The hotel is a bit worn. The elevators are a bit old and sometimes there was only one working. Breakfast is not very varied, but the dishes are constantly replenished. The location is PERFECT, in the heart of the "Îlot Sacré", and just a few minutes walking to the Grand Place and the Stock Exchange building. Lots of shops and restaurants around. We loved the location!!!

My mother and I spent four days here while exploring brussels, Antwerp and Bruges. Location is great. Easy to walk to central station, the grand place and all over brussels. We never used the metro. We arrived at 8am by taxi and room 312 was available (twin). Would be hard to find the hotel if arriving by train and walking in the dark. The next morning I called down and asked about a higher room with a view and they gave us room 702 top floor...amazing corner room...largest ever hotel room I've ever stayed in Europe. They did not charge an upgrade fee either! Breakfast was wonderful. Eggs, bacon, breads, cheese, meats, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc...not sure why others have reviewed and said the breakfast was just ok. The breakfast is included in the room price and it was yummy every morning with a lovely view over brussels! Another surprise was when I took my iPad down to find out the password for Internet and I was told it was free! The wifi was fast and I was able to face time family...so nice! The reception front desk workers were efficient and accommodating! There was a computer in the lobby as well as a bar. We paid for the coffee tea set for our room as we like tea and coffee whenever we are in the room. It was 10 euro per day, however they gave it to us for 10 euro for three days. The only negative part of out stay is the noise from the outside streets...I can't believe who is awake yelling at 3am in the morning! Earplugs helped my mom and I was just exhausted from sightseeing so we were able to get a good night's sleep. However, if noise bothers you...this place might not be for you. The room and location for the price made the noise bearable. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back. I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located behind the center, in the most beautiful zone of Brussels, close to shops, restaurants and pubs. It 'a 3 stars hotel that is not worth one more star, it's old, with only essential services. The room where I stayed was a tomb devoid of light, hot and noisy at night; cleaning is just enough, breakfast is served on the seventh floor with a pleasant view over the roofs of the palaces on the Grand Place. In general, there are certainly many other hotels nearby with a much better value for money. I would not go back.

We needed 2 rooms with twin beds & were accomodated. Location was a little dicey - but close to where the restaurants and souvenier shops were.....I thought breakfast was quite nice. The rooms were quiet & clean; we stayed 2 nights. Only problem was a new 'closing of street' which made getting from train station to hotel - difficult - taxi left us to manuever a couple blocks of rough cobblestone streets. THEN, only way to get taxi to pick us up for train station 2 days later was to walk to find taxi and bring them to hotel. Hope Brussels is able to work with hotels to make this easier for next traveler. As pictured - bathroom is small.

The room was a good size, decorated well and clean. The bathroom was clean and functional though its bath/shower fittings were a bit dated. The view from the 4th floor room of the city hall and other landmark buildings was amazing and it was even better from the seventh floor breakfast room. To get a hotel this close to the Grand Place offering this standard and including breakfast for the price was a pleasant surprise. To be honest I was expecting a lot less given some previous experiences in Brussels of much higher prices further away from the centre. So I would stay there again.

The hotel is located in a small lane close to Grand Dam which is in the old area of Brussels and very charming. Shops, restaurants and the Christmas markets were close by. The bed was was comfortable and the room was adequate as was the bathroom. They were both clean and well maintained. We didn't spend much time in them as we wanted to see as much as we could of the city. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming and a computer terminal was provided for guests in the lounge free of charge. Breakfast was included and was quite substantial with bacon and eggs as well as cereal and continental breakfast. I thought it was good value and would stay there again

It is located very near the Grand Place, and form the St Humbert's Galeries. Not free internet. The rooms are clean and in a very good conditions. It has elevator, breakfast included and a very beautiful landscape. Breakfast of good quality. Good price for the offered items.

We can only think that the third star has been awarded due to the location and the welcoming reception/foyer/bar and the fact the hotel offers WiFi/internet. In our opinion it's a "2-star" establishment. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful, but there were other things lacking. For instance, our room (a triple on the 6th floor, no 611) didn't have a safe, although the room descriptions on various websites state there should be one. Beds are comfortable, but pillows aren't. The carpet in our room was stained in places and there were stains from previous leaks in the ceiling. When we put the air-con on there was a stench in the room as if there had been a sewer near to the vent so we had to switch it off. The hotel should see to these things as a matter of urgency. There was a fair amount of street noise to be heard, even with the windows closed and being on the 6th floor (7 floors in total). The general cleanliness of the room and bathroom was good. The breakfast buffet was alright and the room offered a splendid view of the City Hall on Grand Place. However, pictures of the buffet on websites and in the hotel lifts had led us to believe there would be boiled eggs, but there weren't any. We were very disappointed by this as we felt the hotel was misleading it's guests by the pictures published. Also, the breakfast hostesses could be a bit more welcoming when they're moving around clearing and refilling. A smile and a greeting wouldn't hurt, not to mention how unsuitable it is to be openly chewing and popping gum whilst putting out the croissants! Apart from this our group would probably consider staying in this hotel again, as you cannot fault the location one bit. Five minutes walk to Brussels Central station (one stop from Midi and Eurostar). About the same to Manneken Pis. Grand Place is around the corner. Bars, restaurants, shops and sights in the area. Value for money was OK, if not brilliant. We were expecting a better room standard for the price.

We only stayed in brussels for one night and to be honest that was enough, we were in Brugges for four nights and there was no comparsion ,did not like the surrondings to this hotel, when we got into our room there was no towels for us when we told reception we had to go down and get them ourselves, not on, was so not worth the money we paid and would not recommond it. I will say one good thing the breakfast was excellent and had some great views of the city.

Unfortunately ,the Arlequin had overbooked and there was no double room available for us so we were sent to a "sister hotel", the Floris Avenue. Although this was an upgrade with good facilities, it was further from the centre, which is one of the reasons we booked the Arlequin in the first place!! However, we would stay in either of the hotels again and would recommend them as the centre of Brussels lends itself to exploration on foot! I have reviewed the Floris Avenue and given 1 for rooms available!

It has been refurbished since those pictures were taken and it looks very modern and clean. The location is superb, one block off the Grand Palace square. Breakfast was average, but was included in price and came with a nice view from the 7th floor. Overall, I thought this was a great value given its location - I would stay here again.

Convenient location close to Grand Place. The included breakfast in the 7th floor dining room was varied and very good. Rooms were clean. Staff at front desk was friendly and helpful, always willing to answer our questions and requests. This was our first visit, and I would definitely stay here again. A nearby restaurant worth checking out: Chez Leon, just down the street. Good, reasonable meals. Did not try to gauge the tourist.

room was tiny with very low ceiling (2.1m). There was no air conditioning, but what appeared to be the air-conditioning system for most of the hotel was near our bedroom window pumping out noise and possibly hot air into our room. Breakfast was chaotic, not enough room for the number of tables, and not enough staff. Location was, however, excellent.

Optimal location and really beautiful view from the restaurant room! But he pictures reproduce only the best rooms. In particular, you have to ask for a quiet room in advance, if wished. At the moment (May 2007), the hotel experiences a restructuring: the prices became much higher, the quality has still to follow (e.g., plastic curtain in the shower). Old problem: the windows cannot be closed properly (hence, occasionally draught and/or noise). Very kind and friendly staff.
