Very nice hotel in the Castle District - opposite Matthias Church. No.16 bus stops right outside. Warm welcome from staff who spoke good English and happy to help with bus tickets and directions. Breakfast good but a limited choice. Good size room with TV and Air Con.

Great location, although there is a bus which constantly runs past the front door. The Fishermans Bastion is less than 100m from the front door which provides an excellent view over the city. The hotel and rooms are utilitarian but comfortable.

Perfectly acceptable, close to American style. We chose it for convenience to the Vienna highway and parking. The area is tourist-dominated and pretty, but really disconnected from Budapest.

Truly excellent location for the Castle Hill, Buda area and for access to Pest as well (which is why it was a bit noisy but in a good way). Very helpful staff who assisted us plan well. Public transport from hotel also excellent once you know how to use it. Overall great location & value-for-money hotel.

Excellent location, good value for money, clean and spacious rooms (room with a view) and welcoming and competent staff. I would choose this hotel if I'm back in Budapest again.

Surrounding area excellent, although some of restaurants a bit bland, others very expensive. Excellent short break.

The best thing about this property is its location. Right in the center of action for Buda. Two caveats: our square facing room(seemed ideal)was right above a bus stop, very noisey. Second, if you plan on visiting Pest, down the hill and across the bridges, it is a good, long haul and hard to return(walking)uphill after a long day in the city. Good nearby restaurants. Free internet access.

The Burg Hotel is in an excellent position in the major tourist area. Very close to Matthias church, Fishermans Bastion and the Palace. The staff was highly co-operative, competent, friendly and helpful. Good English communication. Breakfast was very good and the Hotel was exactly as I expected from the website information. Highly recommended

We selected this hotel for its location -- right in the middle of Castle Hill, just across the square from St. Matthias' Church and the Fisherman's Bastion (one minute walk). This was, in itself, phenomenal for us. The view of the city from the Fisherman's Bastion is world class -- day or night. The quality of the lobby and facilities, including the breakfast room, and our room itself, was very, very high. The only knock-down, if there is to be one, was the fact there was a faint musty smell in the room we could not get rid of. Late in our stay, we attributed this to a small leak in the bathroom. We alerted the hotel staff to this, but by this time, they would not have been able to make changes that would affect us. Other than that small thing, the room's cleanliness rates a 10. The Burg is on a corner and very easy to spot -- it shows an attractive face and gives an excellent first impression. Though the room itself could be a bit noisy at night, due to the small buses that run quite late and stopped at the corner below our window, we preferred having the wonderful view, even with the minor noise issue. We simply turned our nighttime "sound machine" up a little to cover the street noise. In short, we LOVED the Burg -- and recommend it highly. Thank you for helping to make our stay in Budapest an unforgettable one!

Very good location, breakfast was excellent, helpful stuff. One observation for the tourists arrived by car - at the road barrier you just push the hotel button in order to enter in the old city. Keep the ticket because you will have to validate it at the hotel.

The location is great, a stone throw from the famous view point and 4-5 min to the charming hillside "lift". Next door to Burg will you find a Michelin recommended restaurant; deserve all the stars possible !

The Hotel was very enjoyable, the rooms were beautiful, clean, new and quite big. The breakfast was very good and the location of the hotel was perfect (in front of the Matthias Church). We're living in Zurich/Switzerland, so we appreciate very much quality and price, so we only can recommend this hotel in beautiful Budapest (the hotel is situated in the Buda side of the city, with a very nice view to the city-center of Pest). The hotel-crew was really very kind and helpful and patient and helpful. We were travelling by car and we could park very near to the hotel. When we'll go back to Budapest, sure we will book the same hotel again.

Very nice spacious rooms, a good breakfast buffet, free wifi in the room. Sitiuated in the square of the Cathedral in the castle area of Buda but if you want to go to Pest city-center just jump in the #16 mini-bus that runs nearly every minute and be there in no time.

Location is great as long as you realize it is on a busy corner (mostly during the daytime) Our room was very clean and spacious but the walls are pretty thin. One night we could hear word for word the conversation in the ajoining room. Buda side of Budapest has fewer dining facilities so we seemed to be on the Pest side most evenings.

OUr favorite Budapest hotel--great location, close to public transportation. Very competent staff, very good breakfast. Only drawback: no elevator, making a top-floor (4th floor US count, 3rd floor European count) room a workout.
