It was interesting to live on a boat. In first night we took a twin room but obviously it is too small for a couple with a young kid as the bed is extremely small. So next day we moved to a suite which has excellent space. In general I like this hotel, and the breakfast.

Customer service was always very good indeed. Room was small and basic - but what do you expect for the budget price you're paying really? Minus points do need to go to the location. It's a good fifteen minute walk to the nearest metro station, which is about how long it takes to walk down the edge of the river to the parliament building. It takes 25 minutes to get to the chain bridge, 40 minutes to get to the main square with Coin & Hard Rock Cafe. I walked to the castle in Buda one day, going across the Margaret Bridge. Took a good hour... All in all; locations are all in walking distance, but take a pair of shoes with good soles, as you're walking on uneven cobbles for most I the way. I had blisters to prove it!

Overall, Hotel Boat Fortuna is attractive and excellent value for money. The hotel has wonderful views of the Danube, of course. It is quiet - even on road side of boat, because of the double glazing, and everyone on reception was polite and helpful. The superior room was spacious with five huge windows, and the bed was comfortable, although bedding for the double bed consisted of two very flat pillows and two single duvets! The air con worked sufficiently well for cold July spell but might not be enough for very warm weather. There are no opening windows. Breakfast was plentiful with a range of hot and cold food but do not eat in the boat's Lord Nelson Restaurant! The standard of food was very poor. There is an excellent restaurant nearby with a good food and a regular pianist. Ask at reception.

We chose the upgraded room and were really glad we did. We were in the very front of the boat in room #201 with 5 nice picture windows. Excellent unique experience. The only negative is that public transportation is several blocks away, but still very much worth it! Breakfast was good.

very happy with accommodation, my only problem was no picture on television, however, so much to do in Budapest it wasn't a problem. Location was excellent, trams and Metro all nearby, also near Chainbridge for access to Buda
