The hotel was in need of refurbishment and looked tired and worn. The hotel was busy but the room allocated was in need of decoration and upgrade.

Briancon in summer is a very nice place for couple with children. About the hotel Minus: - The hotel was good, but when we arrived we found an awful smell in the room: in the wastebasket we found two dirty nappies.. - The parking is not big enough Plus: - The hotel is near new-town center - It's quite near the Schappe park, just a little walk away.

please don't sign my review below with the country "spain" as we don't feel it being ours. do it with the proper one "catalunya". we don't want people to get misunderstandings of our origin. should you insist in using the name spain, we'll have to change another travelling internet company. thank you.

Excellent location for skiers (200m/4 mins from gondola and also ski bus)and restaurants (within 5 mins) . Very good buffet breakfast & friendly/welcoming staff. Well satisfied with most aspects of the hotel eg spacious clean room,location and nice bar/lounge - but bathroom a little tired and dated (though nothing we couldn't live with even after 4 nights at the hotel). Excellent value overall & so satisfied that we are booking to go back in a few weeks for more Serre Chevalier skiing.

Well-worn room, bath and basin plugs only provided after request. Very basic breakfast, had to ask for milk. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was good. The hotel management appears to be under the misguided impression that this hotel is far better than it is.

The hotel had an excellent location but was rather noisy as it was on a busy road. It had double glazing which ameliorated the noise. the staff were friendly and helpful and Briancon was brilliant. We spent an extra day there and could easily have spent more time in this attractive town.

How to reach Hotel Vauban

By car
From Turin: take A55 motorway, direction Piacenza, Savona, Frejus and exit at Bruère. Then take the A32 motorway until Oulx Est exit. Take SS24 and once in France, change to the N94 National road and follow until Briançon.
From Grenoble: take the N85 national road towards Briançon, then the N91 road through La Grave and Col du Lautaret until you reach Briançon.

By train
The nearest railway station is in Briançon, 200 metres from the hotel.

By airplane
The nearest international airports are Torino Caselle and Grenoble-Isère, both around 100 km from the hotel. You can reach the property by train.
