The hotel price was best in town. It was cheap and I got what was offered. Only one person spoke English at the reception. I speak 3 languages, but still found it hard to make myself understood. The breakfast was poor, no meat poducts were offered or even eggs. A young woman set in a little cubbyhole asking for the room number, but no help she offered. They charged 7 euros for veggie breakfast. The room was small. TV had 1 English speaking channel CNN. One consolation though the WIFI in the room, though it was very slow the second night. All in all, I would still reccomend them. If someone want a cheap accommodation right next to the railway station this hotel is the answer. Direct buses go to the airport from the opposite side of the road for 7 euros.

The best thing about the Arcantis - especially if you're only passing through Bordeaux as I was - is its proximity to the Gare St Jean train. It's directly opposite, which is especially welcoming if you arrive in Bordeaux late at night after a long journey and are unfamiliar with the city. The room that I stayed in was small and functional - definitely no 'luxuries' such as a kettle or a jug of water - but had a decent TV. The only drawback was the size of the bathroom - tiny, and you have to climb over the loo to get to the shower, which can be dangerous! The staff on the reception desk were kind and curteous.

I stayed in one room 9/19/07 and 9/20/07. The room and the bathroom were average. The room's bathroom I stayed on 9/26/07 was unexeptable. I payed the same price as the first one. Room was much smaller and bathroom had a toilet with front being less then 12 inches from the wall. I could use it only from the side with a bad results. I had to clean what went over the seat. Most digusting experience. To get to the shower I had to climbe over the toilet.

it was in close proximity to train station as needed, right across street, room was clean, management was fine, thought it would be a quieter, older establishment, didn't expect the hoards of students, and the room and bathroom were the smallest i've ever seen but it served the purpose, but would not repeat stay there.very budget hotel.free wifi in lobby was appreciated.

This hotel was in a rough part of town, close to a railway station and some scary characters, hotel was worn out and my husband and children got stuck in the lift whcih terrified the 12 year old, probably would not return to this city or hotel
