albergo decisamente squallido.

old, very old. it is obvious that the kiyev hotel has seen better days. chipped and dented tiles, sink and bathtabs, smelly corridors and worn carpets should be renewed asap. however, welcoming staff, great breakfast and good location (within minutes walking from the beautifull old city )make it a good choise for its price.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, I was actually scared! There is nothing good to say. The place is worse than a lot of hostels I have stayed in. The beds are all single slabs, pushed together if you ask for a double. The furniture looks like a student house - coffee table propped up with bricks! The walls are paper thin and I am convinced there were dodgy dealing in the room next to us. Not to mention the person giving singing lessons every day in the other room. It was insanely noisy and you could hear everything the person in the next room did or said. I kept thinking people were coming in to our room. The elevators open long before you reach the floor which is scary enough but they rattle and shake as well! We didn't even bother with breakfast. This is all bad enough but the scariest thing was the incredibly sloshed guy at the front desk sining soviet chants until 4am in the morning with all the stag groups that piled in. scary scary scary. The guys couldn't even muster a sentence when I went to check out. I can honestly say I found the whole experience threatening and horrible and I would never ever ever ever recommend this hotel! PS, if you are going to Bratislava for anything other than family or business AVOID it, there is nothing to do!

I wish I'd never booked it. I didn't like it. Old, very old bulding and smells old.

We only booked for 2 nights, and having read other ratings for this hotel we should have been better prepared for the shock on entering the room.It was like stepping back in time. The carpets were old and badly stained, the bright yellow bath was very worn and too risky to get into.Although on the 14th floor the windows opened fully (ideal for those contemplating suicide after entering and seeing the room.)The beds were about 6 inches off the floor but I must say that the sheets and towels were clean. This has got to be the worst hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in,but considering the locality to the old town, the price paid(£55 a night)we still had a very nice time in Bratislava.

Yes, this hotel is tired, and its reminiscent of the old communist days and nothing seems to have been decorated since then. But the room was comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the location in the city great. By the way, you do not need more than one night in Bratislava - theres nothing there!

I will agree with most other travelers. The location is super, 5 minutes (walk) from the old town. Staff is very friendly, and the rooms are very clean. The retro feel is obvious, both in the form of art-deco furniture and the inevitable wear & tear. Overall Hotel Kyjev is a great place if you want a nice, clean, safe and reasonably priced place to stay. I wouldn't recommend it if you are the 4-star crowd. This hotel offers good quality basic accommodation at the best possible price so close to the center.

I didn't like so much that hotel. The room is really simple, the bathroom was absolutely inadequate. All was old.The lift was very slow and I was at the eigth floor. On the other side I have to say there is a good compromise between price and quality. Then the hotel is really near to the city center.

My expectations were not too high in relation to the price given. My first room was quite ordinary, and there were sign of ruptures in the painting in the ceiling. The second night Bratislava got a severe thunder storm and after some time water started leaking from the ceiling on 3-4 spots(this was at the 14th floor). I called the receiption and they offered me a new room. This turned out to be a so called Appartment which was quite large. No more leakages so in the end I was happy.

I satyed one night in room 703. I was affraid because comments on the hotel, but it was fine. My room was clean, spacious, old furniture but for the price and location excelent deal. Free wifi in lobby as well as a PC with high speed internet free. Receptionist very friendly.

You have the impression to return back to the Sixties but in their worst conditions. Maybe at the time the hotel was brand new, a stunning 13 floors building in the city centre with moquette all over and a design touch. But today what you get is an old place which looks filthy and partially unsafe (elevators!!!) that absolutely needs a serious restoration. I didn't dare to try the breakfast. Nice welcoming, anyway.
