Our general experience at the Floris hotel was very good. It had an excellent breakfast, the room was very spacious and clean. The only issue I had was its surrounding area, although it is pretty close to landmarks, it is not located in a very good area.

Dirty, smelly, chilly, shabby tiny rooms. Blankets covered with hairs of the previous customers. No working air conditioning. Bathroom smelly and dirty. Personnel are indifferent (or unprofessional). We arrived late at night - spent 40 minutes to get the room which more or less suited us. The guy at the reception did not show us to our room - just pointed the direction. My mother (82 years old) had to go 3 times from the ground floor to the second and back (there are several lifts which go to different rooms but all of them are on the second floor!)

Hotel is ideally located near Gare de Midi and close to Metro station Lemmonier. Hotel is clean and confortable and walking distance to Metro/Tram/Bus which provides easy transport to tourist sights. Breakfast was excellent. We really enjoyed or stay at this hotel and I would return again.

A good value for the money. Quiet and clean room. Good public transportation but in 15 minutes walk you may reach the center. At breakfast you may find anything you may reasonable want. In the neighborhood most residents are emigrants including ethnic restaurants and coffee shops. You can fill secure in the streets.

The only interest of this hotel is its proximity to Bruxelles Gare du Midi. You can walk to the station, which is very convenient the night before you leave Bruxelles.

The people that work in reception are terrible, a woman very limited, doesn´t talk in English, seems to be dying. The same is the man, very stupid without prepare for the function, he thinks that he´s a very important person but even doesn´t talk in English, too.

Very nice man (Abdul, I think his name was) at Reception on 5th April. The lady who welcomed me on 4th was not that nice. She was effective, but did not smile and did not make me feel very much at ease.

Although it stated that check-in was after 3 PM, I arrived at the hotel from Bruges at noon and I was able to do a complete check-in without a problem. My room was located on the 6th floor and after taking the elevator to the 5th floor, I had to exit and take a flight of stairs to the 6th floor and then manoeuvre around a tight hall to reach my room. The room itself was spacious with a very large washroom.Although the neighbourhood isn't the greatest, I was able to walk to and from the centre of Brussels without a problem (the Midi train station is 5 minutes way and the subway across from the hotel). Breakfast was included and it had plenty of choices.

Basically nice hotel with spacious lobby. Free internet access in lobby. My room however was a bit overheated and dry. Hotel surroundings somewhat grim at night and windy / risk of pickpockets, better to take a taxi to and back to the hotel.

The best staff in Brussels! people very attentive, helpful, professional and friendly! The room was small but always clean and everything worked properly, an exception for the heating! it was old and horrible noisy! The location is very close of the train station Gare du Midi, with excellent connections, but the surrounding areas are not nice, noisy, dirty and quite dangerous, dealers, robbers and absence of police. The location is good to reach the station Bruxelles Midi, but the standard is not at the top, even for a 3 stars hotel. One night there was no light inside the rooms of the 3rd floor and on the floor too. I asked for a reduction of the rate but no positive answer came.

It was bit less than my expectation of a 3 star hotel. However on overall experience it was good as we had arrived in Brussels tired and needed a place to sleep as planned. Breakfast was bit let down and it also added that we arrived about to the end of the time. I would suggest to a friend if one was looking to.

Once we'd moved out of the really noisy room we were put in on the first night, everything was fine. Breakfast could have been better-several times there wasn't enough and it wasn't great quality. But the staff were brilliant and I'd like to make a special mention of Wanda on reception who went out of her way to be helpful and who extremely friendly and competent.

The hotel could be potentially a higher level hotel, the reception area is new, rooms have air condition a basic TV, all the basic furniture needed but really "minimalistic" style. The negative part was for the bathroom which did need some maintenance and also the surrounding area (Midi Station) didn't feel very safe in the evening for a single female traveller. They have wireless connection all over the hotel (also in rooms) and a rich breakfast in their beautiful restaurant which they have now closed for the other meals. Good hotel, considering the good price, for a short stay.

I went to Brussels with 4 other people and I booked a triple room and a double room. I stayed in the double room. The triple room was really spacious and exceeds my expectation. The double room was okay but both rooms' interiors are excellent and they were really clean. However, the double room i stayed in was next to the lift, so when I was in the room I always heard the creaking sound of the lifts being used. Another flaw about the hotel rooms would be the lack of water boiler. We dont usually have breakfast at the hotels when we're travelling. Instead, we have some foods with us most of the time and we usually bring tea and coffee to make hot drinks in the morning. Since, the both rooms did not have any we had to go to the staff to ask for some hot water. However, the staff were really nice. I would stay at this hotel again if i were to go to Brussels again :)

Excellent value for money in all respect, room size breakfast etc. Surrounding is a problem. We almost lost all luggage during check in but we managed to overman the thief on the lobby floor. The day of depatrure we forgot some clothes in the room but it was impossible to find it despite we called back the same afternoon. During the two consecutive days and even payed a visit to the hotel when we came back to Brussels on the third day of our trip. Summaty: Exiting stay but nothing for the safety contious traveller and famililies

It was horrible. The room was not confortable. The TV doesn't work (just one horrible Chanel). The shower was horrible. No water.(very slow....). The towel very small. I asked to the lobby to make me some copy, they can't because they have an old machine..... I asked the lobby to call me a cab and they forgot........ Really this hotel is not a good one.

As we entered the room, we got impressed because of the spaciousness: we had even a kitchen corner, and a table in front of a corner window. The room was cleaned every day, and so about towels (even if a message was written, they should change only towels on the floor...). Breakfast is very very very rich, and you can find everything you wish, from brioches to eggs and bacon. Hotel is very near underground station, and not far from Gare du Midi (railway station). Rate: excellent!!

This hotel is in need of a major renovation however the location is great for the price. It is several blocks from the train station and 2 tube stops from the Grand Place (it can be walked in 15 minutes). This is a perfect hotel if you spend most of your time site seeing and shopping. The price was inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area at 69 euros and they even accomodated us for an extra night when we missed our train for 60 euros/night. Don't expect luxury just a decent hotel for the price and location.

Hotel ustel is just your typical hotel that tries hard to please but just never quite get there. On arrival, I was made to wait for a long time. The only person on duty seemed so stressed out, trying to fit guest into rooms. The staff i encountered throughout the stay were very helpful and spoke excellent english. maps were provided and directions were clear. The rooms are nothing inspiring. It is fairly cramp but nothing too bad. The breakfast was average for such a hotel. the food was buffet style but they never replace the food fast enough and at times..dont bother in teh last breakfast hour. For example, the bacon was cooked in bulk and left in a container..the fat has coagulated and looks really yuck. The juice was never replaced. ustel is an alright hotel but with the same amount of money, i would rather choose a different one.

Hotel Ustel is close to the station Bruxelles Midi where I arrived and departed. I stayed for 54 Euro per night. For this location and this price the quality is excellent. Everything good, but.... 1. location..... you get out from hotel toward historical center and you get (may be it's political incorrect) but half of the way like sector Gaza in Israel, pritty scary to walk back in dark time 2. To reach... I just by luck found hotel pritty fast, because squere D'Aviation was not shown on my pritty detail map. Tip: It's on center of the city circle, if you drive clock wise it just slightly after south train station (Stalingrad street)

The hotel itself was great. it was very clean and modern, it had a great breakfast. the service was fantastic. the room was very quiet and spotless, a good size and well equipped. the only draw-back of this hotel was that it had extensive construction going on out front during our stay, and the area in which it is located is not particularly hospitable. the one plus of its location is that it is a very tolerable 5 minute walk from international train station.

Receptionist was not welcoming at all. When I checked in, he collected the map I printed by myself. When I asked it back, he said he needed that. I said 'that is just a map and I need it on the way back' He said ' Alright, give you back YOUR MAP' Moreover, He threw us our room key. Me and My friend were really sick of his attitude. He was reluntant to answer our questions as well. The condition of the bathroom was good as well. Water didn't go well in the shower. And it formed a little pool with all the hair stuck. Breakfast was good. It was a buffet. There was a reasonably range of choices.

The USTEL Hotel is quite old and you can feel a lot of history there which some people like me might find attractive. It's located close to the South Train Station (Midi) which is very good for people traveling by Thalys. This is not an attractive part of the city and just in front of the hotel some serious construction work is going on. The hotel is not kept immaciously (broken parts of the shower equipment in my room - obviously already some time ago). One of the younger people at the front desk could not manage to speak with me in full sentences or look at me although my French is not bad at all. The noise at night inside the house is quite high being obviously very much used by traveling groups of young people. BUT: having said this, the price of 50 € per night including a good breakfast has been unbeatable. For just one overnight stay on a business trip, you find in the USTEL hotel everything you need.

This hotel was excellent value for money, the rack rate on the back of the door was 165EUR we only paid 55EUR!! Very close to the Brussels-Midi/Zuid station, handy for the Eurostar. There were construction works going on outside although they didn't affect us, but there was some noise made a noisy group staying down the corridor!!! The breakfast was the winner, a full buffet breakfast with bacon, eggs, hot bread and chocolate croissants included. Can't go much wrong!!!!

I stayed here over Christmas with my partner and our two young children. We were very supprised with the size of our triple/family room. We only paid something like £320 for 5 nights. The breakfasts were included and were excellent, the resturant wasn't fantastic but we only ate one meal there, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Only short walk from the Eurostar train station. about 15-20min walk (or 5 mins on the tram) to centre of town. Overall, great place to stay!

The map for this hotel was a little confusing but is very close to the Train Station and within walking distance to the City Center. When I mentioned the next morning the noise from the elevator the staff were very quick to change my room to one that was more quite. The breakfast selection was very good. When I had to leave early to catch my train to the airport before the 7:00 AM start of breakfast they let me have my breakfast early. I recommend staying here.

We were very pleased with the Ustel because we had a family and when we arrived the room had been prepared for all of us which included an extra cot. We enjoyed the nights stay and the breakfast was beautiful. We would stay there again. We were a little worried at first about the surrounding neighborhood but found that it was not too undesirable the next day. We did have some trouble finding the place but with some assistance from the Brussels traffic authority we found the place after an hour of looking late at night.

Albergo molto pulito e rapporto qualità/prezzo eccellente. 9!

It was much better than what we expected for the price (55 euros/night - november) the room was quite nice, it also had a small kitchenette (which was not listed previouly). The train station was very close, it can be approached on foot, there is very good public transport as well, and (however the hotel is situated on a heavy traffic junction) it was quiet.

The room provided was small, simply appointed and very clean. Breakfast was buffet style and was as substantial as you wanted it to be. The hotel is conveniantly located, just a short ten minute walk from Gare du Midi. If i was passing through Brussels again i would use Hotel Ustel.

Great room - It was a huge room at a great price. It was a decent walk from center of town. If you are training into Brussels - get off on the Brussels - Zudi station. A very short walk compared to central station.

1. Location: steps from Brussels Midi and far from attractions. Tram is easy, but a hassel. 2. Room: Good on size + space. Sheets are not changed daily even though it was supposedly standard practice. 3. Food: Excellent (bacon, scram eggs, pastry, etc.) 4. Service: usual euro style- none.

Good hotel, had an enjoyable stay. Great breakfast. The only thing - on the map they give the impression that the hotel is very close to the Grand Place. It is much further that it looks!
