Savhotel - Bologna

A little away from centre as hotel description says. Very accessible by bus. We likke walking so was an easy 20 walk to train and then another 10 minutes to centre but on beautiful portico lined streets wIth many shops ;) If you a light sleeper the wood flOors will cause u to hear neighbouring guests Breakfust is amazing !!

Great hotel to stay in Bologna. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is the better I had in Italy, diverse and abundant. Hotel is located near FS Station for those without car. Staff is very helpful and attentive. I recommend it 100%.

Breakfast very simply

The breakfast was very good, wireless internet access from the room was good (and free), there is also a fitness room which nobody seemed to use (except us). We enjoyed our stay there. The only problem is that the bathroom has a glas door and there is 1 cm space between the door and the wall. Thus the bathroom is not steam-proof, the steam can get from the bathroom into the room.

We really liked this hotel and wish they had more in Italy. It is truly a first rate hotel. Everyone was very courteous and knowledgeable in English. The parking and Internet were easy to use and convenient. The restaurant had excellent selections and the breakfast was the best we have ever had in Italy. Initially we found it difficult to find the hotel because of construction on Via Stalingrad. However, it was very close to where we parked the car.

Savhotel is a typical business hotel of the new Italian breed: sophisticated, designed to the last detail and fully serviced. The customer care is orders of magnitude above the Italian standard and provided it's booked outside busy business periods (as I did), a great bang for the buck. It's a bit far from the city centre, but on the other hand close to the fiera and, most important of all, close to the tangenziale. This is a great bonus if you, like I did, intend to visit two of Bologna's main attractions: Ducati and Ferrari factories/museums, which are located on the outskirts. For the two days that I spent in Bologna and considering I had (incidentally) a Ducati motorbike to move around, I couldn't ask for a better hotel than the Sav.

- location easy to find - excellent breakfast with very nice and competent personel - free garage parking - rooms (with wodden floor) rather loud - or my neighbors simply wore the wrong shoes - small shopping center with supermarket nearby - 30 minutes OK-walk into the center

Nice hotel with excelent personel. We had a problem with a safe deposit box and the airconditioning in our room, but the staff relocated us to another room as soon as we told about it. The personel at Savhotel offers a great service. We will certaintly come back some day....

One of the best hotels I ve ever stayed in Italy.The only problem is ;in the rooms that numbers ends with 09 (like 209 ) toilets are next to the bed and the door mas made by glass.If yu are not alone that can be a problem to use it.

This is the second time I have used this hotel and would highly recommend it, it is about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Bologna or 7 minute bus ride,5 minutes by taxi. Will be returning

Clean and stylish hotel. Very comfortable. Not very well connected to public transport. Surroundings are not very attractive, a bit dull. Breakfast provided is excellent, un-Italian quality.

Bologna war nicht mein Reiseziel, nur ein Ort auf halber Strecke, an dem ich Pause machen wollte. Ich kam spät an, hatte geplant einige Stunden zu schlafen, dann weiter zu fahren. Die Via F. Parri kannte mein Navigationssystem noch nicht. Das Hotel befindet sich in einem Neubaugebiet, am Stadtrand, zwei Autominuten von der Autobahn entfernt. Das Hotelviertel ist modern, langweilig und menschenleer. Die Hotelgarage mit einem XC90 (SUV) leicht zu beparken. Zu meiner Überraschung standen dort teure Sportwagen mit Kennzeichen aus Deutschland, Frankreich und England. Die Hotel-Lobby war angenehm kühl, die Rezeptionisten ebenfalls kühl, gut trainiert bis freundlich, das Zimmer war winzig, klimatisiert und sehr sauber; großer Pluspunkt - es gibt keinen Teppichboden, und ... die Fenster können geöffnet werden. Das Konzeptdesign fand ich witzig, funktional und leicht zu bedienen. Die Matraze von mittlerem bis hartem Härtegrad, die Kissen weich, Minibar gut bestückt, Safe ohne Aufpreis. Bin dann doch noch bis zum Frühstück geblieben, weil ich im Savhotel erstaunlich gut geschlafen habe. Das Frühstück war üppig und ist ideal für Leute, die außer Frühstück den ganzen Tag nichts mehr essen. Es gab Früchte, Joguhrt, Müsli, Omlette, Käseplatte, verschiedene Kuchen ... ach, was weiß denn ich; habe mich an den Kaffee gehalten und der war genau mein Ding. Als ich den Frühstücksraum, wo ich die erste war, verlassen habe, kamen andere Hotelgäste. Alle so schätzungsweise im Alter zwischen 25 und 40 Jahren, manche mit Kleinkindern. Ich habe mich gefragt, was solche Leute, an einem solchen Ort, wo sich Fuchs und Hase "Gute Nacht" sagen, wohl machen. Für Durchreisende wie mich, war es allerdings ein Highway-Paradis. Kurz habe ich im Gästebuch geblättert, da standen so Sätze wie "best hotel ever!". Naja, das ist hohes Lob und ich bin nicht auf der Welt, um zu loben. In Relation zum Geldaufwand, muss ich aber zustimmen, war das Savhotel überirdisch gut.

Great difficult for finding a free parking place, hotel offer parking for 22 euro per day. It's a robber!

Problem with not operating TV at arrival and before day of departure again.Problem solved in +/-2 hours on the second times

It's not a really nice area to stay, but it is very convenient, coming from the motorway. We walked into the city center, which is about half an hour walk.The price was really good for the service in the hotel. It was a special offer. In the nearby surroundings there is not a very special restaurant. The knowledge of english of the receptionist was sufficient.

The hotel was quite nice (all ikea furniture) but all the receptionists were terrible. We asked urgently for a taxi and they called it twenty minutes after our request; then we lost a cellphone in it and they called the taxi company only two days later just because we told them that we'll be standing with them until they had done it. I have no complains about the room, that was always very clean.

We had a really pleasant stay at the sav hotel. the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and filippo's cooking is divine :) just 2 minutes by taxi away from the centre and about 5mins from the airport...if we ever go back to bologna this is where we'll stay

This was a real surprise and a wonderful find-- an elegant, very modern hotel. It's a bit outside the heart of Bologna, but it has free parking and you can take a bus downtown (or walk). Big, hearty breakfast and a free coffee bar during the day. Very accommodating staff.

Rather a disappointment. As indicated in other reviews, the hotel is located in a construction zone of ugly, new apartment blocks. If on foot, you'll need to traverse a sketchy commercial/residential zone to reach the downtown. It's a long walk and will take you across the train station area, which is a bit threatening after dark. Common areas (stairs, hallways) are much more worn than one would expect in so new a hotel. Rooms are clean and have SAT TV and good bathrooms, but are other wise unremarkable -- also a bit worn relative to their age. Internet service was completely unavailable over 2 days. Hotel management refused to credit me for my 3rd day in spite of the fact that I had a business emergency and the hotel was less than full. Breakfast was good and plentiful and served in a clean and attractive setting. I consider Savhotel a poor value based on the extremely poor location, disappointing facilities and unaccommodating management. I would not stay there again given the many better options in Bologna and around Bologna.

We spent one night at Savhotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly, dinner was delicious and the lounge was very comfortable with some interesting books on bologna or current events like exhibitions, etc. to read. The hotel is a bit away from the city center, but the center can be easily reached by foot in about 15 minutes (provided that you don't get lost, which can actually happen - so you might ask the friendly staff for the way first ;)) All in all, we can definitely recommend staying at Savhotel!

In general, this hotel is becoming better than the previous stays... The only unpleasant thing is the loud beep sound which came from the lift while passing through each floor.

Ultramodern hotel with a compact but very comfortable room, contemporary furnishings and luxury bath. Savhotel is a great value in price, quality, services and amenities. It offers a quiet location near a conference center area outside Bologna's historic area. Taxi service is readily available, with fares ranging 7-10 euros to the city's center depending on afternoon or evening rates. Staff were very helpful and proud of their facilities and services. Highly recommend to others who want to avoid Bologna's historic district which is busy, noisy, and difficult to drive and park within.

We stayed here for one night after arriving from a very long flight before officially beginning vacation.Nice clean, modern, quiet room, professional multilingual staff, great breakfast selection.About 10euros by taxi from both airport and train station. Well suited for business travellers or stop overs.

Excllent hotel, but quite far out of town. We usually like to walk, but took buses and taxis (E12) instead.

Apart the surroundings (the area where is the hotel seams to be under construction) all the service provided are very good and the relationship between price/quality excellent.

We had an excellent experience at this hotel. Perhaps it was due to the fact that we arrived during the off-season, but we felt the hotel to be very spacious and comfortable. There was a slight problem with the level of English speaking ability with some of the staff, but the truth is when going to Italy, travelers ought to learn a bit of Italian anyway, and we always managed to communicate in the end without much difficulty.

Great hotel. Very modern and stylish. Underground garage. It's in newly built quiet suburb, and if you travel with car it's close to highway, and not far from center. Only minor minus is inside sound insulation. If you have loud neighbour..., or if someone is walking in high heels on the floor above... Overall great value for money and I will always return in Savhotel when in Bologna.

Clean room, morden, free internet, friendly staff, good service

After staying several times, the quality & many services have been widely improved. If the ventilation in the lift could has fresh cool air would be much better.

The air condition was not cool, but warm and this with outside temperature of 37 C.

Amazing value for money, rooms are modern and spotless. Hotel appears very new. Good underground parking facilities. Only disadvantage is unattractive surroundings, out of city centre but only a 20 minute walk.

In general, SAVHOTEL visibly has a great improvement in various services from my last stay in Nov. 2006. Although this is not a huge and famous property, but it is really worthwhile for a comfort stay during the tiring business trip in Bologna. SAVHOTEL is more suitable for business clientele and people appreciate modernize living.

This is an ultra modern hotel that i would recommend to all that love a great looking hotel with an outstanding price. The front desk is very helpful and kind. Absolutely a great place to see.

Great hotel. Brand new. Stilish and minimalist furniture. Location is quite good. Less than 5 minutes by taxi from the train station and very close to the Fair Grounds. Also short cab ride to the centre. Not much in the area, but there is a shopping centre very close to the hotel (2 minutes walking) and if you do not want to go to the centre you can still find some restaurants in the area. I will definitely go back whenever I will be in Bologna again.

We travel a lot, but SavHotel was really a surprise for us. New, innovative, well-equipped and completed by excellent staff, this hotel accommodated us in mid-January 2007 for two nights. We traveled with 2-years daughter, so, on our request new child bed was presented for free. WI-FI internet, CISA-cards access system and new furniture in rooms, new elevators and designers furniture in the lobby were additional “gifts” to the excellent price fo 4**** hotel – 58 euro per double room per night (with better than average breakfast restaurant). May be one minor disadvantage is the window view, but closeness both to airport, city center and autostrada are priceless for people traveling be rented car, as we usually do. If I still didn’t convince you, just remember about free café bar, opened during a day, where you can drink different types of Italian coffee, mineral water and juice (which is very convenient to take outside during a car trip). New, clean and modern. No more you can expect at this price. Staff members were basically friendly and kind, but they shouldn't have given up explaining how to get to the place and say "take a taxi" when I called and asked for the direction.

This was my first visit to this Hotel in Bologna, the hotel is brand new, rooms are spacious and modern, the disappointing aspect of the hotel is the breakfast in my point of view poor.

The beds at this hotel are ridiculously hard for a 4 star hotel. These were the worst beds we had in Italy and much harder than even the 2 star hotels we stayed at. The hotel is quite nice, otherwise, however the location is not very good. The hotel surroundings are a bit grim and the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy. Also, this hotel is about 2 miles from the town center.

Can-t fault this hotel. Outstanding value for money.Excellent touches throughout. Wonderful staff.Our hotel to visit Bologna nobody else comes close.

Very good value for money!!

It was a surprising good hotel with very reasonable prices. Although it was a bit far from the centre, I found it very convenient for the purpose for which I went to Bologna, ie. to attend the COMPA exhibition, which was at a walking distance from the hotel. I believe at Savhotel you get value for money which I think is the best comment that can be made.

I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of this hotel.The room was very spacious as well as the bathroom.I used the exercise room which is equipped with weights,treadmill and bicycle. The rooftop view however is not much to rave about. The surrounding area is under construction but don`t let that stop you from staying at this hotel. The best part was the huge buffet breakfast and delicious food at dinnertime,. can`t wait to go back to Bologna to stay at this hotel!!!

This is a great hotel to stay in, although the surrounding area was not ideal (in the middle of a building site!). Also, as this hotel is in a relatively new part of town, it doesn't feature on any tourist maps! Slightly problamatic when you're unsure of the area and are trying to get around! Also, a bit far from the centre of town (about a 20-25min walk) so not great if you want to be in the middle of everything Other than that, the hotel itself was lovely - very modern rooms, clean and in a quiet part of town. Very reasonably priced too considering that breakfast was also included (which had a great selection for the price that we paid) Probably more suited to business travellers rather than tourists wanting to be near the tourist attractions.

Bell'hotel e a buon prezzo, dintorni un po' degradati ma in ottima posizione per la Fiera e per raggiungere a piedi il centro città. Sul sito dicono di mettere a disposizione sigari gratis nella sala fumatori ma non è più così. Nel complesso lo consiglio senz'altro.

We stayed at Savhotel for one night on October 13, 2006. The location is far from the historical center, but the price of 68 Euros was excellent. Everything in the room was very new and clean. The bed was very comfortable (I have a sensitive back, so this was especially a big plus, after some very uncomfortable beds at previous hotels). The breakfast was marvelous. The only minus is the fact that the hotel is not in the center and that there does not seem to be a bus that stops near the hotel. The receptionist told us to take bus 25 from train station to Piazza d’Unita, but even from there it was 6 blocks or so. Other than that, the hotel was exactly as expected - the hotel website and Venere descriptions are correct.

It's a bit far away from the city center (20 min by walking) and the surroundings are not really attracting (the area is building). However, it's not far away from the station (10 min by walking) and the hotel offers all the facilities you would need. The staff is really professional and the hotel itself is really convenient and comfortable. For this price, it's even unbelievable.

Have to visite it again ...

Very good hotel, we enjoyed a lot when we stay in Bolognia, the location on the map on venere web is not right for it's location. Room is clean, good bath room, well orgnized breakfast.

The Hotel was very beautiful,minimal and smart and the rooms were clean. Only the hotel surroundings weren't very good but that wasn't a problem for us. Excellent the relationship between price and quality. Obviously I'll return to this property.

First visit to Bologna. Maybe not the best location but the hotel is beyond comparison. The minute we entered the room we were both taking photographs because we could not believe the perfection and luxury. Most amazing rooms and beds. Would recommend to anyone. Breakfast was also fantastic.

We were very fortunate to discover this bargain on Venere. We paid an average of Euro$58 per night although we realise it was worth much more. Definitely a 4 to 5 star quality hotel. Our room was very modern as was the rest of the Hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel even at a much higher rate. Although this hotel is just out of the town centre we walked to and from Bologna city centre no problem - about a 20 minute walk each way.

Wery clean and quite. There's a gym, a nice roof and a internet point. Fantastic breackfast... but the hotel surroundings are very bad, under construction. Maybe we have found a special price (44Eur).

This is a brand-new and very nice and elegant hotel. I really enjoyed my staying and I was very satisfied with my room. Rooms are very clean and with modern furniture. Breakfast is excellent.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon during our stay at the Savhotel in Bologna. The hotel was relatively new, so they had a promotional rate for the hotel. The service was exceptional, facilities were great, and the hotel was run very well. We would not have any reservations about staying there again.

The hotel is nice and quiet. although is located in a new area of the city,with some buildings in construction just few steps away there's a mall and in five minutes walk you can reach the bus stop 27 that in ten minutes brings you at the very center of the city. i'd recommend it to anyone. when the fair is not open the prices are amazing!

Hotel bellissimo, nuovissimo, arredamento moderno. Eccellente esperienza. Solo un piccolo neo: ho prenotato ancora l'hotel per ulteriori soggiorni e ho pagato 49 Euro prenotando dal sito dell'hotel, su Venere era quotato 68.

Excellent hotel but the location was hard to find, the street wasn't on the map. If we return to Bologna sometime soon we will stay at Savhotel. The best hotel we´ve ever stayed on, though the view from our room only showed a construction site. Very price-worthy.

Very nice hotel - comparable to the AC hotel next door, but cheaper (for the moment). There is construction next door (which explains the price), but unless you plan to spend the day in the hotel, it is a non-issue. Highly recommend (especially at the current price).
