About Hotel Aristote

hotel front view Hotel Aristote hotel front view Welcome to the Aristote hotel, situated at a stone's throw from Grand Place and the Gare du Midi train station in Brussels, in other words quite near the Place Rouppe.

This family run Brussels hotel is housed in a 19th century building with a beautiful ivory facade, with nice views over the rooftops of the Capital of Europe. Many cafes and shops are located in the surrounding streets, as well as Anneessens underground station and tram no. 3, 55, 81, making travelling in town an easy job!

The experienced management combined the modern comfort of the hotel with a tavern-restaurant-pizzeria complex based on a medieval theme inspired from Dante's famous work, La Divina Comedia, whilst the friendly staff will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Clean and comfortable, very central, easy to reach from Gare Du Midi, cheaper than the average Brussels hotels. it was a wonderfull stay. My single room was on the 4th floor looking on Stalingrad Strasse: wonderful view of the city! One single negative side: heating is excessive, rooms are very hot (i had to keep the window open while i was out)

A small room and small windows, but kind of cute. The free internet worked well. Not much to say about the place.

A part ça, rien à redire.

Rooms are pretty small but clean. Breakfast is really good and abundant. Very good location: 5 minutes on feet from the city center, 200 m to the underground station

The room was small & blind, but I ask for a quiet room... The Hotel is more a one star than a two star. Breakfast is ok and you've got free access to Internet with a computer (low debit). Good location, 5 min walk from the heart of Brussel.

If you search for a cheap hotel in an easy location, were you can spend a quiet night, Hotel Aristote is the real Mac Coy. Just two remarks : wifi is not operational in every bedrooms, and some single have no window opening on the outside : but if you don't suffer from claustrophobia...

Despite this hotel is close to the public transport as well as to the City Centre, the direct surrounding area of the hotel is not really good. The room was rather old-fashioned equipped and used up. However it was clean, but very small. The reception desk clerk was very friendly and competent.

Overall found this a fine hotel for a one night stay. It was by no means a four star hotel, but the staff were exceptionally friendly. It is walking distance (about 20 minutes) from the Eurostar station (NOTE: a taxi will charge at least 10€ and there are no information services in the station after 5pm). I was also very pleasently surprised that it was a nice walk to many of the city's attractions. I even walked to the European Parliament which took about 45 minutes with few stops on the way. One challenge I did find was locating a good restaurant in the area, though I did not ask at the desk, but rather just took it upon myself to walk around and find one. Also, I did not try the inhouse restaurant as I thought it would be better to get out and see the area. Overall I would stay again for another short stay.

This hotel is not a 3stars but only 2. Small, not very clean. No restaurant (on the contrary of what is claimed on the web site). Free Wireless connection but impossible to capture the signal that is certainly stop during the night! Won't go there in the future.

For Brussels, the hotel is probably a pretty good value for the low price. Very basic, but real close to public transport and to the center.

The recepcionist worker should be taught to be more pleasant with the new customers. During my stay, three people tried to steal me in the surrounders of the hotel.

La localización céntrica del hotel y la facilidad de transportes son 2 de las ventajas más destacables de este hotel. El desayuno está bien y la limpieza es correcta, aunque es algo antiguo

Needs serious refurbishment. Staff is not so kind, but they are not bad people, I think they just do not care. The breakfast is OK for the price (thermos with american coffee, artificial juice, great croissants). They had no information of my reservation when I arrived. The location is convenient next to a metro station. The cleaning was not ideal, the bathroom was a disaster, with rust spots all over the floor & walls, the waste basket looked like a war survivor; I am sure it was clean, but the impression it gave was terrible. I am happy I only had to stay here one night. Pictures on web are OK but reality is diferent. Sheets were clean, but the cover...

Everything is good,or not bad, except size of the room. It was small. But clean and quite quiet (However it was the period of EURO 2008). Location of this hotel is nice. Good to acsess to the central area, but quiet. I like this area.

the 3 stars of the hotels are clearly too much. It should be less than two. as consequence, the price should not exceed 50 euros

Room was on 5th floot. Small but efficient elevator. No dresser in room. Table was brought to put a TV on. TV did not work during stay. Room had been recently renovated but was stark. Had to ask for towels and waste basket. Agreed to reduce rate from 100 Euros to 90 because of deficiencies. Paid 85 after checking with owner.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this hotel. The way it was presented on the Venere and what it really offers are completely inconsistent. I checked out of the hotel as soon as I found another decent one, 3 hours afrter I arrived. The rooms offered are below human dignity, very shabby, dirty, pillows stinking with other people's sweat (even though the pillow cases were clean). The hotel surroundings are quite scary and unsafe. All in all, NEVER, EVER book this hotel. I payed two days pennalty, at prices higher from the ones booked, for the 3 hours my luggage spent there, and it was all because I trusted VENERE implicitly. Get you act together Venere, check the hotels you offer yourselves before you con people into staying at dumps like these!!!!

The price was drawn from my account twice. First when I got a confirmation message about my reservation via Internet two days after my booking request(08/05/2008). I called the hotel and the man assured me it was just a security check and we (in Hungary) might have another banking system and the main thing is that the €90 were not drawn from my account. On my arrival on 14/05/08 €90 were drawn again from my account. After having talked to the bank I asked the young receptionist to send a fax message to the Bank Card Dpt and write that the €90 blocked on 8th May should be released. Finally he promised me to send a fax to the bank. Though, more than a week passed by, it has not happened, yet. I'm going to wait till 5 p.m. today and if nothing happens I'm gonna launch a bank card complaint.

Hotel very far from european standard.Rooms small , old and not really clean. it is better to not say about the bathroom..paying a littel more it is possible to find many other accomodation of much higher quality. To be honest, good position w.r.t. the down town , about 10 minutes by walking from the center.

A basic, but perfectly adequate and comfortable service at a very low price, within easy walking distance of central Brussels. My one niggle was the lack of a bath towel the first night (there was one for the second), but apart from that, all was fine.

I stayed at a single room with a bath tub, which can only be used as a shower. The room is small with only one very small window. Though, the hotel stands 15 min walk from Grandprass. You can enjoy walking around the center of the city. I recommend this hotel to young single traveller.

Location is a bit further down from the Central station than expected, but still close to everything. Got a very small room with hardly any ventilation (one small attick type window looking at the back staircase). The TV did not work and the shower hot water handle was stuck. The young receptionist was very nice and 'receptive' but could not fix neither problem! (it was 10pm). He tried programming the TV but the problem was that it was using the wrong cable and did not have any replacements. There were no other rooms available according to him so I had to live with what was offered. The hotel is ok but could have been better, such as being able to offer a real solution for an issue like the shower. Also the hotel sign says it is 3 stars, but a rating sticker by the door by an official survey says it is a 2 stars. You get what you pay for.
