Very good central location near Grand Place and Central Train Station but it seems that the corner it's located on is a local late night hangout. The noise level coming from the street until 4 in the morning made it almost impossible to sleep.

I had to spend 3 days in Brussels and I found a very good offer for this hotel and I booked it. The position is perfect! You are just beside the Grand Place but, at the same time, far from the traffic and noise of the center. The showed rates at the receptin are not so convenient and probably too high respect the structure.

The main hotel entrance and eating area is in bad shape and in need off refurbishing. The bedding was worn, old, and soiled. The street noise was intrusive all night long. On a positive note, the location was great, but not worth the lost sleep . Would not stay or recommend this hotel again.

The location was extraordinary-- a stone's throw from the Gare Central and the Grand Place. However, while every other hotel in Europe includes breakfast, this one charges 12 Euros (and no one bothered). Also, someone rearranged our luggage in the room while we were at dinner but nothing was missing. Otherwise, it was fine and we would stay there again as long as the price was reasonable.

Aris Hotel is a simple, decent hotel, offering travellers the basics of accomodation (quiet- clean rooms, breakfast etc.). You pay extra for breakfast as well as for the internet connection, which seemed expensive to me (5 euros per hour/ 10 euros for 24h, without being able to log out). The big advantage of the Hotel is its unique location given that it is situated next to Grand Place and Gare Centrale. In conclusion, I would recommend it for any single traveller who looks for a cheap hotel without expecting anything special.

The hotel was in a great central area, next to the main square and a block from the central station, which was very convenient. Many sites are within walking distance. The reception staff were all professional, friendly and helpful...morning, day, evening and late night. Nice hotel for a reasonable price. I highly recommend this hotel. Merci.

The location of the hotel just off the Grand Square was wonderful. Halfway between a Metro Station and Central Station so easy to find. We were very impressed with the sound proofing because even though there was a lot of noise outside with windows shut we heard nothing. Our only real criticism was the fact that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Would rather have had this than a safe.

Very beautiful hotel, in the downtown; the stop metro is a few meters from the hotel. So, if you go to Brussels for holiday and/or for business, it is one of the best solutions! It is the second time I came in this hotel, and I will go there again, the next times.

I liked everything. The location could not be better: close to the Grand Place, main attractions, the City Tour Agency and Gare Central. There are lots of restaurants and cafe around. The place is safe: the police was everywhere around the Grand Place. My room was big enough and cosy. The view from 3 windows was fantastic! The room was facing 2 streets. I asked about that type of room when I called to the hotel and they did a great job, preparing it for me.It was a little noisy at night, but it did not bother me: I was on vacation. The staff was very helpful and polite. I would recommend this hotel to everybody and if I have another trip to Brussels, I'll stay in Aris Grand Place again.

Room was okay, but could do with a bit of a facelift. Room service was poor - my bathroom floor was left wet and the bathmat was removed but no replacement left for some reason. Also, my room (212) was not located on the main corridor. I had to follow a series of signs through a maze of doors and empty hallways and up a staircase to find it. It felt very isolated and the since the lift doesn't go there, it wouldn't be convenient for anyone with a large suitcase! Plus the stairwell was dark at night. The location is great (right next to the Brussels City Tours office and close to Grand Place, Galeries St Hubert, Manneken Pis etc) and the staff are friendly and multilingual but I wouldn't stay there again.

Breakfast is NOT included (which I find really disappointing for a starred hotel at that price!). I am not happy at all. It is in the fine prints of the agreement that breakfast is not included but I was completely disappointed with it. And I am sure that I am not the only one who found this out only there. For the rest, the room was OK, but it is not really fantastic. The location is central.

The main strength of this hotel is the location and the price we were offered (€65 for a double room), which sums up to a very attractive price/quality ratio. Although having a slightly dated interior/design, both our room and public areas were in very good condition as well as nice and clean. My only gripes are about the beds having some pretty sad plain blankets (I very much prefer duvets/comforters, preferably in a duvet cover, not the single sheet variant) and the prohibitive prices of the hotel's wifi (€5 for an hour is high). Contrary to other comments, we found the air condition to work excellently (at ca 25 degrees outside temperature). As for staff, one of the two we met was a very pleasant acquaintance, the other one not quite as much. All in all, well recommended for the price.

Location, location, location. Is the only advantage of this hotel. At two step of central station, metro and in the middle of city... really, really good. BUT air condition DOESN'T exists, the air in the hotel, especially in the public areas, is unbreathable. And, worst, at 18 o'clock, the concierge is disappeared, closing the main door!!! No chance to enter or exit, no window to open... at least for 10 minutes. PS: They mistake using the credit card during the reservation and the price are VAT excluded...

Ask for room #505! It has windows all around, incl. the bathroom. You are above the roofs of the Old Town, it's quiet, but you are right in the center of the Grand Place. Fabulous, and on top the rooms are air conditioned. The train station Midi is in walking distance! - One item we did not like was the breakfast. The choice was poor, the rolls were stale. Still trying to find a favourite hotel in Brussels. This one is OK -- great location just off Grand Place and near restaurants, but tiny rather worn rooms without much to distinguish them from any other cheap hotel. If I had paid rack rate, it would have been far overpriced. At 90€ through Venere, it was probably about fair given the good location.

Out of 5 hotels used for my trip, only one was above average, the Ibis chain, interestingly enough the only one that I did not book through the internet but I found on my own while looking in Paris. It all started well but deteriorated rapidly. The worst was that after using the water for a minute, a sewer smell permeated the whole place. I asked the hotel to fix this to no avail. I stayed 4 nights with the smell of shit in my nostrils. Of course when I asked to be compensated because they could never fix this they could not. However I could write to the owner which was not readily available (does this surprise anyone?. I will be filing a complaint shortly. They gave me a "family" room (read duplex) and the stairs were very short and narrow. I'm a 8 shoe size and half of my foot was sticking out of the steps. The bathroom was upstairs and it was dangerous to use the toilet in the middle of the night due to being half asleep.

Our first stay at the Aris Grand Place was great; quiet rooms, very friendly and competent staff. Not so this time. The staff were unfriendly, aloof and condescending. Our tv didn't work properly; we requested to have it either fixed or replaced; our request was ignored and on the last night of our stay we were finally told it was working fine; that volume level was set that way (extremely loud at night) which of course isn't true. Very unfriendly manager. The room was not as quiet as the first time at all. When we requested to move to a quieter room after the first night of very bad sleep the manager angrily and dismissively said "You should have told us earlier; now it's impossible. Everything is booked." He was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. At €130 a night (summer rates), I definitely think it wasn't worth the money, not with this type of service and quite a few things that either didn't work well (faulty shower head wet most of the bathroom floor, for example; the safe was really not very safe at all; it was about to crack open). The only good thing was the breakfast: very good. All things considered, I doubt I would stay there again.

The Aris' siuation at 78-80 Rue Marché aux Herbes is just about as close to the centre of Brussels as you could want. Grand Place is just around the corner - Brussels Central station is less than five minutes' walk away. Over the years, I have stayed in a number of Brussels hotels of a similar class - this is amongst the best and offers particularly good value for money. The hotel is modern and simply but tastefully decorated. Although the rooms are fairly small, they are more than adequate for a long weekend or a brief business trip. We enjoyed the inclusive buffet breakfast. One warning for new visitors - not about the hotel but about restaurants in the neighbourhood. The Rue des Bouchers just behind the hotel full of restaurants. You are bound to find your way to it - and to be accosted when walking along it by the barkers offering their generally overpriced meals to all passers-by. Sadly, the stiff competition has not led to a lifting in quality. This is lowest common denominator Belgian cuisine; it is an insult to a country that boasts amongst the best culinary standards in the world. Avoid them. Look instead a little further afield. Two possibilities are L'Ogenblick (just off the Galeries St Hubert to the left of the hotel) and T'Kelderke (situated in a cellar on the Grand Place itself). One tip for those travelling from London by Eurostar. Although the destination shown on the ticket is Bruxelles Midi, it is valid to and from any SNCB railway station in Belgium - the outward coupon for the 24 hours following arrival at Gare du Midi and the return coupon for the 24 hours preceding departure from there. We took advantage of this to go on a day trip to Liege. You might like to use it to visit other historic towns such as Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent.

The hotel is ideally situated 5 minutes walk (downhill) from the Central station. Eurostar travellers note that the Eurostar arrives at Brussels Midi (Zuid) station. You can get a train to the Central station quite easily (one stop away) – try to avoid getting a taxi from Midi to Central as it will cost you about 4 times a train ticket. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the Grand Place and about 5 minutes from Rue des Bouchers – the famous street for restaurants. Plus points of the room: a safe and an immaculate bathroom. Downside: The breakfast was included but mediocre and noise outside in the alley next to the hotel at about midnight. All in all a really good hotel for a 3-star; slightly on the expensive side, but considering its location I would say it is worthwhile.

It was a very nice hotel in the middle of the old town of Brussels. Short distance to all our tourist needs. The rooms were very nice but a little small. The accomodation and the service were both very satisfactory. When we go to Brussels next time this will be a nice place to stay.

Camere spaziose, comode e pulite. Bagno grande e pulito. Personale gentile. Prezzo piuttosto buono.

Terrific location right in the centre of Brussels. Weekend rates particularly good value. Not quite as swish as the website portrays, but nothing especially to fault it.

The hotel is located one street away of Grand Place: an excellent stay if you like to stroll through the heart of Brussells. The room was clean and perfect for a two nights stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and spoke English. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel prior to check-in. Good location- close to the Central train station, restaurants, shopping and tourist areas.
