Delightful hotel in a super location. The couple who keep it were extremely friendly and helpful. One slight gripe: while having the breakfast room in the basement was fine, it would have been nicer to have the lounge at a higher level with natural light.

We were mum, dad and an 8 year old. Cosy, comfortable and very clean. Extremely close to the centre but not at all noisy. Friendly staff. There is not much of a public space - such as a lounge - but as were were there to see the city this was not an issue.

We were travelling with teenagers. Family room in this historic building is very spacious, and worked well, but was quite noisy at night because overlooking traffic. In cooler weather, the double glazing would have kept out the noise, but it was very hot when we were there. Excellent location, and would definitely go back (to a rear-facing room).

The owner carried our 2 suitcases up to the room for us as there isn't an elevator and did so likewise, leaving. YEA! Room was terrific. We arrived with jetlag and appreciated our good looking and spacious room. The beds wern't firm, hooray. There wasn't AC but luckily, it was cool for our 3 nights. Also, without heat, the mosquitos weren't a bother. The couple who owns this hotel are super, spoke English. Room included the most delicious breakfast in an amazing downstairs, atmospheric and beautiful breakfast room. Love their selection for breakfast and we didn't even think of food until late afternoon. They have a computer with free usage which we appreciated too. The location was PERFECT, not even 5 min. from the square. We would most definitely return here.

The receptionist (owner?) was very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were great. The room was spacious and although the hotel was experiencing some WiFi difficulties we were able to access it with the help of the staff.

A comfortable small family run hotel about 300 metres from the market square. There are many restaurants within a short walk in all directions, with easy access to the canals and buses. Rooms facing the road might be noisier, but our room overlooking the rear courtyard was very quiet for a city centre. Breakfasts offered a good variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, meat and cheese with fresh bread and rolls, croissants and diferent jams and spreads. The basement Lounge area with free coffee during the afternoon was much appreciated, all except the UHT milk.

Great location and hosts. Breakfast was lovely and one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had! Only downside was that the "double bed" turned out to be two single beds pushed together, and that the internet only allowed for one wireless user on at a time. Apart from that we would definitely recommend it.

This is a lovely small hotel very conveniently located just off the Burg Square, in a most beautiful city. The operators are very helpful and the facility is attractive and well maintained. The breakfast room is charming and the breakfast itself, included with the room price, is excellent.

Very well situated and wth easy taxi access to railway station but too far to walk. Bus also available from near-by main square. Lots of reataurant choice close by with very good and reasonably priced italian which was recommended by hotel management. Good continental type breakfast served

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is right off the Burg plaza and is simply unbeatable, especially at this price. I do wish that there was better (ie, not e20/d) wifi, though there's a computer in the lounge. The staff were very nice and there is an outstanding Moroccan restaurant just up the street when you've had your fill of moules et frites.

We have been several times to Brugge but had stayed overnight one time before. This time we had my family visiting from abroad and wanted to show them a special city on our return trip to the Netherlands from Paris. This hotel was absolutely fantastic. A small family run operation with exceptional quality. The rooms are large and airy with beautiful shower and toilet faclities. The couryard out back for smoking is just as lovely as could be. The breakfast room, located in a vaulted cellar ( and breakfast for that fact) is excellent. The location is perfect. 50 meters from the Burg and 100 meters from the Markt (2 central squares in Brugge). Parking is close by and costs €8.50 per day. There is also parking by the central station for €2.50 per day with free bus to the center. We were a group of 5. My wife and I and 2 sisters and a brother from America. My siblings shared a triple room and it was very large and comfortable. They had done this earlier in Paris and the 3rd bed had been nothing more than a childs cot. My brother is a builder and was enamored with this hotel. He had spent some time talking with the very friendly owner about all they had done on the restauration of the building. I can confidently say that when we return to Brugge, we will look to this hotel before all others.

Great stay! Short cab ride from train station, welcoming staff, great (cold) breakfast with lots of variety, but also includes hot beverages. Close to everything you could possibly want to see in Bruges! Walking is the way to go in this beautiful city! Loved it there! Cheers, David and Katalina Vancouver, Canada

Very convenient situation, just off Burg square, plenty of shops and restaurants close by with short walks to main museums etc.My room was on the second floor, clean and well decorated (as was the whole hotel), with wonderful old beams.Situated at the back it was very quiet. The shower room was quite small, but in an old building in an old city centre I was not surprised.Access is by a fairly winding staircase, so might be a problem for some. Overall I was extremely happy with the Malleberg and would gladly stay there again.

A small, family-run hotel in great, central location just off the Burg (one of the main squares or plazas). Just 8 bedrooms (some family rooms)in this old building, full of character. Generous breakfast caters for a variety of tastes. Complimentary afternoon tea/coffee a nice touch. Nice, friendly staff/owners. Rooms are clean, spacious. Beds are comfortable. Decent, spacious bathroom and shower. TV and kettle in rooms. Because it is an old building, there is no air-conditioning. Can be an issue in summer; because Brugge has so many canals, there is a mosquito problem. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel. Take bus number 12, 6 or 16 from the railway station to the Markt Square. Hotel is short walk from there.

Excellent service from very nice owners; nothing was too much trouble for them. Great location but rooms at the front may be noisy if you are a light sleeper. Most of the rooms are at the back and friends staying there said they were really quiet. We were there for New Year so it may be quieter at other times. Good breakfast. Bruges is fabulous and well worth a visit. We ate out for 3 days/nights and the food is excellent but the wine is very poor. We ended up paying 40 euros a bottle and it was still awful. It was mostly only French wine that was available so they must keep the best for themselves and selected export markets, Belgium not being one of them. Stick to beer and you should be OK.

Excellent location, very large rooms (number 1 and 2) that form a small private flat. Could have fit 2 + 3 children in one room.
