The hotel is close to relevant EU buildings and to Schuman underground station. Room prices exceed the allowance for EU officials. Few good restaurants in the surroundings, quite expensive.

The receptions hotel was friendly. The bathroom was pretty big and spacy. Restaurant, bus station and convenient store was only around the corner. They provided coffee but not tea. Maybe it would be nice if the hotel could provide small milk too?. Overall... thank you for the service.

This is not a 4* hotel. In my opinion this hotel has only 2*+. In July and August the price is acceptable(65euro + local taxes). The parking place is very, very small(10 cars maximum), and if you park outside your car can be damaged by the robbers(when i left someone had a problem with the car, someone broke the driver window). You can hear your neighbors. Furniture is very old, TV is old, internet is only at the reception. The prices published for a different period of the year are not acceptable for this conditions(are higher than 250 euro/day).

A competitive price promotion for a 4-star hotel, guess driven by competition as there were quite a number of hotels there. Nice decoration with spacious rooms. Right next to metro station which is convenient for travelling. However, area surrounding the hotel didn't have any shops but a few restaurants & other hotels only which is the only drawback.

Besides the lack of free wifi in rooms, which is not an issue because its free downstairs, the hotel is a really great place, with restaurants nearby, metro a short walk and a staff that will bend over backwards for you

My husband and i used the hotel as a base for the Belgium Grand Prix. It was quite far from the Spa circuit but at the time of booking (January 09) there was very little availability and therefore drove the 1 1/2 hours distance for 3 days. The hotel is a good location for a short stroll to local restuarants, pubs and park areas. We found some fabulous restaurants over our 4 day stay. On our last evening we took a taxi into the main centre, which was fairy reasonable at 8 Euros. We were quite disappointed with the hotel overall, the cleaniess of the room was fantasic and the cleaners came in everyday. We did not find the front of house staff overly friendly or helpful. When we checked out our invoice was more then the confirmed booking printout we had. When we asked about this, we were told there is a city tax which is charged daily by the hotel, which we were un-aware about at the time of the booking, this added on an additional 30 euros. The guy was very dis-interested and shrugged his shoulders.

Hotel rooms are very good, modern design, good beds, good bathrooms, quiet location, non smoking floors. Reception and common areas are less attractive. The hotel offers free parking at their garage - which is excellent. Garage is rather small and outdated but the free parking is interesting. No free parking possibilities in the neighbourhood. Dutch girl at the reception was friendly and competent. Other receptionists were below the average. Apparently speaking Dutch in this hotel is apparently not much appreciated.

This hotel did not bother to reserve a room for my husband so he was sent to another hotel which was not one he would have chosen. There is no point me taking the time to chose a hotel if the hotel does not bother to reserve a room. I consider this to be very poor indeed.

Extremely pricey hotel (20 EUR extra for the breakfast, 4 EUR for a sip of mineral water from the mini-bar, a small can of beer goes for 6 EUR). Especially when you take into account the dreary and dull rooms that desperately need renovation: the main light was only hanging on one hook and made the impression of falling down any time; windows could only be closed with a lot of force; cracks in the walls and the door, tapestry worn and torn, furniture obviously in use since the middle ages...

Good hotel, but without aircondition. Breakfast was good. On front of the hotel underground train railway, which with open windows make it very noisy. At overal with that price it was a good hotel. Near hotel are many restuarants.

Overall it was ok, but I was very angry by the time when we had to leave we found a ticket on my car wind screen. It was a parking ticket. I`ve parked the car in front of the hotel where was several parking places and I didn`t know we had to pay because the hotel employee`s didn`t bother to tell us they have a private parking with no extra cost. They shoul be more intrested about their clients stay.

We stayed for 3 nights for sightseeing. The room was very quiet, it was clean and comfortabel, the facilities o.k - only the bed is rather too small for large people! The breakfast-buffet offered a wide selection, but the service was slow: the customers had to ask for anything that ran out at the buffet, what was quite a nuisance. It is only a short travelling distance by underground between the hotel and the city. We recommend the hotel to people, who want to see a lot of the city, but prefer a hotel in quiet surroundings with solid comfort.

We stayed here just 1 night before we caught our plane the next day. We picked it last minute and got it for a really inexpensive rate. The room rate on the door was 325 EUR per night, but we paid nothing close to that. It had a really nice size bathroom which was a refreshing change from shared baths we had at some of the B&B's we used. We didn't really do anything in the neighborhood, but were able to catch our the train at the station up the road (by the Subway) for free since we could use our Eurail pass. But you could also use the subway for fairly cheap. We did go to the Irish bar down the road, and they were really nice. We just ordered some beers and fries.

Great location to get around brussels within a few metro stops, excellent price to quality relationship. The only weakness is the breakfast buffet: for 21€ € extra we found it was a rip off in terms of quantity and quality/freshness. Prefer to have breakfast in town a lot of places offer this possibility for cheaper and better quality.

A nice Art Nouveau room in a neat 4-star hotel of the European district of Brussel. The surroundings were a bit too calm (because of the WE) but near the Schuman subway station and the price we paid for 3 nights there was very attractive compared to the regular fare. Conclusion : a hotel mainly catering to businessmen and Eurocrats during the week that fits perfectly well for people wanting to visit Brussel for a WE.

Convenient location next to EEC, Metro 5min max. Ok local bars/restuarants, plenty of Italian, but also German, Vietnamese, Chinese, Greek style bars/cafe. Rooms clean, spacious with good en-suite. Breakfast available, but book in advance at 10e, otherwise 19e on day, making it rather expensive. Local cafe/bars ok for conti. b/fast. 4 stops to city centre on Metro. central Brussels ok, but went primarily for music concert. Note, No food markets on Sunday, limited other outlets. Overall comfortable bed, convenient position, clean rooms, exc shower, air conn. if required, fridge for the choclate!

The hotel is excellent in general. The quality and price are very good (we stayed 2 nights in christmas 2006 and paid 120 euros in total). The room and the bathroom are very spacious, clean, and well decorated. The hotel is in a convenient location, next to the European Union headquarters, and 5-minute walk from the Schuman metro station, which can take you anyware in Brussels. We arrived by car, which we kept in the hotel car park free of charge. The staff were friendly and helpful and give us some tourist information, and a city map. My only complaints are the following: when we arrived at the hotel we were waiting almost 10 minutes outside because the person at the reception was talking on his mobile and did not open the main door for us. The breakfast is expensive. There was also a lot of noise at 7am because they were reparing one of the lifts! Apart from that it was a pleasant stay. If we returned to Brussels we would stay again at New Hotel Charlemagne.

Pretty normal Hotel, next to the european commitee and the subway. It was lound in the morning cause of the renovation of the hotel. But it was clean and cheap. So it is a good place to stay when you want to hang around in the streets of Bruxelles. A nice hotel with the charme of the 70th.

It was a decent hotel at the price of 69 euro a night. The rooms were old and had a bit of a smell. The view was nice and they were large. The metro was about 5 min away and you could get to the center in about 15-25 min. When we stay in brussels we will look for something a little different and perhaps closer to the center square because if you are not neer the center there really isn't that much to see. The hotel is supposed to be remodeled and the new look was nice but it was not remodeled when we stayed. Internet was expensive at 25euro a day.

It's really ok for the price. the rooms are rather confortable. Altough it's not in the very center of the town there's a metro station at 100meters. The elevetor sometimes didn't work but it was due to the fact that they are installing a new elevator and making works of amodernation. All in all I'm satisfied

The hotel is cleanly and ok, but not really four stars level, I would give him in Germany only 3 stars. We had a room for 65 Euros/N. For this money was it not enough comfortable. The furniture is not modern, the stairs from the parking garage is very old, The bathroom is very well. Employees are very friendly. The location is only 4 metro stations far from the center of the city.
