Great welcome, very friendly and helpful staff!

This is a quaint hotel in a great location. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a small room on the 3rd floor. The room was small but ok for the 2 nights we were there. The bathroom was very small and the shower could barely accommodate an average male (6' 80kg). Our room and bathroom each had a skylight (no windows) which let in a lot of natural light however we were unable to open them to let in some air. This wasnt a major concern as we were not in the room for long as we spent most of our time walking around the city centre of Bologna. The room we stayed in is not pictured therefore I am unable to comment on other rooms in the hotel that are pictured on the web.The breakfast was substantial with cereals, breads, juices, coffees, teas - enough food to set you up for the day. We would definitely stay there again as it is in a great location and the staff give excellent personalised service.

Big and modern appartments, high speed internet. Too big for the couple. Very comfortable only for long stay. 20 euro charge for using kitchen so even for cup of tea you would pay 20 euro. For our opinion for low season this appartment is overpriced.

The Paradise Hotel enjoys easy access to the central city and two excellent trattoria are just around the corner. Hotel staff were cheerful, and helpful. Reception staff were English-speaking when necessary. The one problem was the noise of bar patrons in the street below our bedroom until the early hours. I cannot answer your survey question, "Does the hotel web page correctly describe the property?"in that I had no way or wish to verify the number of available rooms. What the web site said was in the room was correct.

Wonderful big apartment with design furniture and kitchen. Very clean, perfect shower, very nice and cordial staff at the reception. The only thing I would recommend for the future: please offer fresh bread and panini! We will definitely come back! :-)

Very welcoming and competent staff. Just off the main street where the exclusive hotels are situated. Close to Piazza Maggiore. If a small and "personal" hotel is what you are looking for: This is the hotel. Our room was on top floor and very quiet. And there are nice trattorias just a few steps from the hotel (example:Mariposa)

The staff created a calm and welcoming atmosphere and each desk clerk was kind, helpful, and attentive. It was the first stay in Bologna for my wife and me and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Bonus is that it is right across the street from an excellent trattoria named Mariposa. A perfect place in our opinion.

Reception staff was very helpful. The location was good for exploring the historic centre of Bologna. They provided some tourism information in the room which was helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with amusingly dated decor. I've never seen a bedazzled bathroom before. One of several quaintly naff touches. I'd stay there again or recommend it to a friend. They gave me a double room for the price of a single. It has an elevator which is great with a heavy bag to carry.

Great staff, great location, definately return... Only small issue was the bathroom was not the biggest but this was not a major problem...

Excellent value for money hotel with very welcoming staff. Just a short walk from the train station as well.

Wonderfully friendly staff. On a small street very convenient to the old part of the city. Some rooms in separate buildings may not have elevators and the keys can be a bit confusing. But we would be happy to stay there again.

4 nights October 2011, tourism, UK mature couple. Rate this independent hotel very highly, note that the two enthusiastic lady owners are present on reception most of the time, spoke fluent English, were a willing help in all matters. All other staff very good humoured, friendly, willing. Buffet breakfast very good indeed. Conveniently central to town (5 mins, 10-12 mins walk from central station and airport bus, v close to excellent restaurants. Occasional reviewers worrying that its in a side street we thought odd. Perfectly OK, 100yds off Via Independenzia!

We had a most lovely room on the top floor. The room, hotel and staff were excellent. We intend to stay again when we next return to Bologna.

Staff at our check-in went out of her way to be helpful. Room was on the small side, but typical for european hotels. Our room was next to the elevator which was a bit noisy. Overall, a great centrally located hotel. We would stay again.

A very good hotel within 5 minutes of the old centre and 10 minutes walking from the railway station. The staff were all helpful and spoke good English.Once Bologna's sights and museums are done, it is a very good base to visit other towns and cities with excellent transport links.

Very help staff. In a quite area but the streets are so small that do not try to drive a car there. Street signage is not good and does not cater for international tourists. Hotel was good. Except for very very small shower.

Hotel centrally located mid of main shopping area, half way to train station and central square, there are lots of restaurants around and anything you need. Everything is within walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff in a nice and clean environment. Definitely i will be staying again.

Excellent, small hotel in a good location in Bologna (5 mins walk north of main square). Very welcoming and helpful staff. Outstanding price-value relation. I am in Bologna each year for a work-related visit and always stay in one of the large apartments that belong to Hotel Paradise.

It is a hotel in the center of Bologna and it´s not far from the railway station and there are many restaurants close to the hotel

The back alley where the hotel was located appeared a bit unsavory but it was in fact safe, after we went down it. The hotel was excellent. Our room was in a different building across the street (which was a little worrisome at first ) but it turned out to be very good.

Good location, rooms were very clean, stuff is friendly and competent. We stayed int the two room apartment with two kids and the only negative - out bed was a pull out couch and it very uncomfortable, kids beds were fine.

Wow! The staff is wonderful, helpful and welcoming. There is so much attention to detail with the decor that you feel like you're staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel. They went WAY above and beyond to help us with some probably unusual requests. We will definitely go back.

We had a great time! The price for our suite was extremely reasonable and the location was perfect. All of the staff was lovely, and the complimentary breakfast was generous. We also had air conditioning and Wifi that worked well. We also loved Bologna and hope to be able to return to Paradise.

This small hotel was absolutely wonderful as was the staff. They couldn't be more kind and helpful. The room was great, clean and quiet. Since the hotel is just off the main road, it wasn't crazy with noise but walking distance to everything. The staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I booked and stayed in a small but neat, clean, modern room with everything you need and want. The service was wonderful. The people were kind with a desire to please. Breakfast was very good. The staff was knowledgeable and went out of their way to make things pleasant. On my return to the USA - I left my journal behind. My wife picked me up at JFK Airport and informed my that the staff at Paradise had called and are sending the journal to our address. How sweet is that? Excellent value - super service with a smile.

This is my 5th stay at Paradise. This time I was traveling by myself and stayed in a small apartment. As always my stay was very comfortable and the breakfast was even beter than in previous visits. Loevly coffee.

Totally non-descript on the outside but great attention to detail and style on the inside. For the price we paid (55 euro) it was a little gem, in a lovely city. Also worth mentioning that the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Choose the hotel because of the good reviews, and traveling with 2 children, I was not disappointed. Staff very helpful, nice breakfast every morning, little riddles and says spread all over the gathering areas (which my children loved). The hotel is very centrally located, you could walk anywhere and the facilities all well kept. Will definitely recommend it and would return there, if visiting Bologna again.

This hotel certainly lives up to all the excellent reviews. It is in great area with excellent bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Airport bus around the corner and very central. I had a lovely double room for sole occupancy. It was warm, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good and all the staff were smiling, helpful and very efficient. Can't wait to go back!

We loved this hotel. Our only reservation was the city noise, which is inevitable in any city. If it is too noisy, though, the lovely proprietors will change your room. Everything else about the hotel was 1st class and the location could not be beat. I would recommend Pradise, and will return when I return to Bolognga

Excellent hotel, staff are very friendly, welcoming, and very helpful with travel advice, booking restaurants etc. Hotel is within walking distance of train and bus stations and historic centre and there are plenty of good eating places in the vicinity. Breakfast was the usual juices, cereals, pastries, fruit and choice of coffees and teas. There is a small bar and lounge area with a good supply of books about Bologna and surrounding area. The airport bus stop Arena del Sole is very close to the hotel. We travelled by train to Ravenna, Modena and Ferrara. The mosaics at Ravenna are very impressive and well worth seeing. Ferrara is a lovely city with plenty to see. Modena is only a short train journey from Bologna but was not as impressive as Ferrara or Ravenna.

Hotel is very central, near to anything you may likely need to reach while in Bologna. Staff very friendly. Room was very clean, with small distinctive touches (surprise!). Breakfast quality was very good, with ample choice from the buffet. More on the sweet side, which is the one I like. They can lend you a laptop to be used in the lobby (only!) if you need one, very convenient. There really is free wifi in the hotel. Bathroom was very clean and with everything you need.

This is not just another hotel, we were really amazed by its atmosphere created by plenty of minor details all around the place. The staff was excellent and the location is also perferct - very close to major sightseeing attractions and in quite area off the main street. We would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Bologna for leisure.

We found the hotel easily based on their directions and were delighted to be offered an upgrade. The staff were very welcoming and even though we can speak enough Italian it was helpful to know that they spoke excellent English. My wife's broken toe got the better of her on the second day. The cleaning staff were understanding and left us alone until we were ready for them to clean the room! We'd go back like a shot and have more drinks at the lovely bar opposite rather than the dearer ones in/off the main streets. Highly recommended.

Very helpful staff catered to our needs and got us nearby parking for cheap! Our first "studio" was not to our liking and the desk were able to move us to a beautiful upstairs studio, even though the hotel was fully booked. Ask for the second floor studio across the street from front entrance, it is like living in a funky apt in Bologna. Location is great on quiet street a few min walk from main Piazza. Nice breakfast.

We were very pleased with our stay at Paradise hotel! It was one of our most enjoyable stays in all of Europe. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Our receptionist went above and beyond to help us with everything from parking, to breakfast, to restaurant recommendations. we will definitley be staying here next time we visit Bologna!

This hotel had a great staff - very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was very good. There were extra amenities like a makeup mirror in the bathroom & a full length mirror in the room. There was a computer available for guests. It is a good central location.

This was one of the best stays we have had in our years in Italy. The rooms were clean and the people exceptional. This would be my first choice in Bologna.

Room was small but well equiped and comfortable. Hotel was easy to find walking from train station using instructions provided. Breakfast was very good.

Bed was a bit uncomforrable and room would have seemed small if I was there a lot but it was perfect for what I needed and the staff are exceptional.

We loved this cute place! Our room was small, but compact and it worked great for us. Great location, excellent generous breakfast, nice people behind the desk, helpful and friendly. People friendly at breakfast, all ages and types were there. They let us store our luggage at no charge for 3 hours after we checked out but before our train was leaving.

Excellent location with very helpful staff, who were always happy to help (even calling Hertz Car Rental when we had problems!). This was the thrid hotel we stayed in in Tuscany and the breakfast had the most choice and best coffee. We look forward to coming back and would recommend it to all looking for a clean, comfy and central base in this Fab city !

We stayed in a double room for one night. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely, with a wide range of options. The room was not large, but was clean and had nice touches in the bathroom. We had some difficulty finding the street, but people in the area were very helpful in this regard.

We stayed in Bologna for 3 days/2 nights, and were very impressed by the hotel&hotel staff, they were very helpful when we asked for hot water to prepare tea because one of our friends got fever: they prepared tea themselves and offered a wide range of teas to choose from and honey... when we missed our bus, they called a taxi for a very reasonable price. Staff speak fluent English&French, are friendly and very helpful. Rooms were very clean, minibar very full:) Definitely one of the best hotels we´ve ever been to.

Paradise hotel is right in the centre of Bologna, yet the surroundings are really quiet. Employees are cooperative and kind. You have free wi-fi internet access. Only "not-perfect" thing is the breakfast, quite ordinary, but, given the price of he hotel, the quality/price ratio is sky high!

Every aspect of our stay was brilliant. Close to everything. Room was lovely, well equipped, comfortable and stylish. Staff were friendly and helpful. lots of lovely little extra touches. The only thing was the aircon unit was not quite powerful enough for the size of apartment and it was very hot! it did not spoil our stay tho we just took it turns to sit in front of it!

We reserved an apartment which was extremely comfortable and spacious. It was recently decorated and very homely. The hotel was centrally located within easy access of the main shopping area, excellent restaurants and a convenient walk to the railway station. The staff were very welcoming and could not have been more helpful. We will stay at this hotel again.

I got a large suite in a neighboring property for a very modest price. The small price difference to a standard room is very much worth it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is an a quiet area, but only a few minutes walking distance to the centre.

The people at the hotel could not have been more friendly. It's easy to get to but a bit tricky. The Airport Bus (5 euro) will let you off at the Arena del Sole stop on Via Indipendenza. Ask in advance. The narrow street immediately behind the stop is Via Bertiera. (It's directly across Indipendenza from the Hotel Metropolitan.) Go up Bertiera. It's a bit more than 100 paces to the hotel. The sites, restaurants and shops of most interest are within easy walking distance. It's a modest hotel in terms of physical space, and you can expect to hear a certain amount of urban noise at night. But we walked a lot and fell easily asleep. The best gelato is at La Sorbertteria on Via Castaglione, 25-30 minutes by foot from the hotel. Well worth the walk. We convinced ourselves that we were burning off our dinner as well as the gelato. The staff can point you to many good restaurants a short distance from the hotel. We'll stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to Bologna.

A bit hard to find, but easy walking distance to every place we wanted to see. Quiet except for morning garbage collection. Nice bathroom, but push-type soap dispenser--on the other hand, the only Italian hotel we stayed at that had a razor and toothbrushes in the room. Very helpful staff. Good restaurant recommendations. Helped with train scheduals. Computer use easy and free. Even had loaner umbrellas. Good breakfast--gave us free second coffee.

Hotel Paradise is a little tricky to get to, but once you are there you will find a very friendly, helpful staff, clean spacious rooms, free internet and breakfast is included. We had asked to stay close to friends and they made it happen. Our stay, though brief, was very comfortable. We would stay there again!

We had fond memories of Hotel Paradise from an earlier visit, and this time we stayed in the two-bedroom studio apartment. Good just got better! Do yourself a favour and try it.

We had the topfloor apartment for two adults and two children. Had to climb some stairs after the very small elevator. View on the two leaning towers. Apartment was nice, clean and spacious. Airco. Top roof which can be opened electronically gave view to the stars. The bed couch slept awfull, the two normal beds were fine. Bathroom was big, even toothbrushes and shaving gear was provided. Bologna is a very nice city, you can climb 498 steps of one of the leaning towers (EURO 3,-). Hotel is 100 meters from the main shopping street and a 5 min. walk to the historic center. Car could be parked next to the hotel (EURO 7,-per day). Personnel was very kind and helpfull. Breakfast was decent, but not a lot of choice.

Really nice hotel, right in the heart of old town. Very helpful personnel (the only thing: you have to prepare, that most of them (as most Italians) do not speak English). They helped me to find city center, gave a map, marked locations I was looking for, and explained how to get to airport with a bus.

We loved the hotel and we loved Bologna. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, everything worked. The only limitation was not being able to see out the window. The hotel is very central to the tourist sites and shopping and an easy walk from the station

A very welcoming hotel. Lots of personal touches. The room was a good size and the shower room was spotless. No bath but that didn't matter.

We got a flat in front of the hotel - superb facilities for a very romantic feature and only 75€/night. The only problem: finding out the hotel by car- as the center of Bologna is a labyrinth of small alleys and one-way streets reserved to bus (even the Carabinieri told us to break the rule and take a street reserved to bus- otherwise no way to go to the hotel) So take your time (and GPS!)to find it out. Special prize for hotel staff (Ombretta mainly) helping us to distress :-) grazie mille!

Very friendly staff, they recommended a typical restaurant for dinner. We had to leave very early in the morning 5:30 am and the guy at the reception made coffee for us and we had breakfast! The hotel is located near Via Independenza and not far from the 2 towers.

We couldn't believe that such a well-placed, central hotel could be so reasonably priced; but it was. For us it was beyond all expectations as the location was great, staff couldn't have been more pleasant and welcoming. Best of all, we were given our own apartment in a lovely old building. We loved it and had an excellent city break. Lots of lovely things to do, see and eat just minutes from the hotel. Brilliant.

Fui con mi hermana a pasar un fin de semana y nos sorprendió gratamente el hotel. Por lo que habíamos visto de precios pensábamos que iba a ser más "cutrecillo" puesto que era de los más baratos. Pero la verdad es que está bastante reformado, la habitación tenía de todo, el baño estaba nuevo y los empleados fueron encantadores. La ubicación es inmejorable. En fin, que nos encantó!!

Very well located close to the main commercial street, the historical centre and the university quarter. The Staff was extremely helpful and there is free wi-fil access. Overall a very pleasant stay.

About quietness of room: Construction work started next door (not within the hotel), and even if you wanted or not, you had to leave the room as soon as possible after 7 a.m. But on Saturday and Sunday, it was quiet. You cannot have better service anywhere. Paradise was a very pleasent hotel, and the service superb.

Hotel Paradiso has always been welcoming. Rooms are small but clean, bathrooms are clean. Free in-room Internet an added advantage.

In the center of Bologna. Clean, confortable, spacious rooms, and very friendly staff. Breakfast is not exeptional but better than the average you get in italian Hotels. If I have to go back to Bologna, I will book again in this hotel.

We loved this hotel. Best place we've stayed during our trip. Clean rooms, hot showers, very helpful front desk staff. They gave us a great local dinner recommendation when we arrived really late, and helped us with phone calls etc... the breakfast is great - including eggs, and made to order cappucinos and expressos. Location is great - walkable 10 mins from the train station and the property is very central for walking around the town. I would recommend this place - great value for the price. And free internet. The desk staff were truly helpful.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We visited the hotel prior to our stay and the staff showed us a typical room and was very welcoming. The hotel is off the main street but within walking distance of major sites. We left early for our flight and staff made sre that some breakfast items were available. Would stay here again.

Simple but great accomodation if you want to stay in the true center of the city. Very kind staff. Despite the modern style of the hotel, several small details make it really cozy. We appreciate the very clean rooms and restrooms, as well as the (not needed and not requested) change of towels and bedlined after one night for a two-nights stay. Possibly, foregner guests could find the location a bit noisy because of a nearby "osteria", but being Bologna THE university city, voices of students are part of local folklore. The hotel is located in the part of the city almost totally forbidden for cars, so traffic noise is not a concern. Highly reccomended

The hotel is located literally 30 meters from the airport shuttle bus and and only a 10 minute walk from the main city square. In other words, very convenient. And quiet. Friendly, helpful staff.

We could not have had a better stay. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The front desk staff, especially Monica, was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Situated in one of the best positions in Bologna, near Via dell'Indipendenza, but still quiet. Staff very welcoming, accommodating, they also knew the city well. I can recommend this hotel without reservations. Occupa una delle migliori posizioni a Bologna, vicino a Via dell'Indipendenza, ma anche tranquilla. Personale molto accogliente e disponibile, e sapeva bene la citta. Da consigliare senza esitazioni.

Great hotel, nice location.

It was a very clean, quiet and well appointed room. The hotel staff was very welcoming and the hotel was convenient to historic Bologna. The only drawbacks were that the location was on an unattractive side street and that the bath was extremely small.

This hotel was a fun place to stay! I enjoyed the daily inspirational messages. The hotel was within walking distance from all the major attractions. We walked from the train station. Although we had a bit of a hard time finding the main road, we eventually did find it and were able to easily walk to the hotel. Every meal we had in Bologna was sensational! It's good we were only there for a weekend, for my waistline's sake!

I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in a good location for a quick weekend in Bologna. The Paradise met all of our expectations. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They helped us find a restaurant on Feb. 14/Valentine's Day when we had no reservations and didn't plan ahead. Breakfast was the usual continental fare - plenty to start your day. The location was superb - about 10 minutes walk from the train station and less than that to Piazza Maggiore and the two towers. We stayed in the triple apartment with kitchenette. The room was good size. The shower was small but the rest of the bathroom was good size. We didn't cook in the apartment (it is Bologna, after all), this was the only triple they had open that weekend. My only complaint was the smell of cigarette smoke in the room. Obviously this was a smoking apartment - and I don't remember whether I specified a non-smoking room. So we left the window open to air out the room and it was fine. For the location, friendliness of the staff and good value, I'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Bologna.

A big bonus with this hotel is that they offer guests a free guided walk on Sunday mornings which is organised by the Tourist Office. Very enjoyable and informative even in the rain. I stayed for 2 nights in February and paid 59 Euros for the first night which was a Saturday and 49 for the second. The double room had an en suite bathroom and the price included a big buffet breakfast. I really loved this hotel and would have happily stayed longer. The staff made me very welcome and showed me two double rooms to choose from. It's a vibrant place and there were little touches in the room which showed great care and consideration for guests. The location is good as it's a short walk from the main attractions but tucked away in a side street. If you're coming from the train station it's worth stopping off at the tourist office there to get them to mark the hotel on a map.

Location very convenient for historic centre. Staff delightful. Apartment suited us very well, and was pretty well equipped. Only downside was one disturbed night on New Year's Day with noisy teenagers socialising on the staircase of the apartment block: otherwise a very peaceful spot.

My fourth time at the Paradiso in 2008 and I look forward to returning, especially given the courtesy of the front-desk staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the closeness to the BLQ airport bus stop, and now-free wireless Internet access.

Our first stay in Bologna and the Hotel Paradise was a real success! We are 2 couples and rented 2 small apartments. They were spacious, clean and just what we expected. The owners are terrific - cheerful, knowledgeable, and helpful. Their restuarant selections were really good. The breafasts were very good with a big selection and a pleasant breakfast room. This hotel is not fancy, but it gets and A+ 100% for it's proximity to the Piazza Maggiore, its cleanliness and its cheerful, helpful staff. We'll definitely stay there again.
