most things about the hotel are good, it is reasonably priced, clean, comfortable etc. However,we felt less that welcome. Firstly, on enquiring before by email about the cost of airconditioning we were told that the extra cost applied only out of season, in the summer it was free. On arrival, finding the room hot and stuffy we were told airconditioning cost €10 per day unless the outside temperature was above 30 degrees which, being 8pm it was not. We were told to open the windows. This was during a time when it was reported on TV people were dying in Budapest because of the heat-wave! The air was cooler at night, but the windows were two loft-style swinging windows set in a sloping roof, with blinds on the windows, therefore in the early morning sun and noise streamed in. Also, we were told only one face towel between three of us was enough, two more were produced when I complained.Very nice fluffy towels! The pillows were very flat, however the hotel could not produce second ones. After a very late night on arrival, partly because we got very lost trying to find the hotel, then a pleasant meal in the centre (try the Jazz Garden, good live music, good food at reasonable prices, stays open late) we woke late and after three of us using one shower eventually got down to breakfast at five to ten to be informed by a very grumpy woman that we had less than five minutes to eat. At precisely ten a gate was locked at the entrance of the breakfast room and the TV switched off, to make the point. I noticed later that at reception was a notice saying breakfast was until 9.59am! Not very relaxing. Budapest does not seem to welcome visitors. We hadly ever saw a smile from waiters etc. Also we were nearly run down several times by drivers coming too close at speed from behind, even in the pedestrianized Palace gardens. Maybe it was the heat.

This hotel is quiet and clean, staff was helpful but not speaking English very well. The only inconvinience is that ,they don't have elevator to go to the room and one has to carry baggages on the stairs

I had a fantastic weekend with my adult daughter in Budapest. The hotel was really clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was very light and airy, and very quiet, exactly as described on the website. The area that the hotel is in is lovely, very green with lots of trees and interesting buildings. It's quite easy to get to the central part of the city near the river on public transport - you can take the metro from "Nagyvarad Ter" which is 10 minutes away (max) on foot. There are also trams running close by (5 mins walking). We bought a 3-day travel card ("Turistajegy") which covers all travel on public transport - buses, trams and metro. It costs 3100 forints and is really useful. The only thing we couldn't use it for was the bus to Statue Park (not the special bus, the public transport bus from Etele Ter - much cheaper). Would definitely advise buying a travel card instead of the much-advertised "Budapest Card". The closest metro stop to the hotel is "Nagyvarad Ter" on Metro line 3. When you leave the station, walk on to Orczy ut. and follow the road round to the left. You'll walk past a tram stop (number 24 - runs to the main train station Keleti pu.) Take the third right off Orczy ut (Benyovsky Moric ut), then take the second left on to Blathy otto ut. The hotel's just a short way down on the right hand side. Breakfast is included and has everything you'd expect. Pay in cash (forints) at the hotel to avoid 3% city tax. There's a lovely garden behind the hotel too, we sat there one night with a great bottle of local wine. The staff were happy to switch the lights on outside and accommodate us despite the fact that it was past 10pm. Top tip is Rivalda Restaurant in the castle district, just off Szent Gyorgy Ter, stunning food and reasonable price for set lunchtime menu.

Perfect stay for families with small children or elder people. However it looks simply on the map the location is not so easy to be found for the first time. Spacious and quiet rooms and reach breakfast. We would recomend it to our friends.

Additional charge for safe deposit box. They wanted to charge us also for air conditioning but we refused. The property lies in an isolated spot of the city and far away from public transport.

I WILL SAY THAT OVER ALL MY STAY WAS ENJOYABLE. AT THE TIME OF CHECK-OUT JUST BEFORE MY TRAIN CONNECTION I WAS FACED WITH HAVING TO RUN TO AN ATM MACHINE TO PAY FOR MY LODGING. THE HOTEL CHARGES 10% EXTRA IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD BASED ON THE AMERICAN DOLLAR. THE ASKED WHY I DIDN'T HAVE THE CASH. JUST BE AWARE TO USE A EURO BASED CC OR PAY IN HUNGARIAN FUNDS.

Good little hotel. Was cheap - you could pay in cash (the price quoted on Venere) or by card (which was more). We shared a three person room - was spacious. Air con was extra mind and in August it did get quite hot (us poor students opted to go without). Please bear in mind the hotel is far from the main train station - 40mins work, although is near two metro stops on the green line. Get a budapest card and getting to and from this hotel will be no problem.
