Hotel La Maison du Lierre - Bordeaux

We arrived at 2:30 pm. Entrance door was locked. Did not have a code to open the front door and enter the hotel. A receptionist would have arrived only at 17h30. Luckily another guest entering the property at that time let us in and we could see our name on the reception door informing us of our room number (key left on the door) Discovered our room on 4th floor and no elevator. Rooms extremely small and ridiculous, small bathroom.

Nice welcoming, wonderful breakfast, very clean and lighty room, basic furnitures, cute elementary decoration.

There was a quite big difference between the picutre in the internet and the reality. Also the decoration of the hotel at first sight looks nice , the hotel shows signs of untended. We booked a double room but the size of the room would not even fit a single room. In my opinion the hotel does not meet the standard of a hotel it is more the standard of a youth hostel.

This hotel is very well located and quite a nice family run hotel, however there are timber floors with no coverings and the lower rooms are very noisy. Breakfast is quite expensive for what you get, (set menu) but there is a delightful courtyard for the warmer months. We stayed 3 nights and were very happy with the convenient location. Rooms are small, beds OK and pillows awful. Bathrooms are good.

The Hotel was closed, when we arrived at 9 pm. Nowbody replied to our ringing. A neighbour helped us phoning to the proprietor, who gave us a code for entering in the house and in a frosty room. Complet selve service was asked for.We are completly disappointed from Maison du Lierre!

What a lovely little hotel!! Very welcoming, and beautifully decorated - breakfast in the quiet courtyard is a lovely way to start the day in Bordeaux... beds and bathrooms v good, but most loved the attention to detail in the furnishings and the fluffyness of the towels! v good location too!

We really liked this hotel. It was beautifully decorated, comfortable and the hotel staff was very friendly. Our only problem was a heat wave in Bordeaux made our room unbearably hot during the day. It cooled off nicely during the night and the staff supplied us with a fan. They were very gracious when we asked to check out after only one of three reserved nights. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone going to Bordeaux.

La Maison du Lierre was a hotel that had bed and breakfast charm. The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. I was traveling with my sister who speaks French so it made communication very easy. The rooms are small but very clean. The location was great also because it wasn't very touristy, yet a few blocks from the tram station. We came right from the Bordeaux train station jumped on the tram exited at the last stop and then walked to the hotel from there. There are also great restaurants in the area, especially La Bonne Table (delicious).

I thought Maison du Lierre was lovely. The hotel was modern and clean, yet kept that french style that you want to experience. Very friendly staff and lovely breakfast. The hotel is located in a very central spot, and yet was quiet. Very impressed would definately stay there again.

You may require some French as the owner does not speak English and the hotel reception keeps limited opening hours. An extremely well placed hotel for the centre of the city, but parking is quite a walk away and expensive.
