Aquamarina Hotel - Budapest

Aquamarina Hotel is ok. It's not a 4 stars hotel, rather a 3 stars, but this overevaluation is common in Budapest. The room is clean and bigger than one would expect from a boat hotel. Our staying was off season, the hotel was empty and got a very good price from venere.com. The room was rather cold (heating not working), had a little fridge and a TV set with 6 channels. Breakfast was poor, either scrambled eggs or sausages, cheap tea, coffee and some margarine. No milk, no butter, no jam, no honey. But for us was enough. The staff was polite and helpfull. The hotel is far from city center, but GPS or Google Maps will get you there if you have a car. If not, look for a hotel closer to city center or city transportation. But this position has its advantages. It's quiet, it's green and the Danube is superbe. Also there is no problem to park your car on the streets nearby.

Location is lovely, full of green and nice places where eating and drinking but a bit far from the city centre.The hotel is nice anyway, clean and the staff very helpful. Good location for the Sziget festival.

The meals on the boat were very good and there was a lot of food. The staff was also nice and helpful. It was a nice setting along the river. It was a little further from downtown Budapest than we thought but we took the ferry which was very convenient and fun.

Lovely hotel! Young, very friendly English speaking staff. I recommend a stay there especially on good weather days. For the price of a single room I was given the large port after cabin (with private door to access boatside gallery and stern patio) because reception staff cared to keep me as far as possible from a wedding party in the bow area of the boat: actually also in stern cabins you could hear all night a bit of music from nearby riverside disco... just fine, free additional fun, for me :-) Good air conditioning. Breakfast is not really 4-star but decently good for the price. Location is on Danube right riverside, in a quiet park neighbourhood with ancient Roman ruins and sport, camping and amusement facilities, about 8 km north of Budapest touristic center: with good weather you can easily go there by bicycle or by cruise boats departing from the boat hotel itself! Not recommended for motion handicapped guests because of the steep and narrow embarkment walkway and lack of lifts onboard. No private parking lot: parking is free in streets nearby (finding a spot close to the boat embarkment is VERY difficult during weekends because of tourists crowding riverside park, restaurants, dancings, etc.).

Very nice place, though hard to reach without a car. It's a pity that it's not possible to open the windows, and that you have to have breaktfast inside although the terrace would be perfect for breakfast. However, very nice staff and it's cheap.

Nice and quiet location. Very friendly staff. Journey to centre by boat very relaxing and easy. Lovely hotel.

I wish I could open the window in the room. The omelet of breakfast is very good.
