This hotel was so far from the city that it took 3 hours for a cab to pick us up, no one wanted to come. The hotel is not air conditioned and it was 85 w/humidity outside. The clerk at the front desk was nice and cancelled our reservation and we went to another nicer hotel. This hotel is no better than a 2 star. We were sadly dissapointed.

Ok, fairly decent. Tram stops just down the road and public transport is clear and easy to use. Rooms were ok, ours had a microwave which we found useful. Not amazing but not bad.

Seems expensive to Brits because of poor exchange rate. public transport and access to town centre is excellent and very cheap. we did not use taxis and never took the car out of the very good underground car park.

Information on your website Alton Hotel was a little misleading. It is not clear how far from city centre and makes little reference to the easiness of use of the tram service. This would have been useful to know as soon as we arrived. A little more information from the hotel on the tram would be a great help. Although the room was large and clean, it was very clinical and smelt a little like a hospital. The room we stayed in is obviously in need of refurbishment, the bedding was very dated and for the price paid we would have expected better.

Zona apartada del centro, a diez minutos de tranvía, y una media hora caminando. El desayuno era pobre y caro, al no tener competencia en la zona, pues no existían establecimientos cercanos.

Overall good value with excellent position with relation to the trainway service. Access to bathroom difficult due to poor siting and hanging of doors.

City centre easy to reach by tram which was 200 metres from hotel. Room a bit on the drab side and needing a facelift, but good size.

Great location on the light rail and an easy stroll into the city. Parking 7 Euro a day but thats Europe. Rooms were spotless and WC very neat and tidy. There was a little noise from other rooms but other than we were very happy.

This hotel is not very central as you may be led to beleive from this site. But it is right on one of the tram lines with frequent trams into the city. Still you have to allow about 30-40 mins to get to the tourist office (which involves a change of tram). The tourist office is where a lot of the wine tours etc leave from. And they leave exactly on time whether you are there or not. Still for the price this was a very good hotel. The only disappointment is the hotel restaurant which appears to be very understaffed. As a result you can sit unattended for very long periods of time. It took us about 15 mins to order and at least 45 mins with much hounding till we eventually got the bottle of wine we ordered. There is a much better restaurant with great service just a short walk up the road. We used this restaurant after our first night's experience and thoroughly enjoyed it. Go up the main road (with the tram track) towards the city for about 150m or so. On the left is a side street with a restaurant you can see about 40m or so down that street.
