Hotel Anselmus - Bruges

The picture of the front of the hotel is accurate however our rooms were in an annexe at the rear of the building overlooking a fairly noisy street. It was a pity that neither room had a shower - only a hand held sprinkler on the bath (there was no means of attaching it to the wall). We ate at Le Couvert on the Saturday evening. The food was delicious and the ambiance just right. It only has 22 covers so booking is essential. Really enjoyed the weekend but would not stay at the Anselmus again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely little hotel. The location was perfect, close to everything but also in a quiet street. Breakfast was great, buffet style with perfectly cooked boiled egg. The reason for rating quietness of rooms as 7 was the squeeky floorboards but this really did just add to the character of the hotel.

Excellent hôtel , central mais au calme . Accueil excellent attentif et discret . Ambiance "comme à la maison " , confort douillet et harmonieux , sans prétention . En cas de handicap demander une chambre en rez de chaussée car escalier "typique " des maisons flamandes malaisé au deuxième étage .

The rooms are noisy

We stayed at the Anselmus for a long weekend. We drove in, and the hotel owner immediately assisted us with baggage and parked our car, which was tricky because of a festival that had most streets blocked in the area. He also recommended some very good restaurants, helped with postage, provided a tourist map and discount card, and served a nice breakfast buffet. The location was great - close enough to walk everywhere in the medieval center of Bruges with our kids, but still in a quiet neighborhood where we had no trouble sleeping. Our only complaints were that one of the beds had a sagging mattress (we put our young son on that one) and the tub did not have a full enclosure in order to easily use the sprayer as a shower.

We had a double standard room, extremelly clean. The owners were very polite and friendly and breakfast was lovely in a garden like room. I will highly recommend this hotel...

The hotel was in a great position and the rooms were very clean and with enough room, breakfast was good. Directions to hotel on web site shoulf mention what street off Market Square you need to go down - otherwise very easy to find and we would highly recommend.

The location is perfect, only takes 2or 3 minuts to reach markett place

Nice family owned operated hotel. Owners gave us alternatives of restaurants and local attractions. breakfast room vey nice with a garden view. Our room was upgraded. We will return to The Anselmus on our next visit. Loved Brugge!

Our room was a little small but very clean.

Very handy location, in the very heart of Bruges, 100 mt from the Burg, 300 mt from the Markt and still quiet. This little hotel is a real jewel in its kind.

Car park clean,safe, but expensive (€12/night)
