Pros: Location to Central Station. 5 minutes walk to Grand Place. Some balcony rooms. I felt safe walking around the area. The small fridge was nice to have in the room. Elevator/lift so you don't have to carry luggage up stairs. Cons: Wifi service was spotty as was the TV reception and the printer in the common area. I could not print up my own boarding pass, but they finally managed to print it for me via email. Had it been busier at the desk at the time, it's doubtful that I would have been able to receive this attention. There only seemed to be one person on duty at a time. My electronic key worked once before I had to go down and have it reset - 3 days in a row. This was a nuisance. Smoking rooms smell especially to a non-smoker! The room was a very small smoking room. I requested non-smoking, but I'm not clear on whether or not they even offer that. They ought to! The bed seemed old and was rather hard and a little lumpy, but was serviceable (my expectations are never too high with regard to the comfort of European hotel beds in comparison to North American ones). My balcony was great because I had the right kind of weather to utilize it and it doubled the size of my single room. The room was so small that it was difficult to walk around the single bed to get to the patio door. The bathroom was almost as large as the room itself. Finding food directly near the hotel was not easy especially early in the morning or later at night, but the Grand Place was not too far. The staff was multi-lingual and willing to help, but only at a 2 - 3 star service level. That is to say, they would help if and when they could fit you into what ever else they were doing, but they couldn't anticipate your needs. I would recommend this hotel if you need to get in and out of Central Station quickly or often with a minimum of fuss. I would not recommend this hotel for stays lasting more than a few days.

The hotel is in a bad part of the city ( Central Station) and the four star not fit to the hotel room ( little and with old furniture). The workers of hotel was kind.

I only stayed in this hotel for one night with my wife on our way back from Bruges. We had an early flight (7.15am) from Charleroi. Hotel Centrale lived up to it's name as it is within a few minutes walk from all the central attractions. The staff were very helpful and there was free Wifi and access to the PC and printer in the lobby. The entrance to Central station and Metro is on the same street only 2 or 3 doors down. This is very convenient if you have a rail pass as it can get you to Charleroi by 6.20am. This wasn't early enough for us but it was only €10 by taxi at 4.10am to Midi station to get the second bus at 4.30am which got us to the Airport by 5.45am. This hotel was peaceful and suited our needs. It was good value too at only €64 for the room for one night. The noise of traffic through the air conditioning vent was the only thing I could fault it for but my wife didn't notice this at all.

The room was very small but quite clean, so was the bathroom, but expected something more from a 4 star hotel, considering the price that was not so cheap. I asked for a double but I got two single twin beds with single bedding. There was some noise from outside cause the hotel is located very close to "Gare Centrale" on a travelled street.

It is an old hotel, the room was too small more than expected.it needs some refurbishment, but very centrally located next to central station and 2 minutes walk to the grote platz. The cleanliness of the room can be improved, the location was the best of the hotel, and the reception staff treatment indeed Hotel viejo, la habitación era muchísimo mas pequeña de lo esperado .necesita algunas reformas, pero muy céntrico. Junto a la estación central y a 2 minutos de la grote platz . La limpieza de la habitación mejorable, no se esmeraban mucho la verdad. Lo mejor ,junto a la ubicación, el trato del personal de recepción

Centrally located, but very old, room not very clean (mold in the bathroom), noisy street out front, staff seems to be annoyed by guests, rather than helpful

I had reserved a single standard room but was allocated a very comfortable suite. Although the hotel is in a busy location close to the central train station my room was at the back and was quiet. Breakfast buffet looked expensive but there are many cafes near by. A very good, conveniently located hotel.

Very well located, short walk from station and the center of town. excelent actualy. everything was as to be expected for the price. The Staff were very helpful. The only downside was the internet. It wasnt working correctly, so they gave the connection for free???? What's the point!!!! We would go back again.. Just for its location and price.

This is an expensive hotel for what it offers - decent European standard rooms in a central location, no more or less. The coffee at breakfast is awful - even English hotels usually do better than this.

Very conveniently located (a few steps to downtown Brussels and the metro to the EU headquarters is at your doorstep). Style is on the elegant 1900s side, rooms spacious and quiet. If you arrive at Gare Centrale (from the airport), take the underground passage towards the metro station, the exit at the metro will take you straight to the front door of the hotel. To my surprise, breakfast was included in the price although Venere's website stated otherwise.

Very good hotel, I have stayed there for business and pleasure and I would certainly recommend it. The location is excellent for all the key sites and it is right next to a metro stop so you can travel anywhere in the city with ease.

Lovely friendly boutique hotel about 10 steps from the underground entrance to the central station and a 10 min walk from Grand Square. Our room not suitable for family as too small but they may have larger. Breakfast service excellent. Good internet access available in hotel free of charge. On expensive side but still value for money considering location. Hotels right in Grand Square were much more expensive.

The hotel is very well located but it is in a very noisy street. After the first night they switched me to another room in the back, very quiet at night but since they were refurbishing a building, at 6,30 am workers started their job. Rooms are very spacious, breakfast is great and the staff of the hotel is friendly and efficient. I will visit Brussels again in few months and I will stay at Hotel Centrale again.

The room unfortunately was not freshly renovated - stains on the carpet and chairs but otherwise really very comfortable and minor repairs (lightbulb, lamp) were done instantly. Great value, convenient location, very friendly staff.

Very convenient location relatively Central Railway Station and the most popular tourist attractions. Metro and taxi stand are within one minute proximity. Quiet and safe environment. The size of double rooms may vary from small and inconvenient (with small wardrobe without shelves and tiny hall) to semi suite spacious apartments. There is no room service at all but free Internet access from the hotel computer as wells as self service corner in the lobby are the great advantages. Breakfast is good and coffee machine can produce various drinks to satisfy your demand.

The hotel has a good situation, near the Central Station and between lower city (Grand Place) and upper city (Parc de Bruxelles), both at 500m. Room is spacious (for european standards) and comfortable. Although the hotel is situated in a heavy-traffic street (most in rush hours) the room was very quiet. Very good breakfast, free internet access. For its price, the hotel offers an excellent quality overall.

The room we were originally assigned to was occupied, but they fixed the problem very quickly: they gave us a larger room for the same price. Location is very convenient, walking distance to most of the touristic attractions and restaurants. Breakfast is very good, staff is extremelly polite and friendly. We would definetely go back to this hotel.

We could get a very discount rate, so it was not bad, but if for normal price (over 200euros per night), it is too expensive for this property.

In spite of the fact that we were originally assigned to a room that was occupied, the stay was fantastic. They put is in a large room after the mix-up, but with the same rate. The breakfast is fantastic and they don't skimp at all, even offering extra kiwi. Central location is ideal. Staff very, very nice. Highly recommended!!!!

Very nice hotel, I would definitely like to go back to this hotel. The internet service is not very effective and the nearest internet cafe is not anywhere nearby to the hotel. I was impressed by the hospitality and the breakfast.

First time I stayed at the Hesperia. The hotel is well located centrally and very close to the central station and the Grand Place. The room are nice, however pretty small. Breakfast really good. The hairdrier was broken and they did not have a replacement, which was unfortunate. The only issue was that they quoted a room price for the prolongation of the stay and in the end they charged us €40 more! I believe this was pretty unprofessional, so I suggest to get quotes in writing all the time.

Nice and comfortable rooms. But the breakfast was not up to the standard of the hotel. The situation was convenient, not far from the Grand Place and next door to a metro stop. But I'd probably want to try something a bit different if I went again e.g. a prettier location.

Location is very convenient - just across from Centrale train station and easy walking distance to the Grand Place, museums, shops, etc.. Breakfast was simple, fresh and good. Room was a bit small but fine for one person. There was some street noise, though not to a level that was disturbing to my sleep. There is an elevator to all floors, and a computer with free internet in the lobby.

I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is well located - one minute from the Gare Centrale and 5 minutes from the park by the Royal Palace. The room was a little small, and the hotel is on quite a busy road; however I slept well. The breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will choose to return to the Hesperia Gran Place.

I was charged €22 for one 10 minute international call at night to Ireland. I consider this to be outrageous, since phonecalls within the EU should cost less than €0.5 a minute at that time of day.
