I spent just one night. It was hard to find a place of hotel because it is suited on one of floors of strange and old building. There is no obvious rout direction from the street that is hotel here. Girl on desk was very nice and accomodative. If would spend just a night\two for small amount, that is ok. I would not stay again.

Very nice stay in total: Friendly staff, free bottle of wine in the room at the check-in, rooms are clean and large. It was a little bit hard to find first time though.

I wish would you the hotel entrance a little better marked, it can be seen from a distance. The hotel is much better than we expected. The location is fantastic. Every time when we were in Budapest, we will always stay in the BCC.

Great value! Staff very helpful. Good location for metro/trams. Inc breakfast at cafe on corner. Beware - only twin beds and very firm beds; basic, large clean room and bathroom. More than happy, would return.

This is a small hotel but very very nice, very clean , very quiet, very close to any attarctions, you can avoid to take transports because every place is near. The staff is very kind and always smiling!!! The relation between price and quality is excellent!!! I stayed 3 nights and I will recommend it and I will come back again!! Nicoletta

We really enjoyed our stay at the Karoly Central - the location is perfect for sightseeing, the rooms are modern and clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The only downside is the breakfast arrangements, which changed after I had made the booking -you get a sandwich and drink in a nearby cafe. There is no variety, you will get fed up having sandwiches for breakfast and will probably still feel hungry afterwards!

Breakfast is the only negative point : provided outside the hotel and menu composed of sandwiches only. An international breakfast available at the hotel would be more convenient (tourists expect to take time and enjoy large choice).

Very hard to find : the hotel is in a courtyard, greyish and shabby. It is said to be on first floor, eventually you have to climb too sets of stairs (there is a 1F and a 1) and no sign is provided to help. This said, it's a very quiet place right in the center, near all the subways (use Astoria Station, not Deak Ferenc Ter).-, people are really nice and try to make your stay easier.

Great location--easy walk to many sites and nearby subway station makes everything easily accessible. Staff was great-personable, helpful, very friendly. I didn't know what to expect for breakfast after reading previous reviews. It's included in room price and is at a nearby cafe with good food and friendly people. The arrival was as confusing as others have found it. What people need to understand is that the hotel is only ten rooms on one floor in a multi-floor and multi-use building. Entrance from the street is into a rather shabby looking courtyard. Then you have to go up a few stairs to access the really small elevators which take you up to a hallway from which you eventually access a very small hotel lobby. However, what you get for putting up with all this is a spacious, clean, air conditioned, and well-maintained room.

I am an American living overseas. My husband, 2 year old son, and I spent a week in Budapest. The hotel staff was warm & welcoming & extremely helpful. They spoke English very well. There was a complimentary bottle of local wine waiting for us in our room, with a wine opener & glasses. There were complimentary cookies/teas in the reception area (very small, no public areas to speak of in the hotel). Breakfast was tasty & delivered to our room at the time we requested each day. Not a broad menu, but decent and the service was great. The hotel was a little hard to find - you take an elevator or stairs from inside a courtyard off the street, then wind your way around the building to the reception area. A detailed map/instructions would be very helpful. The location was excellent for sight-seeing. The Hop-On/Hop-Off tour bus had a stop right outside, at the Synagogue across the street. Easy walk to the Danube (evening & daytime hour-long cruises included in price of Hop On/Off bus pass, which was very reasonably priced & always right on time), Vaci St, Great Market Hall, Andrassy Ave, Opera House, St. Stephen's Basilica, House of Terror, Oktogon. There are lots of restaurants/fast food in the area. Budapest is a well laid out city, very easy to navigate. Good customer service everywhere. Very friendly people.

Excellent place to stay at. Provides great value for money. Walking distance to city center sights. Only issue is that it's hard to locate once you're at the address. Seems a bit shady when you get there the first time, but don't let that put you off. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are quite spacious. Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was very difficult to find because hotel indication was very small in the entrance of the building and the front desk was 1st floor not on the ground floor. The room was very clean and breakfast was served in my room. It was very sutisfied considering cost and hotel location (center of Pest). In addition, hotel staffs were very kind.

Hotel is in an old apartment building and difficult to find. Our only real problem was that we ordered breakfast (delivered to the rooms) at a specific time to enable us to get to our ferry & the breakfast was very late. Check-in reception was friendly but check-out in the morning was more unfriendly.

My stay at the hotel was great, even welcomed with a bottle of good wine, the room size was all I needed, it is within walking distance to most things and the sightseeing bus stops right behind the building, the staff was great & helpful - I got good advice of places to eat. One negative point - the name it not well indicated & I found the hotel rather difficult to locate, an improvement here is a must. The owners can also upgrade the passage to the reception area - a paint brush van do wonders

Everyone says it's hard to find, and that's true. Károly Körút 3/A is not in the same building as 3B and C, if you follow the street to the next building you'll find the hotel. We had a pleasant stay in a huge room and had some help exploring Budapest from the lovely personnel working at the front desk. They also reserve taxi which I recommend since taxi drivers in Budapest try everything to overcharge. The location is perfect for shopping, dining and taking the tram or metro to one of the bathing facilities in Budapest. It is also in decent walking or taxi distance from the train station taking you to the airport for almost no money at all.

Wonderful staff, very clean rooms, great breakfast. But a little difficult to find. Some larger signs in the ground floor and first floor would help. Great location right next to the synagogue and hop on hop off bus.

Finding the hotel is very difficult (though its location is excellent, next to the synagoge, close to 2 subway stations, turist atractions and central Peste). When you eventualy find the building, it looks quite creepy. But once you actually get to the hotel, it's a very pleasant surprise: the hotel is quite nice, recently refurbished, clean, quiet, people are very friendly, breakfast is served to you in your room at a time of your choosing. I'm very happy with the hotel choise I made.

The hotel is somewhat difficult to find (look for brass plates outside the gates and press 102 to call the desk for entry, then go up entry stairs inside courtyard to red elevators for 3rd floor). Once there, the welcome is genuine and the hospitality superb! Our luggage did not arrive for several days and the hotel made repeated calls to help us keep the airline and shipping office on track. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful. We extended our stay and they only charged us the lower prices that had been instituted since our booking. Breakfast is delivered to your room and is filling and generous, although without variation. Free wifi and/or data connection in room (there is no real public space other than two chairs by the reception desk and a stand with tea). Good location across from the Grand Synagogue; excellent transportation options steps from the door. We left with very fond memories of Dorka and the other staff members, and we recommend the Karoly Central to all.

The hotel was well situated but within a mixed use building. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfasts were brought to the room and this was a big plus. Although the rooms are small, they were well appointed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I really didn't expect that this hotel was that charming. I'm really tired of huge hotels, and this one was just the type I like, not that large, very quiet, with spacious rooms, great surroundings. And I would really like to thank the staff for helping that much to get acquainted with Budapest.

I recently got back from a trip to Budapest. The city was beautiful and my vacation went extremely well. Surprisingly, one of the high points of my stay was the hotel Budapest Karoly Central. It is a small, almost boutique hotel located in the city center right near everything. The building that housed the hotel was from the turn of the 19th century and gave an elegant atmosphere to the whole experience. The room had high ceilings with plaster moldings along the borders, my room even had a balcony that I used. The hotel was extremely clean and furnished nicely. From what the young woman at reception told me, the hotel just opened in May so everything was really in top shape. I brought my lap top and could plug in for no charge (which I liked because the last hotel I stayed at charged me 8 Euro an hour!). The receptionists were very friendly and even made tea for me. One thing that was a pleasant surprise was that a good breakfast was delivered to my room in the morning rather than me having to go to a dining room - breakfast in bed! It was great. Anyway, the folks were really nice and I just wanted to recommend this hotel to any travelers coming to Budapest. A real gem in the center. Thanks guys.
