Aristote hotel is an old buiding, badly kept, the self service breakfast is not very good and the dining room atmosphere is strange. I paid 52 € for a single room, it's too much the rather poor quality of this hotel, I do not really enjoy my stay even if the location is good (central and convenient for visiting Brussel)

We have had a very nice stay at the Aristote Hotel. Good location not far from the center of Brussels (10 minutes' walk), nice staff, very good breakfast and not expensive for the amount offered (buffet breakfast). Quiet hotel. Only negative point was the bathroom where the showertube was broken and it was difficult to get a nice shower ... the water was either too hot or too cold .... no way in between. very nice place for budget visitors of Brussels.

1) Breakfast has to be booked one day in advance. 2) The bed was of very good quality. 3) Saturday night was impossible to sleep because of the music coming from a pub in the square nearby. 4) It's very close to the Annessens metro station, 1 minute walking distance. 5) Very close to the main city centre (5 minutes walking from the Bourse and 6 minutes from Grande Place). 6) I paid an average of 73Euros per night - considered the high cost of living in Bruxelles and the fact that it is a 2 stars hotel, the right price would have been 50Euros per night. Considered the location I decided to vote the overall stay with a 7 mark.

I understand that this hotel is a budget option, but it is of a very low standard. I was in a room on the 5th floor, which was small, sparse and mean. When I think of this hotel I just think 'mean' - the owners have put little thought and little consideration into the experience of their guests. Fortunately, I wasn't staying there longer as I would have sought somewhere else. All in a poor experience.

Well, the hotel is not cheap in general (when you know the prices in Italy or Germany), but in comparison to other hotels in Brussels, it is one of the cheapest and it offers the quality as for one of the cheapest. On the other hand, the services is OK. This is a good hotel for one night.

The hotel is in a good place and the staff is professional and English-speaking, although I was dissatisfied because of the problems that occured during two days. After first night I had a headache because of the lack of fresh air (there was only one small window in my room, outside there was a wall of another building half a meter away from the window, so the air circulation was very poor). I went for a shower but there was no water. When I went to the reception, they excused me and informed that they wanted the plumber to make his repairs (but they did know very well that I will use the water because I ordered a wake-up, so it's obvious I would like to go to take a shower!). I begged for another room, with a little bit more of fresh air, and I have been given the room, I waited patiently for preparing it. It's a pity they hadn't given me this romm earlier (I made the booking week before - does it mean that I don't need a room with air?). Then it occured that I cannot open the door in this new room - there was a need of repairing the locking system. When I came back at night, I realised I could not put the lights on. I changed the bulb but still it was not working. The reception behaved very well, they solved this problem as all previous problems, but I was dissatisfied that so many bad experiences occured during such a short stay. I lost some hours because of that. I hope they will manage to make a progress or maybe I had bad luck and it never happens with other guests. I think other guests were very satisfied so remember that maybe it's only my case and the general experience of other guests is very positive.

My first time (and will be the last time) stayed at Hotel Aristote, I've booked the single room for one night. The room is very small(look like a jail), a small window and very bad smell in the room. I've tried to search for the other hotels but all are full. So that night I couldn't sleep for the whole night and had to use the blanket sheet as a mask for breathing...that night was a nightmare! I've been waiting for the sunrise to get out from this room on 6am. I swear to myself NOT to go back again. If you wanna prove my word, try it yourself. The good things are the reception lady is so nice and the location of the hotel is good, that's all...

Very much a budget hotel. Best "extra" was the free use of a computer in the lobby with internet access. Location was not great in the immediate vicinity (kind of run-down, boring)....but, was within wasy walking distance (five minutes) of the Grand Place, and lots of other sites. Close to a metro stop. This would not be our first choice....but, was adequate.

This was my first trip to Brussels. The Hotel was basic and very adequate, except the 7.50 Euro for breakfast was over priced for the quality. If you have trouble with stairs it has an elevator, also good shower. Decorations are depressing but clean. As a single woman I felt very safe in the hotel as well as its location. short walking distance to Grand Place and all things touristy. 20 mins walk to Gare du Midi or 20 mins walk to Gare Centrale. This hotel is just a stones throw from Comme Chez Soi, 5 star Michelin restaurant, supposedly worth the price but not on my budget. A couple of cafes near the hotel that served good inexpensive food and ofcourse great beer!!!!!!!!

This place is small. Small reception area, small rooms, and small stairs. If you plan to spend most of your time somewhere else, it is not a bad place, although noise from the street, other rooms, the stairs, and hallways can easily disturb your sleep. Again, the cost is reasonable compared to many other hotels in the area, and the location is convenient to the Grand Place and downtown Brussels, but I would probably not go back.

Overall found this a fine hotel for a one night stay. It was by no means a four star hotel, but the staff were exceptionally friendly. It is walking distance (about 20 minutes) from the Eurostar station (NOTE: a taxi will charge at least 10€ and there are no information services in the station after 5pm). I was also very pleasently surprised that it was a nice walk to many of the city's attractions. I even walked to the European Parliament which took about 45 minutes with few stops on the way. One challenge I did find was locating a good restaurant in the area, though I did not ask at the desk, but rather just took it upon myself to walk around and find one. Also, I did not try the inhouse restaurant as I thought it would be better to get out and see the area. Overall I would stay again for another short stay.

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this hotel. The way it was presented on the Venere and what it really offers are completely inconsistent. I checked out of the hotel as soon as I found another decent one, 3 hours afrter I arrived. The rooms offered are below human dignity, very shabby, dirty, pillows stinking with other people's sweat (even though the pillow cases were clean). The hotel surroundings are quite scary and unsafe. All in all, NEVER, EVER book this hotel. I payed two days pennalty, at prices higher from the ones booked, for the 3 hours my luggage spent there, and it was all because I trusted VENERE implicitly. The price was drawn from my account twice. First when I got a confirmation message about my reservation via Internet two days after my booking request(08/05/2008). I called the hotel and the man assured me it was just a security check and we (in Hungary) might have another banking system and the main thing is that the €90 were not drawn from my account. On my arrival on 14/05/08 €90 were drawn again from my account. After having talked to the bank I asked the young receptionist to send a fax message to the Bank Card Dpt and write that the €90 blocked on 8th May should be released. Finally he promised me to send a fax to the bank. Though, more than a week passed by, it has not happened, yet. I'm going to wait till 5 p.m. today and if nothing happens I'm gonna launch a bank card complaint.

Hotel very far from european standard.Rooms small , old and not really clean. it is better to not say about the bathroom..paying a littel more it is possible to find many other accomodation of much higher quality. To be honest, good position w.r.t. the down town , about 10 minutes by walking from the center.

A basic, but perfectly adequate and comfortable service at a very low price, within easy walking distance of central Brussels. My one niggle was the lack of a bath towel the first night (there was one for the second), but apart from that, all was fine.

I stayed at a single room with a bath tub, which can only be used as a shower. The room is small with only one very small window. Though, the hotel stands 15 min walk from Grandprass. You can enjoy walking around the center of the city. I recommend this hotel to young single traveller.

Location is a bit further down from the Central station than expected, but still close to everything. Got a very small room with hardly any ventilation (one small attick type window looking at the back staircase). The TV did not work and the shower hot water handle was stuck. The young receptionist was very nice and 'receptive' but could not fix neither problem! (it was 10pm). He tried programming the TV but the problem was that it was using the wrong cable and did not have any replacements. There were no other rooms available according to him so I had to live with what was offered. The hotel is ok but could have been better, such as being able to offer a real solution for an issue like the shower. Also the hotel sign says it is 3 stars, but a rating sticker by the door by an official survey says it is a 2 stars. You get what you pay for.
