The rooms we had (family combination of two rooms with shared toilet and shower) were much more basic than on the pictures on the Venere site, and there was a smell of humidity. We did not manage to cut the heating for the night and it was much to warm... Location, staff competence and welcoming were OK

Very friendly family run hotel, always a welcome greeting and plenty of information supplied upon request. Spacious clean rooms, excellent breakfast with a friendly smile, Kettle supplied upon request. Overall a very good hotel, I would have no trouble recommending this one. Just off the main suqares so quiet at night. Very good value for money.

We had a wonderful time in Bruges - and Hotel 't Voermanshuys was one of the main reasons for enjoying our visit. We had an enormous twin bed room with a smallish but nice newly renovated bathroom with a bath tub. English speaking staff at the front desk were always friendly and offering assistance. The breakfast, included in the price was also very good.

A lovely little hotel, great location, very friendly staff with good English, very resonable price, clean. My only recommendation for an improvement would be some fruit & yoghurt for breakfast as there was only cereal & bread -although plenty of it so you don't go hungry!

Hotel was close to the Markt and the Burg, the historical centre of Brugge, very convenient. Not too far from the station, about 20 minutes walk. As was to be expected in European hotels, the staircase was narrow but being backpackers that was no problem.Room was clean, although a tad small. The tv set was tiny though. Relatively good spread of breakfast which included cereal and milk, not often expected in European hotels.

Stay one night. Town has cobblestone streets, lined with hundred year old buildings & many churches. Hard to find even with a map. Close to market with grocery store few doors away and many cafes. Room was very clean and neat. The owners showed pride in their hotel. An excellent breakfast was included in the price. Loved the feather quilts & the dove shower wash. We highly recommend this very comfort place to stay.

A good hotel, right in the centre of Bruges and within very easy reach of the Christmas market, the Markt, the fresh Food Market, shops, canals, sites etc. The hotel offers excellent value for money, and gives good sized, clean room with ensuite facilities, friendly service, an excellent breakfast, making it a great choice for a short stay in Bruges

Another good stay at this Hotel, 3rd visit in two months. Visited this time with my sister who cannot walk too far. Hotel arranged for me to hire a wheelchair and with the discount card from the hotel it only cost 8 euros for 36 hours which was really worth it. Went on the horse and carriage and the bus tour from the square, both were very interesting. My sister loved Bruges and the hotel and even though I nearly tipped her out of the wheelchair once she had a great time. (The wheel got caught in a drain! Cobblestones and wheelchairs don't go together too well!) I can't fault the hotel, it really is central and good value for the money. Heidi is very helpful and friendly. When I return I will stay at the same hotel.

The location of the hotel was fabulous. The owner was gracious and she clearly cared about the appearance of her dining room and entry way as she had very tasteful fall decorations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to spend time in Bruges, which is a beautiful jewel of a city.

This was my 2nd stay in five weeks! The hotel is lovely, very close to the Market square, easy to find and central to the tourist attractions. Staff are very friendly and Heidi was extremely kind and helpful, thank you Heidi. Hotel is very clean. I had a bigger room this visit which was great. Breakfast was plentiful, cereal, juice, meats and cheeses, bread and rolls, more than enough to set you up for sightseeing! Ate both nights at La Belle Vue,just onto the Market Square. Meals were great.19.50 euros for 3 course set menu. Chicken in mushroom sauce was gorgeous and the chocolate mousse dessert thick and scrumptious. Went on the canal boats again and enjoyed it. Going back next week with my sister, same hotel, as I doubt the hotel could be bettered at that cost.

Bruges is a really lovely city and hotel is extremely well placed for sightseeing. Round the corner from the Market Square,Restaurants and Shops. A good supermarket just a few doors away from hotel. The hotel is very clean and room comfortable, although it was quite small, but they have much larger rooms also.Staff very friendly and helpful.Easy to find.We got on a bus outside train station, line 1 or 2, and got off at the end of Oude Burg. Cost 3.20euros for two of us.Plenty to see and do in the area.Boats on the canal are good value. Going back in October and staying at same hotel.

We were really delighted with Hotel t Voermanshuys. Firstly, though we arrived late in the evening, they were very welcoming & helpful and produced a detailed city map and great dining options before we were even in our rooms. The rooms were comfortable, spotlessly clean and spacious. Bathroom was especially large and warm. Breakfast was a plentiful smorgasbord affair and the hotel's location (very close to the city's main Markt Square) was ideal. The staff were kind and very efficient and all spoke excellent English. They even produced umbrellas in case of rain! We are already looking foward to staying at t Voermanshuys again.

My friend and I spent one night at the t Voermanshuys and generally liked it quite well. However, there was no shower curtain and no permanent placement for the shower nozale so taking a shower was very difficult. You had to sit in the bathtub and carefully maneuver the portable nozzle. The room however was spacious and charming and very clean, especially for an older hotel. The breakfast which was included was very nice - a variety of sliced meats, cheeses, cereals, rolls, beverages. It was more adequate than I expected from a small family run hotel. There were plenty of brochures at the front desk about local sites and activities which was handy. The credit card machine wasn't working however so we had to pay for our room in cash which could have been a problem if we had stayed longer than one night, and our room overlooked the street so it was quite noisy early in the morning. I would recommend requesting a room further back if possible. Overall, for only 75 EUR per night it was a good hotel and very well located to the center of the Burg district, within easy walking distance of just about everything.

A great family run hotel. Felt like a home away from home. Great location just around the corner from Markt Square. The room was decorated in a homely, comfy manner and bathroom had been updated. Only small problem there was no shower curtain around the bath so having a shower and ensuring no water escaped was a little stressful.

This hotel was wonderfully located, right in the middle of Bruges and only a block of two from the Markt. The rooms were enormous, especially compared to other hotels my wife and I have stayed at in Europe, and the breakfast included with the room was more elaborate and hardy than average. The front desk staff was *extremely* friendly and helpful. My wife did note that the beds were on the firm side (not a problem, just an observation). Also, parking is a public structure several blocks away from the hotel if you are driving to Bruges, although it is a pleasant 5-minute walk, much of which is through a nice shopping district. All in all, a very nice little family-run hotel and a great place to stay right in the middle of the city. We would very much recommend it.

This hotel is very close to the main area of brugge. the hotel staff was allways ready to help, give advice of what to do, where to go, they were awesome. the room was very clean with an incredible bathroom. the bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms in europe. location great, hosts great, price great. my only recomendation to the visitors is to prepare patiente to find the place, not because it is located in a bad place but because brugge streets are strange. I would allways recomend this place and before I died I promise to go back again.

This is a great place for a family. The two room family suite was especially good for a family with young children who need room to run around without bothering other guests. The staff were very courteous and the breakfast was adequate. The location was very near the center of Brugge which was convenient. My only complaint was the outside noise at night. There must have been a nightclub nearby. It wasn't too loud, just a lot of bass. Perhaps a pair of earplugs would work if you are a light sleeper.
