Hotel Vista Lago - Brunate

Fantastic location, hotel and restaurant. Amazing views from the room and restaurant. The restaurant experience was the highlight of our trip. The chef was most accommodating and created excellent meals. Brunate is a jewell of a town and Hotel Vista del Lago is the place to stay. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

We loved staying at the Hotel Vista Lago. It was a charming place. The staff especially Jo was very nice and helpful. They even did our laundry for us for a reasonable fee. Breakfast was a continental breakfast. We would definitely stay again and recommend. The location is far from the train station but worth the walk to the funiculare. The hotel is more like a B&B. There is not a lot of places to eat around there so plan on dinner outside of Brunate.

Vista Lago does not have views of the lake although they can be found close-by. The hotel is next to the church and bell-ringing was disturbing. The room was fine and had everything required and the breakfast was an adequate self-service so you could not go hungry. The receptionist was on breakfast coffee duty as well, so checking out took longer than expected. Car parking is where you can find it on the street although the receptionist came with me to find a suitable spot. The drive up to Brunate is quite hairy with many hair-pin bends with traffic in both directions. Como seems to be an expensive place to stay and Vista Lago provides reasonable value for money

Okay, yes it is hard to find. Ok the welcoming was not that great. Ok when we asked for a late snack we could not get much, still.... Wow, what a location and we had the very, very best room with a small private terrace. VIEWS WERE FANTASTIC AND THE FUNICULAR RIDE DIRECT TO TOWN IS GREAT! Overall, would go back anytime!

The hotel was beautiful in an absolutely beautiful location and view! The only problem we had was the bed in the room were 2 twin beds pushed together but not possible to make 1 bed. There was too much of a gap. Other than that I'd stay at this hotel again!

It is a very quiet hotel with a very kind staff and a beautiful landscape (Como, the lake and the mountains all around) from your balcony. The room we had was fairly wide, very clean and Brunate is a lovely place to rest, have a walk up the mountains or go to Como via the "funicolare" that gets you just in front of the lake, very close to FNME railway station.

Beautiful setting, overlooking Lake Como. Very friendly staff. Romantic. More fun than staying directly in como. Funiculare works well to get you up here, if you don't have a car.

This is a wonderful place to stay: excellent location (closed to the funicolare Como-Brunate), kindly and helpful staff, confortable rooms and good price. It really exceed my expectations.

Exzellent price/quality relationship. The only thing that was not convincing was the breakfast, but with that one can live.

Our Hosts were very helpful and there is a restaurant at the hotel. The fantastic view from our bedroom over Lake Como well and truely made up for the small but very clean room. Brunate is lovely and well worth exploring. Location was excellent and we used the funiculare to go down to Lake Como during our stay for 2 days which was 3 minutes from the room. The drive up the hill of Brunate is packed with hair pin bends and crazy local drivers. An amazing experience, rather hair raising for an Australian.

Excellent alternative to staying in Como where rates would be much higher. The owner and his staff were extremely welcoming and were very helpful in reccomending restuarants in Como. Having said that their own restuarant served good food at reasonable prices. Minor point - one needs to enjoy life to negotiate the 20 minute drive up a steep and curving hill to reach Brunate. Beleive me the experience is worthwhile.

Fantastic view from the lake-side rooms. Convenient access to Como by cable car. Friendly staff, good kitchen, nice rooms.

Très belle situation et accueil très sympathique.

Staff were extremely friendly and ready to go out of their way to help, from the proprietor through the cook and to the chambermaids. One must be prepared for some narrow roads, but the site is offering a splendid view on Lago di Como.

A very nice restaurant (Bellavista??) with a big terrace and an excellent lake-view only some steps from the hotel in direction of the elevator at the right side leaded by an older italian musician.Very nice and a very good mealand not to expensive.

Das Doppelbett bestand aus zwei Einzelbetten. Das Brot am Morgen war verschimmelt.
