Really nice property although somewhat far from town centre. Good attention by staff. The rooms are simple but spacious. Unfortunately, not all have a nice view over the pool or toward the mountains. The breakfast buffet was quite delicious even though it could have had more variety. The main drawback: NO AIR CONDITIONING. In a hot summer like this, it was really a necessity, specially in the third floor rooms. Having a pool on the premises is a great plus if you travel with children. All in all, a nice play to stay, although for the price, one can probably shop around.

While the hotel desk staff were fairly cool and inattentive, the restaurant staff was excellent. The pool and gardens were wonderful, beautiful views, and lots of room. The town is quite hot in summer and there is no AC - so plan on sleeping with the windows wide open. AC and a little more caring from the staff would greatly increase my opinion of this hotel. The restaurant is quite good, nice outdoor seating and fun, friendly service.

The air conditioning system in the room did not work. They sent someone to verify this, who said they would fix it or give us another room. In fact, they did not fix it, and we did not hear from them again. The weather was not too hot, so we stayed in the room. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Magdalanerhof. The restaurant quality and service are particularly worthy of note, together with the quality of the facilities, even down to perfectly maintained lawns that were soft underfoot. We stopped for three nights on a touring holiday and would definitely stay again. It is close to a church where the bells begin chiming before 0700 each day - but it is the catholic tyrol so not completely unexpected.

Excellent facilities and good breakfast. Restaurant menu is dominated by pizza, and other choices are limited. There are service issues. First night, from sitting down to first food took over an hour. The gardener joined guests in the pool, and drank in the bar most nights. On departure, our money was taken and we were sent on our way with barely a glance - no prizes for meet and greet.

This was a beautiful bed and breakfast -- I was not expecting the high quality of the attached restaurant! We were backpacking in the area and thought we'd spend a nice night at a B&B -- we found Magdalenerhof as a good rest from hostels. However, walking through their beautiful restaurant to get to our room in our bedraggled, rain-soaked state was awkward. On the other hand, when we wanted to stay in that night, their restaurant was exceptional, if expensive.

Bus stop nearby. Supermarket close by. Easy to walk into Bolzano (10 minutes) Reception staff very helpful. Restaurant staff very professional and high level of service provided. Room was excellent. People at hotel and in Bolzano very helpful, friendly and polite. No tea/coffee-making facilities in the room (normal for most of Europe) Could hear heavy snoring from person in next room.

Excellent service, good food and great location. Staff go out of their way to help. Air conditioning fans outside window are noisy if you want fresh air. Very convenient for the autostrade.

We experienced it as a very nice hotel, with pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast was outstanding. The room was quit and comfortable and from the balcony we enjoyed a nice view on the garden and vineyards behind the hotel. The restaurant served very good dishes reasonable priced. The owner a very pleasant person to talk with runs the kitchen. This is definitely a hotel to return to.

Though it is a bit difficult to locate, this hotel is a wonderful hideaway. Beautiful vistas, pleasant staff, comfortable room and excellent restaurant. On site parking is a bonus. Give the local wine -- St. Magdalener -- a try!

This was a lovely hotel but unfortunately a bit too far to walk to the town centre. The breakfast was magnificent as was the hotel restaurant although a bit pricey. I would return to this hotel even if it was just to eat in the restaurant again. Bolzano itself was quite an experience with Italians talking German and eating German sausage and drinking beer.

This hotel has a lot of charm and neat Tyrolean architecture. The rooms were clean, quiet, and spacious, and the restaurant was packed at night w/ locals and guests alike enjoying the great food. The breakfast fare was far superior to any of our many other stops on the trip. This was definitely a great stop.

This hotel was on our way to Toscany and we stayed there for just one night. Very nice hotel with a wonderfull garden and pool area. It was a pity that the restaurant was closed that day and that they did not provide internet access (just modem access).

The hotel was excellent and the hotel restaurant was excellent as well. In addition, the complimentary buffet breakfast was incredibly good! One thing that was a pity is that we could not have a room with a bathtub although we requested it.

Website says 1KM from train station, but is actually closer to 2KM (uphill). Lovely location once you get there...also have an on-site restaurant, which was so busy one night that we had some of their good pizza delivered to our room instead of having it in the dining room.

Very nice hotel. The mountain views from the dining room at breakfast are tremendous, there is undercover parking at the back of the hotel, and it is a reasonable walk past a mixture of apartment blocks, a few shops and vineyards into Bolzano. The person at reception was very helpful with recommendations for hikes to do and places to visit in the town.
