We had been staying in a very small town, wanted something more busy and exciting, location was perfect although somewhat tough to arrive by car. Would highly recommend.

Very spacious for an Italian hotel. Also very clean and what bliss a large bathroom with a bathtub and spacious shower. Just needs air conditioning as was slightly stuffy during July. Also needs bar fridge for snacks when you have children. We were told parking was only a few spaces at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good. Lovely 10 -15 minute walk to the city heart and markets.

That was my first time in Hotel Post Gries. I passed amazing days there. The restaurant is very good, too! It is in a nice area of Bozen and reaching the centre of the town is easy and quick, anyway.

A standard three star hotel, clean and pleasant. The staff were polite but not warm. The hotel is located a good ten to fifteen minutes walk from the real centre of the city, across the river, but the walk is pleasant. Breakfast is another ordinary hotel breakfast. There are not a lot of restaurants close to the hotel so you need to eat in the centre. We thought it was relatively expensive compared with hotels in Germany and Austria.

The directions given for arrival from the autostrade are very confusing, as there is no sign at the exit directing you towards Gries. The staff were very helpful with suggestions for restaurants, etc.

We stayed two nights in this hotel and were glad we had chosen it. It is a very nice hotel in a pleasant and reasonably quiet area of a beautiful town. It has been recently refurbished to an impeccable standard (although there is no air conditioning). It has a good sized restaurant with a separate bar, well worth using, with very friendly and helpful waiting staff. Within walking distance of the town centre but would recommend taking a bus or taxi to and from the station. We knew nothing at all about Bolzano, apart from it being in the Alps, before we went; don't know much more about it now except that it must be a little secret with the Italians-and that it is a beautiful, friendly and clean town with a perfect blend of Italian and Alpine architecture that is a credit to the town planners/authorities over the ages. There are plenty of bus and train services into the mountains, and the only English we heard was that spoken by those locals who knew it: by the way, German is the predominant language. We would definitely like to return, and would have no hesitation about staying at Post Gries again. Our holiday in Italy this time was for a week, wished we had spent it all here (and the rest of the week was wonderful).

Very nicely furnished, clean rooms; large bathroom with tub and shower. Within walking distance of Old Town. Convenient free parking onsite. Typical European breakfast. Wireless internet available (weak signal) but must be paid by the hour - a bit expensive.

Very nice place, but not very close to the center of town. We like to walk a lot so it wasn't a problem, but people with small children or older travelers might want to stay closer to Piazza Walhter.

My wife and I stayed at the Post Gries for one night on our way to Merano. The room and section of Bolzano were very nice. Our top floor room appeared to have been remodeled recently and the bathroom was elegant. Staff and service were great. Highly recommend. Don & Gail Borio

We were 3 ladies on shopping tour - and at checking in the receptionist asked us, if we knew that sales began the next day. What more can one wish for? ;-) The staff was very nice and helpful, breakfast delicious and the rooms (we stayed in a 3 bed-room) spacious and very clean. Late risers might not like the church nearby, as it draws one´s attention to the sound of its bells (also) at early hours. We had a room above the street, which seemed small, but actually was rather sound reflecting (motor bikes and happy people during the night). (We left the window open at nights has to be mentionned.) But we anyhow had to get up early to have enough time for shopping as most shops close between 12-15hrs. So if we can´t find next time a hotel in the center (to avoid the 15 Min walk - we had to do that at around 37°C), this hotel will definitely be our first address again.

The hotel is OK, but the service and mind-set of management is bad. Our Quad-room had no air-condition nor refrigerator. The weather was warm with 35 degrees. The Venere website said that the rooms had aircon, but the management said that the Quad-rooms had not. They refused to move us to another room(s) with aircon. Management became almost hostile when I demenaded to be moved to room with Aircon. The stay was not pleasant.

Very nice people with very clean rooms. I was pleased with all aspects of this visit. Not too near the center of town, but within a ten minute walk. Had great food at the pizzeria next door-delicious local, seasonal food. Hosts very accomodating and breakfast buffet fresh and appetizing.

The rooms and general hotel facilities were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful to the extent of assisting with our hotel accomodations, taxis, etc. We had left some luggage at the train station of our previous destination and, not speaking much Italian, needed assistance with contacting the train station to inquire about possibly locating the luggage. The first staff member did not provide any assistance. The second staff member did provide a phone number, but refused to assist us with the phone call. Unfortunately, since we did not speak enough Italian to even navigate the train station's automated voicemail, we were unsuccessful in even connecting with anyone. I had hoped the staff at the hotel would have been a little more helpful to foreign tourists caught in a bind. Would we stay again? Absolutely as the rooms and rest of the hotel were top-notch and hopefully our next visit would not require the same type of assistance.

Excellent hotel, Bolzano is gorgeous. Hotel restaurant was very good. Many good restaurants close by! Walking distance to the city center. Just outside and around the corner there are red bicycles for rent, 5 euro a day. We highly recommend this hotel! Only common areas are air conditioned but in July 2006 it was cool, breezy and the large windows and fans were more than enough to keep us quite comfortable. The summer was very hot elsewhere in Italy but Bolzano was a coll refreshing change.

The Post Gries is an excellent quality property - both in terms of quality and service. The breakfast is very good and the hotel staff extremely helpful. A nice location for those prefering the Germanic portion of Bolzano, away however from the old city center.

It was a nice hotel with friendly employees. Most of the hotels don't have a family room, but Post Gries has that. Dinner and breakfast were also good and was very nice priced. We would recommend this hotel to other people. Gijsbertus de Goeij from Holland.

We were very happy with our stay at Post Gries. The bathroom in our room was enormous! It had a seperate shower and bathtub, with a great window view of the Dolomites. Bedroom was small, very large bed, numerous windows. Very modern and clean. Hope we will stay there again. Fantastic town.
