The hotel was just wonderful. The walk to the center was not as far as we expected and it gave us a bit of distance from the large number of tourists (there IS a bus right in front of the hotel). Advice at the front desk was accurate and welcome. All of their restaurant suggestions were right on the money. Our room had a tiny balcony overlooking the small courtyard and was quiet and charming. I would highly recommend Ter Duinen.

The owners were very friendly and helpful. We got to Brugges a day early and they were able to accomodate us. And the lady who made our reservations, Josephine, gave us great restaurant recommendations and other helpful advice. The breakfasts were outstanding! Our only problem was a difficult room key, which we all had a laugh about when we checked out.

A most lovely stay--an old, Bruges house converted to a hotel/bed & breakfast, altho one thing it has no AC, but we knew it was going to be cool and rainy, so we were fine with it. Our room was large and very clean; no shower, which was fine. The hot bath in the very large tub was great after a long day of sightseeing. We took the bus to the Hotel, as directed at Venere, with no problem, and only $1.80 each person...(took the cab to return as we were limited on time for $10). The breakfast (included) was the best we had in all of our travels this trip...Great service. Easy 10 minute walk to city center. We would definately stay here again.

An excellent hotel in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Ideal for short breaks in Bruges. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to stay somewhere a little bit special that was close to the town centre and within easy walking of numerous restaurants.

We booked the hotel room before the pound vs. euro exchange rate rapidly dropped therefore the price we thought we were paying was completely different to what we paid. I think you should pay when you book and not wait until checkout.

Inside the old city, but at a pleasant distance (and easy walk) from the tourist bustle. Some rooms are in an annex across a small courtyard from the main building - a chilly dash to breakfast in winter. I loved the modern style of my annex room. I missed breakfast by 30 minutes one morning, but was politely served anyway.

After receiving such a warm welcome from the staff at Ter Duinen we were pleased to enter our room that was spacious and had a lovely few from our balcony of the surround rooftops. The breakfast offered was just perfect. Not too big and not too small. I will definately consider staying at this hotel again should I be returning to Bruges. It is such a beautiful city and they really know how to capture the Christmas spirit!

Very pleasant stay at a nice hotel in atmospheric canalside location. Excellent and fast bus service from the railway station. We had a pleasant room at the back of the hotel (30) which being almost on the top floor gave a nice view over the rooftops to the town centre. Room was not huge and small bathroom tucked in to one side, However everything spotlessly clean and well thought out. Not sure where the long walk into town idea came from as it only takes a very pleasant ten minutes stroll along the canal to reach the centre of town. Staff friendly and helpfull. a good find and happy to stay there again. The town centre restaurants can be pricy. for a reasonably priced light meal try the "terrace" bar on the way into town near where the canal divides. Many good shops in Bruges stocking individual good quality goods.

A first clas hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of Bruges. The staff were all welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Our two day stay in Bruges was too short - we'll be back!

I visited Brugge with my boyfriend to see the sights and the famous cows that reside within the city as opposed to the well known swans at the Lake of Love. I was amazed to find out that no one knew of these cows. After some long wonderful searching walks we finally found them. Strangely enough they are within the Ter Duinen monastery garden close by to this hotel. It appears to share the same name. The monks here have a large walled garden containing an orchard and a herd of cows. A lovely woman fronting the hotel reception had lived in Brugges for 25 years and had not known close by was this bovine delight. We enjoyed the stay at the hotel, yummy breakfast with excellent friendly service and atmosphere.

This was our first visit to Ter Duinen, and if we stay in Bruges again we won't hesitate to go back. The welcome was excellent, with all staff speaking very good English and making every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location is very nice, with a 10 minute walk to the main square. All in all, a highly recommended choice for a visit to the city.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The location to the main square, restaurants ,sights was excellent. The breakfast was outstanding, the staff and owners gave such an eye to detail, they made us feel very special and took time to chat and get to no the guests. Our room was in the attic, it was spotless the bathroom a lovley size, in our 2 weeks in holland and belgium this was our favorite place.

Family room was quite spacious. Breakfast was lovely, all fresh with plenty of choice. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Having the use of a lock up garage was great. Only a 10 - 15 min walk from centre,(nice scenic walk) Took a 5 year old and 7 year old there who really enjoyed their stay. Would recommend for Families and couples. Will definately book again and recommend to friends and family.

A lovely family run hotel with very caring owners and staff. When one elderly member of our party needed medical help, they were very helpful in all respects. We occupied 2 rooms and both were of a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Quite well located if you want a quiet area close to a canal but only about 15-20 minutes walk into the town centre. Would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Great hotel. The people were very nice and friendly. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very attentive. Only minor downside is the location....a bit of a hike but since the weather was good not a problem....highly recomend this to others!
