Very clean and confortable rooms . The bathroom is outside the room on the hal .Very good food down to the hotel restaurant and very helpfull and nice staff . We had the bad luck to stay over the night here while in the same time with a group of workers that maked a lot of noise during the entire night . :( Otherwise all was great and I would recomend to anyone .

To make this clear:this is not a HOTEL, this is a HOSTEL. You have to calculate 15min. of a winding and dangerous drive up a steep and narrow road and the hostel has no bathroom in the rooms: all bathrooms ar shared. The hostel in a very quiet and somehow romantic scenery in the woods with a glimpse on Como. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. And service is friendly.Best

The Capanna made a nice change from a chain hotel. The steep road up to Brunate is not for the faint-hearted (better in a small car, probably). Lovely views over Como. We were just passing through, but it would make a great base for a few days walking.

We have been to Brunate 4 times now and love it. Hotel Capanna Cao was lovely but it was a long, long way from the funicular, particularly when returning uphill! We like to eat in Como and the buses from the funicular stop really early (7ish) so we ended up thumbing a lift back!! However, the walk from Capanna to Torno was fantastic and more than made up for that.

This is a bad hotel, not cleanless, and far from the city, not easy to arrive. Not recomendable.
