I would regard Jan Brito as an expensive hotel. The duchess room was spacious and pleasant with good bathroom facilities. Having said that, the king bed was actually 2 singles together and it was not very comfortable. My partner woke up with a very sore back the first morning and staff at the hotel had no response to this. Also, we did not like the shower over the bath preferring a separate shower with no bath at all. I was not impressed when I could not use power in the room to charge my phones and cameras when I was out. In fact I had to leave them with reception staff at the desk to charge them. I did not think this was appropriate for a 4/5 star hotel. Nevertheless, the free wifi worked excellently, and the breakfast was superb. Best bacon I have had in a long time! Selection of cakes and cheeses and yoghurts was good. I would recommend this hotel, with those reservations about it.

I stayed here with my two children and wife for one night on 9/2/13. The hotel is well located but the room was very noisy as the walls are not sound proof. we could hear everything that was being said in the next rooms. They were not raising their voices at all. we could hear snoring, chat and normal laughter. we all had a very uncomfortable night. we will not be returning and would not be recommending this hotel.

Lovely hotel in a great location. We began our stay in a Maid's Room and after 2 nights of a 5 night stay asked to be moved to a bigger room as it was small and stuffy. The staff were very accommodating and we were put in a much more spacious room. It was my first time in Brugges and I wasn't disappointed.

Room very noisy; walls seemed very thin and sleep disturbed on both nights. Bed not very comfortable and provided with duvet that was far too hot for time of year. Hot water from basin was dangerously hot and bath should have rubber mat available for use as shower. Breakfast was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful; hotel very convenient for town centre and car parking convenient and well priced for popular location.

Overall our stay at the Jan Brito Hotel was very pleasant. The period style hotel is very beautiful and the staff are very friendly and professionally competent. The breakfast buffet too was very enjoyable. However the receptionist that welcomed us upon arrival insisted on a 3pm check in at the earliest. Whilst we understand that there is a certain turnaround period for previous guests checking out and cleaning of bedrooms etc., 3pm is still rather late in the day when compared with other hotels and was quite inconvenient for us. The other problem we had was in relation to the size of our bedroom, we had paid for a superior room and while it was beautiful it was very cramped. However despite these problems we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is quiet and lovely, perfect for guests of refined taste. Children might be disappointed with a lack of activities, but adults would be pleased with a well prepared breakfast and charming surroundings.

This was a wonderful place to stay in Brugges. The location is minutes from every place you would want to see, but just off a main street which makes it nice and quiet for sleeping. The rooms (we had a knight room) was spacious and well equipped. The only minor complaint we had was that the shower was in a bathtub that was very close to the roof slant which made it challenging to stand up and rinse off without holding on, but we did manage. That would not keep us from returning. Keep in mind this is an old building with wood beams, etc. and very charming. The breakfast was perfect - a nice mix of cold and warm dishes, served in a very pretty room. Ours was included in a Venere hot deal rate - prepaid...but a great deal compared to the regular price. Hotels in Brugge are pretty expensive, and with our rate, it was a super deal. Parking was 10 Euro extra in a nicely located lot.

SORRY for the delay in sending my review but... too much to do - and I am retired!!... Still, I want to make sure that Hotel Jan Brito in Bruge - and especially its staff members - be awarded with "Excellence Plus". Just to remember the friendlyness and competence of Betty, Dimitri and all others who were so helpful with ANY kind of information, I will surely return one of these days and have recommended my family and many friends to choose Hotel Jan Brito while staying in Bruge. CONGRATULATIONS! With warm regards, Elisabeth Bernal-Tscherkassky

Single rooms are excellent for a single traveller. The bathroom and shower all re-done and really the highlight of the facility for me - all toiletries included even a toothbrush and toothpaste! Would be great if there were coffee and tea facilities in the room, but the mini bar was reasonably priced as well as the bar in the lobby. Excellent! The little details make the difference.

Hotel is conveniently located near the square on a relatively quiet street. All facilities are exactly as they appear in the website. We stayed in a knight's room on the top floor and it was amazing. The room was huge with rustic wood beams throuhout the ceiling. The shower was a bit awkward because of the roof slant. But everything else was perfect.
