The hotel is not exactly in the center, but you can walk there in about 20-30 minutes, or take the bus. It's a very good deal pricewise. Unfortunately, while I was there there the internet wasn't working. I would definitely stay here again if I returned to Bologna.

Basic but comfortable, about 20 minutes walk from the city centre. Great value for money.

Very nice hotel. We stay one night. It was worth it. The stuff was very helpful. Next time in Bologne I'll stay there.

It is very close to the railroad and many times there is the barrier closed, so one have to wait until it opens again. The staff was not very friendly and the clients of a room were a kind of family that live there. The bathroom? Old, old, old.

The hotel is perfect for short stays. I stayed there for 1 day. If I stayed more I would find a bit inconvenient that the bathroom is not in the room. And if you are ment to come to the hotel only for a sleep it's also perfect. The best thing is that it's not far from the centre of Bologna.

A quiet, residential neighborhood outside the tourist area. Room had a balcony, a must for us when in Italy! We were on 4th floor but there was storage for our bikes a half flight down from entrance. Just a few blocks from bus stops and within walking distance to city centre (at least for us who are used to walking and exercise).

Bus 36 to the area. It's not on the direct street which is split by one block with another street name but is off the street in a courtyard of apartments so be careful when looking for it. Get off the bus across from the supermarket and it's almost directly behind the grocery across the transit tracks. There are a couple GREAT tratatorias in the neighborhood. Just be careful with the bill at the one a couple blocks away and just tell the waiter to stop being rude if you don't speak Italian. He seems to have an issue with English language speakers. BUT the food is great and the lasagna is out of this world. AND everything is very, very fairly priced! Access to the historical area is simple. Just ask for the bus number at the desk. They also have a desktop computer for you to use to access the internet in the lobby. Staff is very helpful. No air conditioning but ask for a fan for your room if there's no ceiling fan and they'll oblige. Overall a nice place for the $$$

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly (24 hour reception). There is internet access. The room was super clean yet basic. If you are looking for luxury this is not for you. Transport to city centre very frequent and cheap (bus no 14 is 4min walk from hotel), however my Italian friends advised me not to take the bus on my own very late so ended up taking taxi back to hotel (normal price is 8- 9euros max). Not sure if there was breakfast as I left in a hurry in the mornings, but I think not. Very near the hospital, if you are traveling for health reasons. Temperature was not unpleasant but could get a bit hot in the summer as no a/c is available. In general, a good experience.Good value for money for people who travel for work or conventions and just need a place to rest.

Very friendly staff and the benefit of a computer for internet use and a coffee machine! The room looked nice and well kept, but unfortunately it was a bit hot at night and the bed or mattress quite uncomfortable to sleep on. Too far from town centre to walk. You need to catch the bus.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. For the price paid, it provided a modest but comfortable room, a congenial staff and an excellent location. The vicinity around the hotel as well as the hotel itself seemed to be in good condition and it was only about a 15 minute walk to the center of town. My only suggestion to the hotel is to provide a curtain or shower wall in the shower so as not to get water on the floor. Besides this, everything was great and the rooms were clean. I do recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay in Bologna. I also want to thank the staff again for all of their hospitality. Molto grazie!

Superb value. Charming staff. If you don't mind the fact that it's a bit out of the centre ( we didn't), the money we saved by staying here paid for our food! If you don't want to walk, there's a direct bus to the centre of town and also to the train station.

The hotel was very affordable, very well positioned near St. Marks Square. Only drawback was the number of stairs to get to my room (60)

The hotel is not very close to city center we had to take the bus to plaza maggiore. Except that, everything was very nice, the room clean and the rate very chip and we appreciated the welcoming of the owner.

This hotel is a little tricky to find. From the train station, the best is bus 37. This stops at the farthest point from the Mcdonalds in the station's square. The hotel is in a good location and once you get the busses figured out it is easy to get to the city center. The room is small but clean and the staff is very helpful. There is internet at the front desk, you just have to ask. Also, the busses only run ever 1/2 hour on Sundays, plan accordingly.

Personally, I think this hotel is rather nice, but probably only caters for domestic italian travelers. The elderly man who mans the reception doesn't speak a word of english, so it was hard to get anything across. Besides that, I think it was a pretty decent place. A bit of planning ahead is needed in order to get there though, as it is not that near the city centre

Nice hotel in a quite zone. The staff was helpfull. Hotel carino in una zona tranquilla. Il personale è gentile e affabile. Non c'è ascensore e i bagni sono all'ultimo piano della struttura, ma tutto sommato c'è un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

This is a charming place -- a spacious, newly renovated apartment in the heart of the old city, looked after by charming hosts. And right around the corner from what may be the best gelateria in Italy! We would definitely return.

This hotel is an excellent choice if you don't want to pay too much and like to discover some authentic Italian restaurants without tourists. It helps if you speak some Italian and if you are open to other cultures (Italian and other). Some ethnic minority shops are also close by.

Clean and simple We had a chance to get twin rooms with common bathroom, perfect for a family of five. The people at the hostel are very nice and helpfull. Many commodities in the immediate vicinity (100m or less): supermarket, tasty and economic pizzeria hold by sympathetic young pakistanese, and a kiosk on via Massarenti convenient for breakfast or a late artisanal ice-cream (opened from april to october included). The kiosk's tenant speaks french, which was for us very helpful at the beginning of the stay.

We were happy about our stay, except that for one of the rooms we had, the furniture was too old (bed broken, bedlight also, etc.). The employees were really nice, very welcoming and doing their best to make our stay as nice as possible.

Ottima pulizia. Camera con bagno e doccia. Tv in camera.

Quite a terrible place.. Was lost trying to find it, there are no guidelines on the web page. The room was dirty, and the taps didnt work. There was no air conditioning and the fan made a lot of noise. Will definitely avoid it in future.

I was very pleased with my stay. The employees were unusually friendly and helpful, the room was clean and had everything I needed. There is no curfew as mentioned in one of the reviews: I asked, and there was no problem in my taking my key, leaving before 8 a.m. or returning after 8 p.m. The hostel is located in a less expensive area of town, with a large shopping market and several good cafes just around the corner. The special part of Bologna with its narrow streets and arcades is within walking distance just beyond the city gate near by, so that I rarely took the bus. The direct surroundings are quiet and peaceful for city standards as the street has very little traffic. All in all, nothing to complain, and highly to be recommended if you are looking for a clean, inexpensive and pleasant place to sleep!

Pleasant though slightly characterless place. Pretty good for the price and we had a small balcony overlooking the garden at the back which was a nice surprise. Located in a block north of the hospital complex, 20 mins walk from the city centre with easy options of a bus. The map on the website is not detailed enough to help you find it.

The personel was very helpful and made us feel welcome. A beautiful area with an advanced music school nearby (starts rehearsing at 11 am ;). Honestly, we thought it was a Stan Getz record, but it was just the school. Supermarket and public communications located nearby. Quiet area save a few passing trains which didn't bother us at all. Downtown is 5 min by bus.

All and all S. Orsola was a very good place. However in the Web site the 20:00 curfew is not mentioned... Had I known I wouldn't have taken that place. Also I don't see the point of offering a place to stay in Italy when the front desk doesn't speak a word in English or French or Spanish. Having the Web site in English and the confirmation mail in English is very misleading. Asking things using my hands is not a good experience after a long flight and drive.
