Lovely, very helpful staff. Hotel was a little "Eastern Block-ish": Dark, not terribly stylish, rooms on the small-ish side. Nothing like the charming, Provincial establishment we thought we'd seen in the online listing. In other words, not a place to which I looked forward to returning at the end of a day of exploring the city of Bordeaux St. Jean. The location of the hotel is also odd: a little area of the city, which seemed itself kind of a USSR version of "modern", slightly out-of-the-way and a $20EU taxi ride from the train-station. My daughter and I decided to spend a little extra for what was advertised as 3 star accomodations. What we got, beyond the staff, was considerably less. On the other hand, I didn't see any hotels in the center of the city with vacancies, so that may be a function of the popularity of the place.

Very central we all enjoyed the stay.

My only complaint was I shared a pot of coffee with a friend and ate one small two bite roll and was charged 18 euros for a full breakfast. It was my fault for not noticing the cost before I ate that roll however! Except for that, the value was excellent, and the hotel and staff could not have been more helpful, pleasant and welcoming.

Venere.com was able to book me a reservation at Hotel Burdigalia when a travel agent was told hotel was sold out. Glad I stumbled upon Venere.com website. It was very easy to make reservation.

The Hotel was of an excellent standard, the staff were extremely attentive and pleasant. The quality and presentation of the food in the Restaurant was first class, they must have an excellent chef. We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending to friends.

Warm and freindly staff, A most enjoyable stay would highly recommend the hotel to others visiting bordeaux.

This hotel is located too distant from tourist activities in an unsightly neibhborhood. This is a tour/business meeting hotel and does not suffer individuals or couples gladly. The management is there to sell not to service their clients and they are not particular which methods they employ. If we had not retained a copy of our contract with you, they would have charged us for breakfast which was included in our agreement. We will never go back there and I intend to write to Guide Michelin to tell them the same story. Regards, Dick Runkel
