Unfortunately opposite the hotel a nightclub has opened; this means all sorts of cars, customers until 07.00 am! even more so as the smokers congregate around the frontdoor and inevitably make considerable noise

It is a good hotel overall. The room is not so big but the bathroom is spacious, and the warm water for taking a bath is very well. We have a secure box in our room so we can put our things in. More important, the service there is very good. The reception kindly helped us to print some train ticket for free. And the location is good, there are a lot of restaurant near the hotel and not far from the center. The only thing I want is hot water for drinking is not available.

Brussels is a nice shopping city, specially with the Christmas season. 4 big Christmas markets and a lot of shops. Even on a cloudy day Brussels is beautiful. The hotel is nice and clean. The room are not really quiet and Brussels can be a loud city. The beds are hard, my wife had no problems with that, but my back hurted. All at all this hotel is spot on. 10 min walk to the Grande Place and Place de St. Chatherina is just around the corner. Every 5 steps you find a restaurant. I can advise everyone to book this hotel. The rooms a clean, service is great and Brussels is brilliant.

It is in a good area close to all the shops etc, but over the road from a noisy club which spills drunken youths out all night until 6am and they stand around welling. Pity, it spoilt things. Not the hotels fault though. What was their fault was the very poor internet. Ten euro for 24 hours and we could never get on in three days. The 14" TV belongs in the ark and in any case was of no use to us as there were no English channels. This was supposed to be a 3 star hotel.

Expensive during weekdays, like majority of Brussels hotels. Good value on weekends. Internet too expensive. In any case is very annoying that extra taxes (in this case city tax), though separately indicated in the notes, is not calculated included in the price. VERY ANNOYING, as virtually all of services and goods we ususally buy have the price with all taxes included.

Good hotel, it was worth paying extra compared to cheaper places where everything is ultra-rationed. Each room has a safe, for example. There are stores, restaurants and supermarkets in the neighbourhood. breakfast and WiFi are not cheap and an additional charge. The "do not disturb" signs would not stay on the door knob. But this detail is insignificant compared to the overall carefulness of the team and quietness. For example, they can keep your bagages for free after you check out, very convenient ! Finally, the normal rate is very expensive, but the price/quality ratio is worth it on this site with rebates or during the low season.

The breakfast was a complete rip-off at 12 Euros, the only item of 'fresh food' on offer was eggs. They couldn't even provide a single item of fresh fruit. Having read other reviews of the hotel I was rather surprised by the poor quality of service provided by the desk staff, one of whom was a real drama queen; I can't imagine what he would be like if he had a difficult job to do. I paid 10 Euros for 24 hours internet conection, only to find it wasn't working. When it was eventually fixed, it became apparent that it didn't reach as far as my room. They were in denial about this, despite the fact if I walked down the corridor from my room, the signal strength improved and eventually I got a connection by the elevator!. This meant I (along with others) had to use my computer to access the internet in reception, rather than in the comfort and privacy of my room. They didn't seem to understand the principal that if they couldn't deliver the service they advertised, they couldn't charge for it.

I had to pay extra 10 Euro city tax, which I did not know before. I think this tax has to be indicated more clearly while booking. The room is not that beautiful as it looks in the photos, but it is still fine. The reception staff was very nice, however one of them was not polite ( I wanted to ask something, but he looked stressed and he simply ignored me). That is why I put 8 instead of 10.

Good value for money. There were quite a few groups staying when we were there so checking out took some time but staff were friendly. Rooms were very large but slightly outdated and breakfasts were good. The only downfall was a club across the road which had drunk people making a noise throughout the nights but maybe a room on the other side of the hotel would be okay.

Centrally located, within walking distance of the center of the city or metro station. The staff was OK, as impersonal as any other big-tall-modern middle-of-the-road hotel...The hotel has its own underground parking, on a side street. It is a bit too expensive but the alternative is to find your own parking spot in the street: not an easy thing to do. The breakfast, included in the price of the room, was very good and with a large selection of good quality foods. Overall, it's an average-quality hotel for an average price. As they say, nothing to write home about...

In the hotel listings, it was stated that this hotel was in or near the grand place, but was definitely NOT. It was about a 20-minute walk to grand place! I was very disappointed when I had to go around and around walking and looking for the hotel and had to make several calls to the hotel to ask for directions, thinking it was just around the block from grand place.

My husband and I stayed in Brussels for 3 nights at 66 euros a night (In January). We booked the morning we were to stay in Brussels, and as expected, the hotel did not have our reservation. However, it wasn't a problem since I brought my email confirmation. I had asked for a non-smoking room and was told that all rooms were nonsmoking. I wonder what the two astrays in our room were for? The room was a bit smoky, but not too bad. The room was clean with a big closet for travel gear. The bathroom was a decent size as long as you're in there by yourself. The price was even better considering breakfast was included. They had three cereals, milk, juice, plain yogurt, peaches, applesauce, rolls, bread, jams/nutella/honey, cheese, cold cuts, and what looked like three bowls of salads. There were also sausages (European style hotdogs), beans, pasta dish(?), and hard boiled eggs. You could also have an egg cooked in a lot of butter. Coffee and tea were served as well. The location was great. It only took about 10 minutes or so to walk to the main square, and about 15 to get to the main train station. We walked around and didn't bother getting the Brussels card. We didn't go to too many museums to get the benefit. We were able to buy a metro ticket for 6 euros for the both of us to travel for 1 day (a Brussels card costs about 20 per person). There were a lot of restaurants nearby and two large old churches. Don't eat at the Latin place around the corner that serves Argentinian steak. The don't know how to cook a steak. Finally, parking costs 15 euros per day and it's in a garage that is attached to the hotel. Very convenient. We also took a train to Antwerp. Round trip for the both of us only cost 13 euros. PS. Get good directions, this place was hard to find. We drove around forever and finally just headed straight for the city center. We asked an employee of another hotel for directions and then it was a cinch.

The location of this hotel is very good. Close to the Fishmarket, Grand Place and other points of interest. Rooms are OK, you get what you pay for. However, the service was terrible. Both at breakfast and at the reception. Actually I have never experienced such an impolite receptionist during any of my hundreds of hotel-stays. Our hotel stay of 4 nights was fine as we had one of the larger rooms. At 56 Euro per night B&B the price was very reasonable compared to what we would pay elsewhere. The only drawback was that there is a nightclub across the street from the hotel. This was no problem for the first three nights but for Saturday night we were disturbed by the repetitive ethnic rap and drum beat rhythm from the club. Later at 5 a.m. we were amused by the very loud shouting from a group of men who then proceeded to slap one another around the place. This is something that the hotel needs to discuss with the nightclub or at least have a police van to detain these excitable drunks. I am sure that most hotel guests would have been disturbed by the scenes.

My wife and I stayed in Astrid hotel during this Christmas. The hotel is very well located, but according to the price we paid (186 EUR for 3 nights), we are very disappointed with the quality we have received in Astrid hotel. At first we were given a very small, dark, smelly, old twin room at the end of a long corridor, though we required a double room in our e-mail to them. We were not happy with what we saw, so asked for a nicer, more spacious room. Yes, they gave us a larger, brighter room, but anyway the Astrid hotel obviously needs to be renovated, well the lobby looks all new and renovated, but all the rest is uhhh...Everything in that better room looked so second handed, so old, carpets had dirt marks because of being old, blankets were very thin and in some places had holes in them, we were surprised to hear, that air conditioning system works in summer only, heaters were not provided, though we were given 2 extra blankets to keep us warm in the night, no double beds are provided in the hotel, no mini-bar in the room, towels had been changed only every second day, hair dryer was broken, the room had a bad smell in it. Breakfast was all right, though sausages and eggs were cold...We are not pleased with our stay in Astrid hotel.

Reasonable accommodation at a reasonable price, good breakfast. Excellent location - walking distance to metro stations and a good selection of restaurants. Wonderful fish restaurants along the Quai aux Briques nearby. The hotel was being renovated inside and outside when I visited, so it should be in better condition when that is complete. The only negative point was that my room was rather noisy during the night (next to the lift shaft and plumbing). If I were visiting again I would be tempted to pay the extra for a double room.

My visit was while the hotel was being refurbished and everything indoors seemed to be new except the carpets - probably because the facade was being cleaned. Therefore everything looked very neat. It seemed as if there were no no-smoking rooms which I think is a must nowadays. My general opinion is that the hotel is very good and I also had a very favourable rate through internet reservation. I think that the map should be improved to make it easier to find the hotel from for instance de Brouckere metro station.

Hotel de buena relacion calidad-precio. Algo ruidoso y decoracion espartano. Limpio y trato correcto.

There is a metro close by block and half. If you do not like to walk you can take the metro but if you get a map you can easily walk to the city center and the whole tourist area. There is only one computer for internet so bring your own if you can or find else where because of wait. Make sure you put your no disturb sign out they will walk in on you. the Hotel was very helpful on all questions I had and told me the easiest way to get place etc.Chocolate shop you must see, they helped me find is Marys Chocolatier, the best in the world! on Royal Rue street down towards the parliament buildings. Next to the memorial with ever lasting flame.

Astrid Hotel is very well located, the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, the bathroom was big and well equipped. Good American breakfast too, I'll definately stay there again if I return to Brussels. On the other hand, I only got a good price through venere.com, otherwise the hotel is quite expensive.

We were very pleased with our choice - the hotel is well situated for visiting Brussels, within walking distance of the centre. A good choice of restaurants nearby. Comfortable and quiet- good buffet breakfast- and a real bath in the bathroom ! - with plenty of hot water. Very good rapport quality/price. We recommend.

A really good place to stay. Very central and clean. Staff where friendly. Cleaners are noisey and start really early. two single beds instead of one double but enjoyed my stay here and good value for money.

The hotel is very average What I liked: rather close to the center, a good breakfast didn't like: we were put in the room just near the elevator - it's was very annoying to leasten it during the night, the receptionist didn't changed the room for us the room had a musty smell

This hotel was only a few hundred metres from the Grand Place, easily a 10-15 minute walk. Beware though that if you head in the wrong direction when you leave (i.e. out of the door and turn left) you end up in the red-light district. Make sure you go to the right to head to the centre of town.
