Hotel was clean and exactly as described. the 4 poster bed was a little small but perfectly adequate. Nice bar area with use of the Nintendo Wii. Bathroom in room could probably use a little rennovation/updating, and the shower was not very powerful. Location was good.

Pleasant but incompetent receptionist who could not find venere reservation and advised that there wasn't one and I should have booked via hotel website. She eventually found it. I had phoned prior to arrival to check policy on dogs. i was told no problem provided dog did not go in restaurant. This is very reasonable but when I arrived they attempted to charge a 50% excess fee for the dog. On appeal to the manager this was waived but I was reallocated a very poor room: poor because tv did not work; extremely shabby and very very noisey. The bar area was very pleasant and bar staff efficient. Location by the old West Pier was very good. Parking was £15 extra but could be avioided as free parking outside on the prom from 18:00-08:00-this again was not advised by hotel. Overall for Brighton (which is very expensive) it was reasonable but my experience left me feeling disatisfied-I will not be hurrying back.

The reception waiting for us at the Kings came in the form of a grumpy, incredibly rude Polish woman called Ratika who made sure we felt as unwanted as her job. The single room was just big enough to breathe in but too hot and stuffy to actually breathe in! Nice breakfast room and 2 lovly guys at reception when we checked out were its only saving grace.

Although it is in a great location right across from the beach, not all rooms are sea-view rooms. Mine was not and it was tiny, barely 7 feet across! The bathroom, however, was surprisingly not tiny. It was quiet enough once I figured out that the noise I kept hearing was the pigeons outside. I opened the windows a little for air but there were no screens on them...I was a tad worried that a pigeon might fly in if I opened them too far. The door had no deadbolt, only a center button lock....and no peephole. The bathroom, however, had a deadbolt. The furniture looks a tad dated and there's no artwork or decor whatsoever. I did like the electric waterpot though....it had the water boiling within a half minute! You have to leave your key at the desk when you go out and then hope they aren't busy when you come back and need it back. I thought it a tad pricey for such tiny accomodations with no view but it still seemed to be one of the cheaper ones in Brighton. It wasn't so terrible that I wouldn't stay there again.

The room was rather small, I thought. One side of the bed was touching the wall, which I don't like. Otherwise everything was fine - the bed was particularly comfortable, and I would have slept well but for a 4 a.m.fire alarm! The place was clean, everything worked, and the english breakfast, included in the very reasonable price, was fine. This is not a luxury hotel but it was perfectly adequate for my purpose.

Room was adequate for a short stay, clean but in need of a touch of paint. Hotel car park was just a piece of open ground close to Hotel with about 12 spaces, not covered or secure.
