The hotel operates a system that if you arrive outside office hours, you ring a number and they let you in. Unfortunately, despite having warned them that we would be arriving late, I could not contact them on the phone. So we had no alternative but to find another hotel for the first night (not something you want to do at 11.30pm in a strange city). Apart from being very inconvenient for us, the reaction of the hotel employees was highly negative: their attitude was that this was the system so tough. It took very strongly worded complaint and escalation to obtain compensation. This was eventually provided in full, but grudgingly and without adequate apology. The hotel is quite pleasant and the location fine, so it is pity that the staff and the service let it down.

I travelled with my girl friend, the hotel was very good for long and short trip.

Very nice hotel for short stays. 15 min walk from the city centre. Very quiet, maybe too quiet. I was a single traveler and got a huge dobbel rom on the top floor. The rooms on the top floor have roof windows with no view.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for only three nights but were quite happy with the room and the food (breakfast was included). The whole hotel is clean, the room comfortable and the area, facing the river, is a good neighbourhood. The only slightly negative comment we have to make is that the staff - although courteous and helpful - does not speak English except for one person who is not on the premises all the time.

as in other feedback key and door set up is unwecoming and somewhat confusing if you dont speak the language good i did i/we also found the landlady was rude and offensive about us as i found out as she didnt know i am fluent in german!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hotel well placed to walk into town. Limited parking. Large bedroom with very large and well appointed bathroom. This was a basement room so there was some noise from the main road. Some furniture look tired.

Directions from tram could be clearer (Go back from stop indicated, turn left, go to end of that road, hotl is on right). Nobody on duty when I arrived. remote control check-in worked ok. (Intercom) Watch your step. There are some irregular steps. Breakfast was fine. The surroundings were good. I was quite happy with this hotel.

A small hotel within a group of three in Bremen. The hotel occupies an attractive early twentieth century villa overlooking (as the name implies) the River Weser. Although somewhat out of the centre of the beautiful town, a walk of no more than ten minutes will get you there (turn right out of the hotel; walk straight on). We occupied two large and traditonally furnished rooms on the first floor. Breakfast in the ground floor dining room followed the usual German pattern. Two tips about arriving at the hotel: (i) The map on the website is woefully inadequate for those arriving by train. Use the tramway to complete your journey. Before boarding the tram, buy tickets from a tobacconist or newspaper stall or from the office of the local transport undertaking (there's one of these at the main railway station). From the station, take tram route 10 (direction Sebaldsbruck) four stops (to the Sielwall stop). After alighting, walk back to the traffic lights,turn left into Seilwall and continue about 500 metres to the end of the road. At the end, turn right into Osterdeich: the hotel is the second building along on your right. (ii) If you arrive when the hotel is unstaffed, a notice on the front door will direct you to use the house telephone to contact the group's central reception desk. Once your reservation has been verified, you will be given the combination to a safe from which you can take your room keys (which also double as keys to the hotel's front door).
