This is a 'no frills' hotel that does a satisfactory job for the right clientèle. To be clear, this is NOT a bed and breakfast (you have to go elsewhere for food) and it is NOT the sort of place you'd want to go with your partner for a romantic break. HOWEVER, if you're looking for somewhere to rest your head if you're in the area for a weekend of partying, or on a short business trip or short break, this hotel is good enough, as long as you're not too fussy. My room was tiny but had everything I'd expect - a bed, a wardrobe, a TV, and a bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, as is a small tube of shower gel. I arrived at around 9pm due to train delays and I had to bang on the door because the intercom wasn't working, but the young man who served me was pleasant, as was the man I handed my key to as I checked out. MINOR COMPLAINTS: One of the hinges on the toilet seat needs replacing; the TV couldn't pick up some of the main Freeview channels; my shower became freezing cold half way through, and it took a minute or so to sort itself out. WOULD I STAY THERE AGAIN?: In a word, YES, but do be aware this really is a no frills place. It was clean and quiet, and that was enough for me.

Close to the beach, not far to walk to Brighton Pier, the Royal Pavillion and the Lanes (15th century houses with many jewellers' shops and restaurants), rather central location Good breakfast opposite to the left corner, round this corner next corner right side nice and popular pub, another typical recommendable pub "The Ranelagh" with terrace garden St. Jamses' Street, direction west to town centre, on the right side. Fine dining at The Hotel du Vin, 2 Ship Street, Brighton is absolutely worth a visit. Was 2nd visit to Brighton, first one was just on an excursion

The shower had to have been the smallest I have ever seen

the room was very basoc standard and there was no welcome or introduction. Very sparse and small poky room. Very small shower and basically clean but not value for money. Very impersonal and would only stay there as a last resort. clientele to suit hen or stag parties

Good quality, small but nice room - but the paying conditions are not as announced and as usual. Other than written they took the rate for one night in advance, directly when it was booked. Further they want the complete amount for the week just when we arrived. Usually I paid in UK at the end of the stay. One should know it before, but after all it doesn't matter, 'cause the room and service were really good.

Would be nice if breakfast was included but for value for money very good. Our room was very spacious and would definitely book again. Ideally situated one minute from the sea front.
