Extensive construction was in progress at the building directly across from the hotel, otherwise the location would have been excellent. The rooms were small, as expected, but the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Bordeaux is a wonderful city and this hotel far exceeded our expectations. For a two star hotel, it provided everything we would expect from a three star hotel. It is extremely well located, dangerously close to great shopping! Our room was well equipped and very clean. The bathroom was small and a bit daggy, but clean and adequate. We really appreciated being able to close the window shutters and turn on the air conditioning to sleep at night, we had the best sleep. The restaurant and cafe/bar attached to the hotel downstairs was really handy for a nightcap. We had breakfast in the hotel dining room on both mornings and the food and beverages were terrific and the service was really friendly and efficient. Nothing seemed to be any trouble. We wished we could have stayed longer in Bordeaux and we would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Bordeaux. The only issue we had was that the literature provided by the hotel stated that the hotel was only 500 meters from the train station, which was incorrect. We found a tourist information office at the station and they told us we had to catch a tram. The hotel would do better to provide more thorough directions. We're really glad the hotel wasn't 500 meters from the train station, it's a really terrible area.

Hotel positioned at the center of the old Bordeaux. Very beautiful for visits, but no parking at the hotel, next parking possibility in the sub-earth garage of a market-hall.

This hotel has an excellent location. There was a little noise from someone next door for a short while. In the morning I had no hot water, which was really not good. I had to catch a train, so did not have time to resolve. The staff was courteous and helpful, the room was nice, so all else was fine. I stayed for 2 nights a month later and all was very well.

Second stay here in 2009 was excellent. The location is excellent. Plenty to see and do and wonderful restaurants and sights close by. Easy short walk to and from tram that drops off right at the train station.

Well located nice clean hotel conveniently. Because on a semi-pedestrian street was difficult to initially locate. Convenient but not inexpensive parking located very nearby.

Excellent location. My second visit to the Continental and hopefully not the last. Paid a little extra for the superior rooms, which lived up to expectations. Some confusion over breakfast - there was a special offer of free express breakfast which we didn't know about till last day! So more information would have been better on the welcome. Some noisy building work going on nearby (May '09), sleeping late was not an option some days but this was not the hotel's fault.

In the end we checked out without staying the night. Work was going on opposite and to the hotel itself. Whilst the staff were very helpful and it is probably value for money, we took one look at the bed and decided to leave. It was way too small when my husband is 6'3". The map was none too clear it would have been easier with a written description but the scaffolding did not help.

Nice hotel. Quite. We traveled with a 15 months old baby from Spain to Brittany and stop there for the night. The staff was very helpfull. We plan to stay there again on our way back to Spain.

A very pleasant hotel in the most central position. The breakfast could have been a bit better with more fruit salad, but otherwise excellent.

The accommodation was as expected for this class of hotel and the 'express' petit dejeuner was good value. Despite our rating for noise, it too was to be expected due to the necessary, and admirable, restoration of an old building across the road. Good central location for exploring this beautiful city. Free wi-fi also appreciated.

Centrally located, typical 2*. Close to shops, restaurants and underground parking. Unfortunately the building work opposite (due to finish June '09) is very noisy.

There was construction work going on in the building across the road so we were woken up at 7 every morning. Restaurants nearby are fairly expensive, but a quick walk away from the "Golden Triangle" prices are more reasonable.

Good location close to trolley and shops but noisy construction across road until Dec 2009 so ask for room at rear of hotel. Our rear room was huge but no mini bar/refrigerator to store fruit or water and no A/C. Staff helpful. Slow lift. Rooms need to be updated.

expensive for a 2 star hotel but it is in the centre of Bordeaux and thus you get what you pay for. The hotel is a little tired but the staff were attentive. Overall, no complaints except that parking in the local public parking was 17 euros per day!

My suitcase was not unloaded in Paris and went on to India. The hotel understood my unhappiness about this fact and was involved with my retrieval of the bag three days after my arrival in France and a day after we left the hotel. Hard for me to judge to whom I would recommend the hotel. I was with someone who spoke French and knows Bordeaux well.

The Hotel Continental will not overwhelm you but, given the price and the location (right in the middle of Bordeaux), it's an overall good deal. The rooms and furniture are tired, however, the rooms are clean. I would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone looking to live it up on the town and come back to a clean room to sleep. The only negative is that the location is very hard to find when driving. It is located on a pedestrian walkway and is not visible from the street.

The Continental is a lovely little hotel located in the heart of bordeaux center. The staff was very helpful and as we wanted to extend our stay for 1 night they gave us a new, more expensive room, but charged us the same price as for the first nigt! I would recommend hotel Continental!

The location of the hotel in the center of Bordeaux was excellent. We stayed in a double standing room facing the street. The view was good. The room was moderate size. We had a chance to peek into a standard rooms, and found out that they were a little too small for two people. Over all I would recomend this hotel for its location and cleanliness.

Vey well situated hotel with great reception area and breakfast room but comparatively plain room which are however spacious, clean and quiet. Air conditioning works and some of the upper rooms have balconies with a fine view. An excellent budget choice for central bordeaux.

I stayed in a single room in August 2007. The room was small, but clean, and satisfactory...no air conditioning, but the weather wasn't very hot so it seemed fine. The staff are very nice and helpful, but like alot of other people have said, the location and the price make this a very good choice for a short stay in Bordeaux on a budget

Value for money was excellent, as were the location and staff. The room was very clean. Our shower was very good, but the shower curtain was broken. Also, the room was very dark! Overall, we were very happy with our stay, and would certainly stay again... Thank you!
