Convenient location, a few minutes walk from the railway station. Staff competent but not welcoming or helpful. When I asked the reception clerk if she could recommend a restaurant serving typical local food, she just sent me to the street where all the touristy restaurants are. On my own I discovered Trattoria Romano on Via Pietramellara, just around the corner from the hotel, serving great local food. Hotel breakfast buffet is good, but unsmiling wait-staff did not meet my eye or say "Buon giorno", and the espresso was self-service with cold cups. My room was spacious, but the bathroom floor had cracked tiles with discolored grouting, and watery noises emanating from the ceiling kept me awake at night. Walking alone to and from the hotel at night was a bit scary, due to a couple of unlit small parks on the hotel's side of the street, but it was possible to walk on the other side to avoid them.

Except for the female staff at the front desk, I found the staff very arrogant and unwilling to provide any reasonable service/assistance.

The hotel is located just a couply blocks from the train station. We got a nice quiet room at 83 euros. Breakfast is fantastic. Easy walk to city center. Some great restaurants nearby. A supermarket (PAM) is about 10 walk away, if you like to picnic. The front desk was quite helpful, a surprise since this a a convention/group hotel.

The staff was not particularly friendly upon arrival. The room was large, as was the bathroom. This was the loudest hotel room I have been in. We could hear our neighbors talking at a normal volume. There was noise throughout the night. The breakfast was good. A lot to choose from. We asked for some help with reservations and directions from the desk. They were helpful, but, we got walking directions to a restaurant we wanted to try for lunch, the clerk did not mention that most places close between 2:30 and 7, and we were heading out after 2:30. We walked 45 minutes to get to a closed restaurant. She should have told us that was typical in Bologna.

We really liked this hotel, after one night in a not-so-good and much more pricey hotel in the middle of the center. This hotel is near the railway station, and the area around the hotel is little "dead" but it is an easy walk to the city center.

We arrived at this hotel in the late evening and the area seemed a little scary. It is not in the city centre, but the walk to the town centre is approx 10 minutes. The rooms were okay, but our bathroom smelled funny. The staff was very accomodating, they cleaned the bathroom and held our luggage after check-out. Parking was available near the hotel.

The room was small but clean and the location was very good. Easy walking distance from the train station and a bit longer walk (but without baggage) to the sights and shopping. The breakfast was excellent. One of the best breakfast buffets we've seen.

A business hotel near the train station and about a 15 minute walk to the historic center. Rooms decent. But the people behind the desk were mean and unhelpful. For the most part, you can get better advice by stopping people on the street.

Very nicely appointed hotel, near the train station. Beautiful public areas, very good breakfast. Staff a bit stiff but polite and proper. Nice room. Only hotel where we know they replace the bed spreads, we saw clean ones wrapped in plastic on the maids carts.

We visited in March and the Hotel was great value. The rooms were very clean although we could hear a noisy couple next door arguing during the ads but they did quieten down around 11pm so we didn't need to contact reception. Breakfast was a full buffet and was clean and had a good choice. Hotel is about 10 min walk to the main street and is very comfortable as it is in a quiet area. Underground car parking was advertised for €15 per day but actual price was €18 for overground car parking but this was the only complaint. Would definitely return!

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station as well as its amenities. It is a lovely hotel. Its location near the train station puts it a bit off the beaten path, but everything is within walking distance. The rooms and common areas are clean and very well-kept. The breakfast is wonderful!!!

Excellent hotel, obviously meant for business travelers but with Venere summer prices an outstanding price-quality relationship. Room was clean and very spacious. Excellent a/c. Mini-bar fridge in room. Receptionist was extremely helpful in helping us get a doctor for a medical emergency. Copious and varied breakfast buffet (with machine-dispensed coffee and some rather odd scrambled eggs the only off notes). Conveniently located a block and a half from the train station; street quiet but without charm. Central Bologna--a short bus ride (or probably about a 20-min walk)--was a delightful discovery.

Spent 2 nights on the 1st floor. You need to pay Euro17/day to connect internet (Swisscom). My room has windows only near the ceiling on the wall, and could not see outside. The problem in this hotel seems the noise. You can hear the voice of the next door (do not understand what they say, but ...) and also the noise from the convention room on the ground floor until 23:00. The location is OK, 5 minutes from the station. Breakfast was OK, hot scranbled egg and bacon were available. I can stay there again if the rate is better than others, but not on the 1st floor.

I stayed in a double room for single use. The room was really nice and spacious. For the price it is an excellent hotel. Breakfast is very rich and nice. The booking from Vener seemd not go through the system so it took 1 hour to check in. But this is usual in Italy. I would stay this hotel again. Ca. 10 minutes walk from center but with car good to park.

The hotel was immaculate. The rooms had slippers and bathrobes. The breakfast was more than we had ever expected. It included many, many more items than the normal Italian coffee and pastry breakfasts offered in so many other hotels. The only drawback was the location, which was west of the train station and a 15-20 minute walk from the main center of the city. We were hesitant to walk at night but were in a group and did just fine.

Our family of four flew from Dublin to Venice and then caught the last train to Bologna so we made it rather late (about 2230). The hotel is just far enough from the train station to be quiet. We just walked our wheelie luggage over and checked in. No problem. The rooms were very comfortable with AC and various amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is an easy walk to the town center with lots of shopping along the way. All and all, a good experience.

The hotel was a nice surprise. The lobby was well lit and classically furnished. The desk clerk was very helpful in offering a suggestion to a nearby restaurant that was extremely tasty. The room was spacious. However, the shower was quite small. The room was clean and very pleasant. Breakfast offered a wide selection of breads, fruit, cereals, meats and cheese. The best part was the cappuccino that was made to order. The surrounding area was okay. It doesn't seem like a good area to hang around in late at night, but we were okay walking back to the hotel at 3a from the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Greatly recommend this hotel to anybody who plans to stop over in Bologna. Definitely will be back if I return. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

The hotel had overbooked and did not have a room available when we arrived. They booked us a room in another hotel in their chain and arranged for a taxi to that other hotel. But the other hotel was terrible, a few steps down in quality from the Europa. It took us another two hours to find a reasonable hotel, as it was our first time to Bologna. I advise double checking directly with the hotel that they are intending to honor a reservation. Or stay someone else that has a better system for keeping track of its reservations.
