Hotel Bara Junior - Budapest

Our stay at the Bara Hotel was adequate. Some of the information we read about on Venere.com did not match to what we received from the hotel. It advertised satellite TV - there were 4 stations and none spoke English. It advertised wi-fi and it was only located in the lobby, and a poor connection at that, plus you needed to pay for it. It was noisy....construction started outside our window at 7:30 and we couldn't miss it because our windows were wide open. There is no A/C, and it was quite hot, so we needed our windows open to give us a little breeze while sleeping. The night manager was not helpful either.....he appeared to be annoyed with our questions. Also, we walked a long way to get to our room, dragging suitcases, up many stairs, and we were only on the 1st floor.

Good hotel Not very luxury but with very good ratio price/facilities. Near to the center of the city.

The hotel is near of the Danube, in Buda. But you'll have to walk for 30 minutes. The price/quality relation is very good. It's cheaper than a lot of hotels of the city, the breakfast is good, and you can find very good prices. The rooms are little, but if you only need to bath and sleep there is perfect.

First night we got the room facing the main street, it was very noisy. We asked to change room and we got the one at the back, it was very quiet. The room has no air-condition, so it was very hot, they gave us a fan which helped. The breakfast was great, enough varieties. Location is good. Good value for the price.

Overall it was not bad. The rooms were clean, though noisy. The bus station was just near the hotel and it takes five minuites to the center. The breakfast was diverse and for good quality.The only bad thing was the absence of the elavator to the junior rooms. You have to walk a long distance to the room and overcome a lot of stairs with heavy luggage.

A clean if not small room, but the hotel reception staff are incredibly unwelcoming. Though not in thre centre its easy to get to the centre using the tram or bus - both are only a`5 minute walk away. My tv did not broadcast more than one channel but then I was not there to watch tv.

Dall'Hotel Bara (che è la sede principale dell'albergo) per raggiungere il Bara Junior devi camminare per parecchio tra lunghi corridoi e rampe di scale. Stanze piccolissime... sembrano quelle di uno studentato, più che di un albergo. In compenso il personale è stato gentilissimo e sempre cordiale.

We liked the hotel very much. The service was excellent, rooms were clean and the staff helpful. It is situated just a few bus stops from the city centre. Easy to approach from the motorway M1. Good value for money.

The hotel was in a great location. My only complaint is the room was tiny and noisy because we were facing the street. Other than that, it was as advertised and the employees couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!

Nothing special, but enough clean and comphortable. Good location - 15 min by feet to Palace. Good breakfast. In general - if you need place just for sleeping for reasonable price - this hotel is good choice

It not really far from the center (20 min by feet) but the walk is next to a high way road (dangerous, noisy and polluted) to go to the hotel. No restaurant, no fastfood around. We are a gay couple and we had a two single separated beds ! L'hotel n'est pas trop loin du centre ville (20 min a pied) mais le chemin pour y arriver le long d'une voie rapide est dangereuse, bruyante et polluee. Pas de restaurant ni de fastfood autour. Nous sommes un couple gay et nous avions eu une chambre avec 2 lits individuels separes.

I stayed two nights. Hotel Bara is part of a big (congress)facility.It is +/- 1 km away (uphill) from the Elisabeth Bridge, but a busstop is close to the hotel. (3 stops across the bridge to a connecting Metro station Ferenc Tere). Breakfast offers many choices (juices, types of bread, even pastries) Be prepared to climb many steps for a walk to the castle.
