I spent many months working in Brest over the past 2 years, staying mostly at the Continental. The Conti has real atmosphere and comfortable well-appointed rooms which are reasonably priced. It's well located for both business and leisure, and though the town itself was nearly destroyed in WW2, it has lovely parks & gardens and is close to some of the most scenic areas in Brittany. Even if you don't have a car, the excellent public transport network will get you to a lot of places by bus, rail or ferry (and you can walk to all of those). Brest is the main commercial centre in Finistere and well served by air if you have to travel within Europe on business or need to cross the channel to UK. I've visited twice with my wife and she loves it too - for comfort, proximity to shopping and scenic/historical attractions. Also gives the breakfast a thumbs up and remarks on how nice the staff are. I would personally rate it as the best hotel in town.
