The arrangement of the room is not very cosy. The quality of the lights and the view on the toilet from the bed give an atmosphere of sadness.

I did sleep really well in the hotel, but it is run-down in parts. While the breakfast and reception area as well as the room itself were nice, my room faced a rather cramped inner courtyard with old mattresses. Another old mattress was to be found in the corridor connecting the breakfast area and my room. A rather unsavoury, mildewy smell prevailed here. The toilet and shower being directly in the room is awkward. The furniture is very basic. While central, the location of the hotel next to dodgy sex shops and a sort of run-down concrete jungle can be intimidating, especially at night - however I had not problems. Tip: The approach either trough the Botanical Gardens, or around them through rue botanique from the tram/underground stop Botanique/Kruidtuin is much nicer and not longer than from Gare du Nord. At €40 per night, I felt the room was somewhat overpriced. Yes, the hotel was central, but I have stayed for less in hotels of a similar standard in much nicer locations and more sought-after destinations. If you're on a budget, I would suggest either looking even lower down in a hostel, or spending some €10 more per night for a nicer hotel.

This was, by far, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! The room was mouldy, it smelled really dank, the floor was dirty (and was not cleaned at all during our stay there). The bed was, really, two smaller beds stuck together, with the mattresses not fitting the size of the bases underneath, the sheets were too small, resulting in them slipping off immediately. The TV remote control was not working properly (admittedly, this was not a priority, but still). One one day, housekeeping came to make the room up at 6pm, a few minutes after we returned from the morning walk! Breakfast lacked pretty much everything - there were some stale croissants and a bit of bread, no juice of any kind or milk, 1 small packet of chocolate spread! It was close to the centre, but for the price, it was a complete rip-off and I would never, ever advise anyone to stay there again! Under any circumstance! Spend 15 GBP more and stay somewhere else - it's really not worth it!

The quality of the room was poor (heater on the floor, mould in the bathroom, no foot carpet to get out off the shower). The welcoming of the young ladies was great but not from the managing director. And very surprised to have to pay the all stay at check-in. Overall of the stay : disappointed. The only good point is that the place is close to subway station and train station.

Do not expect too much from the rooms. They are and feel old. At my single room there was a bathroom and a toilet but they were only separated with a curtain from the rest of the room. As for the cleanliness the room was ok. The thing is though that everything is just so expensive in Brussels meaning that for the price I paid I consider that the hotel has good value for money, mostly concerning young travellers. Northern from the hotel you will indeed find 'bad' neighbourhoods but don't worry though because all the way from the Rogier metro station or the way from the city centre to the hotel is fine. Last, as for the staff, they were excellent as they informed me and helped me for everything I needed and they were speaking english.

I was on business trip and that week Brussels was out of price. So, the price paid for that night was exaggerated for this kind of hotel. The normal price quoted is correct for the hotel.

The hotel is very old. The rooms are poor and even that offered with private bath, they don't had them. Arrounds are dangerous, a man on the street said us to let nothing visible in the car, because they will broke the glass and steal everything.

I don't mind hotels that are not fancy - I seek them out. HOwever, I expect clean. This place was filthy. The room stank of cigarette smoke, and everything - floors, stairs, walls, etc were visibly dirty. Beds looked dirty, though the sheets and towels were (marginally) OK. Hotel a bit hard to find in the dark, but there is a sign. Reception was not too friendly. Breakfast ( came down at 8, well in the window) was mostly cleared away, the dishes used up and being washed (sloppily) in the sink. the juice was sour or rancid. The lights in the narrow stairwell would not turn on unless you were already partway up them. A disappointment

The Albergo is a good accomodation for cheap accomodation in Brussels. It has big rooms enough for 4 people and is really near to the city centre (Rogier metro station is 5 minutes walking from the hotel). It offers breakfast for 3 € and have basic comforts. It's drawbacks are: a poor cleaningness on the bathroom, and also they didn't tidy up very carefully our room. After the first night, they arranged only one out of the three beds we used. The neighbourhood seems a bit sordid, but is absolutely safe and near to the "brussels manhattan". It's a bit difficult to find the hotel, but an experienced traveller should not have much problems.

The hotel is very cheap for Brussels, sufficiently quiet considering its position near the railway and it was extremely comfortable for the congress I had to attend and also close to the city centre (10-15 minutes on foot). It was not easy to find from the metro stop due to the presence of the train station and the fly-overs which compelled to a detour not clear on the map. Breakfast is rather poor and not well presented. The staff was quite unhelpful and not very kind apart from the only girl who tried to do her best but was rarely there.

When I arrived at the hotel I discovered my room was behind a technical room. The room and the bath room were clean. A lot of noise in the night as some guys come to talk with the receptionnist until about 3 O'clock, and at 7 O'clock this is the noise for the breakfast preparation. By the way, I buy some "Quies" for the next night and it was much better. The breakfast (included in the price) was good. The room was cleaned every day, but at around 5 PM, wich is very late and as I need some rest at this time, very annoying. And last but not least, the wifi connection was poor and unusable at the night. If you just want too sleep (with earplug) and then go out, it's a good price.

This was by far the most dreadful hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The sheets were filthy the room stank of sewage and stale air and it upsets me that a fantastic website like this even allows it on its site. I am not a whinger or a difficult guest but I HAD TO LEAVE IT was so dire!

The hotel was 10 minutes walking distance from the nearest metro station, but easy to find. It had no elevator at all and very narrow stairs, so it was very difficult to reach the last floors carrying any baggage.

Worth the price. This is no luxury hotel and the area is not the best - the actual location is great for access to the centre but the surroundings are a bit dodgy - but for the price in Brussels it was great. No issues at all with the room - everything worked which is unusual at this price point and it seemed recently renovated (so other rooms might be different). Was even quite clean too. Staff were competent if not exactly enthusiastic. Missed the breakfast so can't comment on that. Paid €69 for a double room with bath and would stay there again.

Courteous, efficient staff. Two small problems--no hot water first night, light bulb out one evening--were attended to immediately. Ground floor room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and good. One note---walking to the Albergo from the Rue Royale (main street) is through a winding street, a little dark at night. I felt safe but recommend caution to a single traveler. If you are aware of your surroundings there should be no problem.

Very close to a rather seedy area. Room was adaquate...but had to askfor the hot water to be turned on in my room in order to have a shower. Also at breakfast it seemed to be purely at the whim of the staff whether you were offered tea or coffee or a choice of either.....some were offered cheese, others not....didn't bother me particularly, but couldn't quite work out the rationale behind it!

This is meant as a warning against this hotel, which is the WORST I ever visited. I arrived with my family at the hotel at about 16.00 hours in the afternoon. The room should have been available at 14.00 hours. We were let into a room which had not been cleaned, with slept sheets and dirt (bottles, ashes and cigarettes) in the room. For this reason we refused the room and left. The hotel used our credit card information to have the money paid, although ours was not a case of cancellation of the room, but of a refusal of a bad product and service, which is the right of a client. For this reason I warn whoever would like to make a hotel reservation NOT to use this hotel. There are a lot of hotels in Brussels which offer much better quality for a cheaper price.
