Experience not entirely negative, but the hotel was not what I expected. The room was totally different from the pictures shown on the website, forget the canopy bed and the elegant furnishings: not all the rooms are like that, I know better! Anyway the staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is rich and nice. The distance from the center is just 10 minutes walking and 25 minutes from the train station, even if I would racommend a cab (about 10 euro) to avoid carrying your suitcase on the cobblestone streets...

Hotel Jacobs is just off the canal, across from a beautiful church and away from the busy streets but close enough to downtown. The oldest pub in Brugges, museums, the Augustinian monastery (with daily Mass) and good restaurants are easy walks from the front door. Jacobs is a family style hotel with a young, happy and helpful staff: Johann was more than gracious with his time when we needed some assistance in travel plans, and being greeted by the joyful and witty Nils at the front desk is well worth the stay. We loved it.
