Very comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast in garden. Best and most silent air conditioning of any hotel we have stayed in.

This hotel is old fashioned and has seen it´s last renovation in the 70 ies. Furniture is tasteless. Breakfast room is so bad. Quality/Price is bad. For € 60 per night it could be acceptable.

We stayed for three nights in July 2008. The room was large and newly renovated. The garden and the pool was very nice. The breakfast is a bit poor.

We are senior citizens. We loved the situation, the welcome, the pretty little garden, the breakfast garden, the freedom afforded a large group of American students (thanks to the excellent friendly and helpful staff). We realise space is limited in Venice. This is a perfect jewel. We have already reccomended it to others in our family and long to return. And, a wonderful luxury, NO TELEVISION! I could see that a group of students were very happy in this hotel, so I have said it is suitable for groups.HOWEVER, they were very interested in the culture of the city, very friendly and considerate. I would not want to encourage groups of football fans or stag weekends. It would not be at all suitable.

Romma was spacious and clean, but the hotel has not beed modernated since the 80's. Results are a good overall stay, but the price could have been lower.

We arrived in Bolzano later than expected. We walked from the train station to the tourist information office and picked up a map and directions to the hotel. The double superior room we had booked was not available, so the concierge gave us a very nice triple for the same price. Check-in was so quick we were able to walk back across town to see the Iceman Museum before it closed. The hotel provided a substantial english-style breakfast and compared very favorably to other hotels on our trip in terms of amenities and price. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, which was the perfect one if you are driving to Bolzano. We especially appreciated Pieter, who was very helpful and nice to talk to.

Excellent hotel in every way. A relief to get to after high-priced hotels with little amenities in the larger cities of Italy.

We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is more substantive then other places in Italy. Definitely recommend the funicular to Oberbozen and the surrounding hiking areas. Reception was very helpful.

The Hotel is one of the oldest in Bolzano, and hasn't had a lot done to it. It has an old world charm, with modern conveniences including wireless broadband internet. The rooms were spacious and clean, with quite modern ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast was great. The hotel staff were very knowledgable, helpful and efficient - inparticular the young manager Peter. It is very central to the old part of the city, yet quiet.

Walking distance from town, but don't try to find it without a map or GPS. Somewhat faded glory, but clean & typical for an older Euro hotel. Very helpful front desk staff.

Our brief stay at the Scala-Stiegl Hotel was as pleasant as the lovely city of Balzano! The room was spacious and immaculate, the staff helpful and friendly, and the breakfast provided was outstanding.

Close to the center with an exceptionally competent and friendly receptionist. Quality of the kitchen (for dinner as well as breakfast) was excellent, but unfortunately the service was rather poor and unfriendly. Attached to the building is one of the best known vine cellars and vine makers in Bolzano. Our children liked the hotel very much.
